Have you ever had a player, at the climax of the adventure and after being told by their boss who literally owns their souls that they need to prevent this battle, ignore the plot and have their character go to the pub to drink in the middle of a riot?

Then, since said character is not at plot important moment, you decide to use the, "People who aren't in the scene need to leave," method of GMing as a punishment. While he's not paying attention, said player nearly injures two or so other players, not characters but players, nearly breaking the female's back.

Jegus! That's insane!

The only thing I got is when I was LARPing with my BF at a convention as Isaac and Miria from Baccano and we made a Claire bible by taping 5books together. We also got 2nd place in a mech race in a cardboard box.

See, that's fun... I hate my roleplaying group... Specifically one guy... But still, I'm hoping in college I'll get some better roleplaying. My roommate is into Civil War Reenactments so I think that should work well.

*pokes head in*

I'm interested in doing a semi-cozy roleplay. I've tried doing roleplays before on Gaia, but unfortunately they all turned sour dishearteningly quickly. But Court Records here has a much nicer community, and you guys seem to have just the right amount of crazy. Image

I've already got an idea for someone, so I'll be fleshing that out a bit. I'll post it tomorrow if you all would like me to join. ^^

Hey, Mum? Could you do a doodle of that scene, with Sylvester and the doc operating on Chase, who's struggling to not scream out in excruciating pain, whilst Migoto's playing with Wendy. It's just hilarious!

Pfft, I thought you were all offline when I posted, so I went off to fiddle around while I thought instead of keeping tabs on the thread. XD

I'm only mildly nerdy though. I'm getting into Warhammer 40,000 though. I've got a small Tau force assembled and ready to prime one the humidity decides to clear up... Which isn't likely to happen anytime soon >__>

Unfortunately no, I'm still fairly new the whole thing. I haven't had an opportunity to play a whole game yet, but a Games Workshop opened up within walking distance of my house, so I've got a large community of warhammer and LOTR junkies to fill me in. XD

If you're going through Games Workshop you probably will just be stuck with the full army game. Not that that's a bad thing.

Dark Heresy is a tabletop RPG where you play a member of the Inquisition. You solve mysteries and stop heretics and stuff. It's also really bloody once violence comes into play...

I played one session. In that one session I ran up to a window and shot a guy with a shotgun. His head exploded, and the guy behind him died and his body went flying a good ten yards. I walked up to the front door, blew a guy's leg off and he was on the floor screaming. I looked through the door, shot another guy who went flying out the window. Then I walked along, shot another guy in the leg, and dove through a window.

All during that time two of my allies had climbed in through a window and were having a knife fight with a cultist (whose leg they cut off... With a knife). The Psycher of the party had used a power to walk up the wall, climbed through a second story window, had used fire bombs to light things on fire, and was chasing after a mutant.

And that's why that game is awesome...

Like I said, nerd.

Just look up Dark Heresy. Basically in the far future humanity has technology, but they view it superstitiously as their culture has degenerated to the religious zeal of medieval Europe. So you work for the Inquisition and fight heresy in the universe.

It's a really fun game...

There are a lot of small-scale games at the workshop at least. One of the more memorable matches I watched was between an Order of the Arrow friend of mine and a more casual practitioner. The game itself was straightforward, though both sides had trouble moving more than two inches per turn, but the match turned into a ludicrous roleplay. My friend decided that his space marines (I don't remember the chapter though) were fraternity bros, so he named each one Brad, except for his heavy boltgunner, who was Steve, and they were all hung over from their latest party and all had mild stat penalties. His opponent was using figures inherited from several of his own friends, so he had figures of all kinds of colors on the field. He ended up naming his chapter the Gay Marines, and they were fighting to spread their "fabulousness". We couldn't stop laughing for the entire game.

Besides, I wanted to play DnD with my sister and she never let me. I was never able to play a table top game in my life.

Sorry if I double post, but I actually know how you feel. I was really lucky to play games at all because of the club at school. Even then, some drama kept me out of some of the games...

I make so many characters that I never get to use... There are ways you can play online if you would like to try.

I've got a prospective profile that's almost ready to post. Right now, he's more of the support kind over direct wet work. I'm thinking that I'll leave him unaffiliated, and be a newcomer to the setting. I'll let him interact with the other characters a bit, then let him find his niche to fit in to. Though it'll most likely be with sherwood. >_>

@IA: Nah... I get confused really easily and I would just get mad at the games. I do that.

@Onyx: that sounds cool. I'm just worried because the two we had set on Sherwood, kieran and Renee, left.

Oh. I think I'm getting into one of these moods where I hate everything I draw. It happens every once in a while where I get frustrated with my drawing abilities and just stop drawing. It's gotten so bad once, I tore down all the drawings I had up in my room and threw them away. This usually happens when I get stuck in a rut where it feels like I'm just drawing the same thing over and over.

Oop, my brother's gone to bed, and since we share a room, plus he's got work in the morning, I'll have to turn in for the night as well. I'll just leave my profile-in-progress here and see whatever you've got to say about it in the morning. >_<

Name:Mercer Baitman
Age: 25
Gender: Male
Faction: Currently unaffiliated.
Appearance: Somewhat short at 5'5", but is fit; with well-trained muscles. His hair is cropped short to military regulations and is clean shaven. He has muddled, brown eyes set in a permanantly furrowed brow from squinting. Wears a black turtleneck with matching fingerless gloves and slacks over a set of scuffed combat boots.

Personality: Mercer tends to be slow and methodical, avoiding detection and confrontations. When the situation dictates for immediate action, Mercer relys on his training and instincts and reacts quickly and coldly, leaving thinking to afterward. He is not very well suited for direct confrontations, though his hand-to-hand training has served him well when he slips up. But if an opportunity to escape presents itself, he will take his leave without hesitation. He is a fast runner and a practitioner of parkour, making him difficult to catch when he's on the run. He looks down upon harming civilians, but if he deems an individual as a threat, he is not adverse to using lethal force if he believes it is necessary.

Bio: Mercer is the only child in his military family. When he was 13, both of his parents were killed in action by the enemy in the war; His uncle, who worked as a marksman trainer, took him in. Mercer enlisted when he turned 18, and served a full tour of duty as a reconassance sniper. During his second tour, he witnessed his own commanding officer making an illegal deal with a beraucrat to sell intelligence that Mercer had collected to the enemy. Mercer attempted to get the officer court-martialed for treason, but was unable to prove his guilt. Eventually the situation escalated, and Mercer ended up being discharged for his actions. Now he works by himself, digging for the secrets that the corrupt bury.

Trust me, these games aren't too bad. Especially if you play online. Then it's just like a normal roleplay with dice. Of course it does depend on the RPG. You play D&D there is so much book reference it's not even funny unless you know how to organize. Call of Cthulhu, on the other hand, is much more simple. And yes, this is me passively begging to actually have good role-players.

As for the drawing stuff... I don't know. I know when I'm writing and I get frustrated I try for something else. Like I've been writing stuff literally about roleplaying, and that little short I showed you was really refreshing.

That character sounds pretty legit Onyx. I'd be happy for you to go to Sherwood, though the thugs are lonely over here... Sure, I'm a supervillian, but still I have no contacts. I have to make them up and have our entire convo in one post.

It's that, I don't really have an Internet connection. I'm actually on my phone right now.

And for the drawings, I feel like everything I draw sucks. Nothing is coming out like I want and all I can really do is like, character designs. I can't draw scenes or anything like that...

Like I said, its just like a normal rp, just with dice. I know some dice rolling websites that work on phone... That being said, I'll just stop harassing you now.

Let me see if I understand. So you feel like your character drawings are coming out bad, and you can't draw scenes at all?

First of all, Chase is right. Like we've both said, try something else. Mix it up a little and it'll spark.

Second, anyone who has done a creative thing ever has gone through one of those phases. Really the only thing you can do us not give up.

If it's any consolation, I thought your drawing of you you put up in the Family Tree thread was pretty good.

This actually happens a lot.... And even if I tried to draw something else, I'll just get mad at it and rip it up...

You guys don't understand how bad these moods get. Once, I ripped up every single picture in my sketch book. Another time, I threw my sketch book across the room and cried. And once, I was so mad I couldn't do ANYTHING creative because I hated everything I did.

And I really dislike that picture. It's really bad. My porportions suck, the arm is wrong... It's just really bad...

Heh seems things moved onto roleplays and 40k.

Can't say 40k interested me as a tabletop game, I was a fantasy man but I have done a couple of roleplays (with GMs and stuff I know!) and I sat in on a hilarious Dark Heresy game XD.

I almost persuaded the GM to make a psyker crap his pants...sooo close but anyway a question about the current roleplay.

What's the distribution to the factions? Short on any of them?

Don't worry, Mum! If you don't think it looks right, just try again when you feel better!

We are a bit short on Thugs, though that's only because the Sophisticates and Hoods are on the same team.

EDIT:
Spoiler: 1400-post Summary
A mole in the police force, Officer Parks, pulled up and everybody got in. Inside was the first lieutenant of the Sophisticates: Rose Issar. Yuui found out about the op and instructed his best man, Markus 'The Blackguard' Flynn, to kidnap Migoto from the treehouse base. The cop car let everybody out by the forest and Parks drove off. He had been spotted. Fool. The gang went to the base and Rose insisted on cooking fish. Migoto went off for a walk but was kidnapped by Markus, who also killed some dude. Meanwhile, Chase and Sylvester were looking over the clone of Yuui's laptop they manged to snag when they heard Migoto scream. They were too late to save her, but hatched a plan to get her back. They waltzed up to Yuui's place (they found it's location on the laptop clone) and were led in. Before any exchanges or betrayal could be made, Migoto revealed that Sylvester was wearing a camera that was streaming data to the second and fifth lieutenants, Reed Vile and Enzo R. U., respectively. this could be sent to Melissa as evidence of his wrongdoings. Yuui let them all go. Sylvester remained and one of his agents flash-kicked Yuui out of the window with a parachute. Markus and Sylvester conversed almost casually until Markus got fed up and left, killing a few nobodies. Sylvester spent a day doing paperwork whilst Migoto and Chase went out for a picnic. The next morning, Migoto taught Chase to make and flip pancakes, while Sylvester and Rose watched Vile scalding Enzo over an incident concerning the third and fourth lieutenants (soon to be married), Essa-Blue Shu and Gary Sweet respectively. Migoto left Sylvester some weird voicemails and vice versa then called for him to come over and bring Migoto's childhood photo album for Chase to see. When he did, they planned to set up a fake meeting at 3 that day at the black market for the Thugs. One of the Sophisticate agents there would incite an uprising after Yuui didn't arrive. Before this happened, however, Migoto got in a mood again after Chase made a joke about her make-up. She was chucking stuff at people for no reason. After Migoto tackled Sylvester to the ground, Chase pulled her off him and calmed her down. Then, the three looked at the album, seeing Migoto with a broken arm at the doctor's and in a fast food uniform. They got to her at prom and she mentioned that she hated it. They plan the Thug meeting then they talk about school. Chase doesn't know what school is. They all agree that homework sucks and graded tests are worse. Finally, Migoto agrees that she'd rather see Yuui back to how he was before than mess up his whole life. The trio make their way to the museum, planning to slide down the t-rex fossil. They make their way throught he tunnels before entering the museum corridor through the floor. Migoto gets past the lasers and disables them. Sylvester sneaks into the next room and shocks the turrets with the Conductor and rams one against a wall in order to defeat them. Then, they all move into a room where Migoto and Chase beat up ninjas. They get through the last door into the main exhibition room of the museum. After taking a look at some of the wonderful things in the museum, they all tightrope-walk across some lights and get to sliding down the t-rex. A security guard arrives but they knock him out. Migoto and Chase followed shortly by Sylvester, who steals some random jewels. Migot and Chase go looking for the lost ring of a Hood and in the process, they find a stray cat and name her Wendy. They bring Wendy home and Sylvester comes back with cat food. Sylvester leaves as Chase and Migoto decide to go to sleep. Meanwhile, Chase's arch-nemesis, GrandTheftAutoBro (Grant for short), arrives in the city from Tibet and plans evil stuff. Grant looks just like Chase, but he's blonde. He confronts Yuui at his HQ and asks for a job. Yuui agrees and sends him to deal with Migoto and Chase. Chase wakes up and goes outside. Grant appears and beats the stuffing out of him. He goes into the treehouse with a wig and tries to trick Migoto into believing that he's Chase but slips up when he mentions he steals cars. The real Chase steals motorcycles, not cars. Migoto puts up a fight but Grant leaves her in pain and kidnaps Chase in his car. Migoto follows and calls Sylvester for back-up. Markus is told by Yuui that he's a liability and two men come to kill him. Markus deals with them with ease and looks for a car. Sylvester appears and gives Markus the Alfa, giving him info about Grant, the guy that took Markus' job. Sylvester joins Migoto on his motorcycle, followed shortly by the five lieutenants, Rose Issar, Reed Vile, Essa-Blue Shu, Gary Sweet, Enzo R. U. and Yuui tells Markus to prove that he's better than Grant. Markus goes to find Grant. Grant hides Chase in the back of an abandoned casino. Migoto jumps in and begins to pick the lock on Chase's handcuffs when Grant leaves. Gary find Grant and criticises him. The other five Sophisticates jump down. Enzo plays on the slot machine. Grant gets beat up a bit (punched in the face by Vile) before putting a gun to Migoto's head. Enzo wins a lot of money and Sylvester uses the distraction to zap the gun out of Grant's hands. Chase gets it but can't shoot him. Grant snatches the gun back and shoot Chase before running away like a madman. Essa turns the corner and coldly shoot him in the leg with a revolver. Grant flees to his secondary base whilst he is painfully healed by his Tibetan monk friends. Chase is moved back to the treehouse base, where (after the Sophisticates tell Markus which way Grant went) Sylvester and his doctor friend operate on Chase. He can feel it as he already took a bit of anaesthesia the other day. Migoto puts earphones in and plays with Wendy.

Yeah. I win.

Dat summary's certainly going to help me understand What's been going on in the RP. Though I'm reading through the whole thing anyway. >_<

Yuziki: That's cute. I can understand that you're hard on yourself sometimes, but what is truly important is that you enjoy what you do. Nothing else matters. And I'm not saying that because you can still draw better than I can. XD

I want to make some kind of picture of "Mercer", but since I can't draw, I had the idea of using Garrysmod to make one. I've found a model that looks kinda similar to my character, so all I have to do is pose him and take a screenshot. Let's see how it goes.
