In Gold, Silver, Crystal, HeartGold, and SoulSilver, some trees can be hit with the Pokémon move Headbutt. On occasion, a wild Pokémon will fall out of the tree.

Well seeing none of our pokemon know headbutt, yes. Pokemon found using headbutt are off-limits for now.

Yeah... also, come on guys. I'm not going to be there for every other post. You all have as much ability to push the plot forward as I do, especially since you all have to catch or raise your pokemon too. Also, all pokemon below level 5 require just 2 pokemon to be defeated or captured to level up. A pokedex will be given to everyone at Mr. Pokemon's house, so you can identify what gender the pokemon you caught is. That's why I had to give my Pidgey a gender neutral name.

Kinda cool the RPs are. But if you, the GM plan to leave us approaching with the plot... I'm sorry to say, but we can't really control the NPCs like you do. Besides, you're supposed to be the main Protagonist.

Er, allow me to reword that. Yeah, I'm probably considered the main protagonist, but you all are also accompanying my character with your own team and ambitions. So if we're on a route, don't be afraid to take a little control, that way all of our characters are raising their team properly. So on a route, be a little assertive and catch or defeat wild pokemon. But in towns and cities, a little more control does go to me, since I control NPC's.

I think the main reason we're not doing as much to push the plot forward is that we're worried not everyone is in agreement on the group taking a particular course of action. For example, I might be hesitant to mention everyone passing by the gate to Route 46 if I suspect someone wants to catch a Pokémon before then.

Moonlit: That's precisely why you can't leave the RP like that. The RP will get nowhere since you yourself are the only one who can control the NPCs in Town, Cities. But what about Special NPCs? Can we control them too?

By Special NPCs, I meant more like a NPC that acts like a Protagonist/helps the Protagonist with useful things and stuff, but is not with the group or something.

I was going to propose that we all post what we have planned for our respective characters before they reach the next landmark or settlement. If everyone has no plans, then we move on to the next plot point. I don't plan on having Lucy encounter any wild Pokémon on between where everyone is now and the gate to Route 46. I have an encounter with a Level 2 female Pidgey prepared, but I plan on triggering it either between the gate and Cherrygrove City or later when everyone's on the way back from Mr. Pokémon's house.

A valid point. I was using the RNG to determine which Pokémon Lucy came across, and it spat out one of Pidgey's numbers. I'm willing to go with a different Pokémon if anyone would prefer for Lucy to not have the same Pokémon as anyone else.

Er, well allow me to tell you my simple plan. I'll take 3 and SJD will have the number 2. I'm going to move the group forward, and at random moments, I'm going to make a wild pokemon appear, and I'll set the RNG to randomly pick a number of 1-4. Whatever number it picks, will be the person who deals with the wild pokemon.
Any objections?

I am a bit concerned that this system could lead to one or more of us almost never catching Pokémon due to sheer rotten luck, but in the long run, I suspect it won't be an issue. Worst-case scenario, we can introduce a mechanic to compensate for that.

I suspect the RGN going towards Moonlit's number. As a result, when his character is all out of empty pokeballs, he can't be able to catch any more Pokemons. What to do if that ever happens?

I figure we'd just redo the RNG until it doesn't spit out TheMoonlitAttorney's number in that situation.

If need be, I'll just make someone be encountered by a wild without consulting the RNG. Also, you all will control battles against wild pokemon. Battles against trainers will be an interaction between me controlling the trainer and whoever is battling them. Whoever battles trainers on the road will also be decided by the RNG.

Only pokemon that hatch from eggs start at level 1. Also, there's no need to catch everything you encounter. If you want, just knock out the wild pokemon. But there is no running system, unless one of you have something in mind. Also, I might be busy Friday... unfortunate, I know, but I'd promised my stepfather I'd help him with something. I'll let you all know if something happens though. The RP is paused until Saturday for now though.
