Which is why I was sure they were gonna make a DLC for him considering the amount of work they put into all his 3D animations... but it seems they don't want to make more DLC unfortunately. At least they can reuse his animations in future games and even in GK3 which they'll likely make.

Please excuse me, then. I misread what you meant.

To be honest, I'm surprised Klavier even made it into this game. Other than his appearance at the school event, a short investigation segment, and a lobby scene, he is nowhere to be found. In any of those situations, Phoenix or even Ema could have taken his place. I don't know why Ema would be there, but she is still a detective and can help with a certain piece of evidence during that case. Plus, she'd be more interesting to talk to during that investigation segment.

Though, to be fair, if Ema were in the game as well, I don't think her theme would have gotten a remix either.

To be honest, if anyone needs screen time it's Klavier, considering
Spoiler: Apollo Justice spoilers
his brother turned out to be a giant nutjob and his best friend started smuggling and murdered a guy for teh lulz
and he goes on as if nothing has happened. That's pretty messed up.

I'm not saying I WANT him to get more screen time, but if he's going to appear in future games, they'll probably need to address that at some point.

They won't. They're trying not to spoil other games, so that all can be played separately. And I don't think Klavier can ever fix that messed up chance for a character development.

You mean like, a character theme hidden in the actual Reminiscence track?

He means, like in the comments.

BTW, Am I the only one who wants Noriyuki Iwadare off Ace Attorney for the next main-series game? He's a tired composer by what I hear from his soundtracks. It's not that his music sucks, but as video-game themes I don't like his style at all. Too many songs have the Verse-Prechorus-Chorus structure and even Pursuit themes are like that, which is a crucial mistake imo. Also he's never really made that Pursuit theme that just kicked ass on the rest. Ambushed is the best and it's memorable, but it doesn't beat Overtaken or Cornered. Caught is pretty poorly composed imo. and Lying Coldly suffers from the "Verse-Prechorus-Chorus structure"

Of course this is totally my opinion, but I can't be the only one who feels this, can I?

Probably, but if we don't have any info about Masakazi Sugimori. Which is sad. (Every time I google image "Masakazi Sugimori, Noriyuki Iwadare's pictures show up.)

Appreciating your own preference, however, Iwadare's Pursuit isn't so bad imo. I rank Caught the best Pursuit, rather than Cornered, but Ambushed the worst; Ambushed doesn't contain neither thrill nor beat which other Pursuit contains.

Also I would suggest you to listen 'Wanting to Find the Truth(abbr. Wanting)", the Pursuit of GK2 which Iwadare composed. Even Wanting doesn't have beat, its dramatic, heart-touching melody fits perfectly with the story of GK2.

Great suggestion, but I already did and I think it's atrocious. It has the drama and all that but it feels like it's too much somehow. And I don't dig distorted guitars in my Ace Attorney... and it doesn't fit Edgeworth's theme (character-wise) at all. It just came off as corny imo.

The best ones are still Cornered and Overtaken. Those two has everything a Pursuit theme should need. They have a great but breif buildup and a climactic and memorable melody without being too overdramatic.

I always think music in games should fill out the colors in the painting, but they must not paint the image for you.

Don't get me wrong. I like Ambushed. It's a great piece of music but it doesn't have the tension of the kind of pursuit track I prefer. It's not a good replacement for either Overtaken or Cornered, but it's a good track nonetheless and catchy.

The problem is that the part I really like, right after the lame-ass guitar solo, is the part where Ambushed actually has tension, but the music in video games and especially in Ace Attorney should fit in the exact moments they appear. Listen to Overtaken for example. It starts right off the bat at a very tension-filled and climactic part and then it kinda keeps it at that, though it has an interlude but it doesn't break the flow.

Ambushed sounds very show-off-ish and it's great, but lacks tension. Remember, you're pointing out that someone is lying, essentially unmasking them for their crime and at the point where pursuit kicks in, it's supposed to compiment this feeling. It doesn't help that Ambushed has that guitar-solo breakdown where the pursuit-mood is completely gone but then it kicks it up after it. I really wish they'd cut out the guitar-solo. It's unfitting for my taste.

Well, that's not what I meant, but
Spoiler:
think of how Objection 2009 and 2011 are based off the "The Great Revival". One of the songs in this game will spoil the main story if you listen to it prematurely.

Imagine if we heard the song in GS1 and we were not yet told that Edgeworth was involved in DL-6. If the DL-6 theme had an element of Great Revival in it before GS1 was released (again, this is hypothetical) we would be spoiled.

It doesn't capture his essence IMO. Anyway, his official catchphrase in english is "In Justice We Trust" and I assume that's what he says instead of yelling "JUSTIIIICE" so I'd go with that instead to any day.

It's really just my opinion and other people might like your idea better. It's just that guardian feels too solemn for his attitude somehow.

I see. I'm always thinking that the preference of the music is somewhat local-based.
Most of the AA fans in my country - South Korea - says the Wanting fits perfectly for pursuit theme meanwhile Overtaken fits like dance music rather than pursuit and Ambushed was too poorly composed; I agree with that. Honestly I was shocked a little when I noticed that Western AA fans like Ambushed and think Caught and Wanting are atrocious. :larry:

Does Wanting really not fit Edgeworth's character-wise? :redd: In GK2 his character is far from cold, intelligent elite prosecutor but humane, warm person which could sacrifice his whole career without hesitating to find the truth and save his innocent friend. It's nice try and not too overdramatic imo.

Yeah, these are nothing but just opinions however. We won't have to be serious more than now.

I'm probably the only one I know who doesn't like Caught or Wanting but it's a matter of taste. I just think Caught is poorly composed and Wanting is actually completely fine but the soundfont makes it terrible. I guess it works character-wise though it doesn't really scream "edgeworth". It's a nitpick don't read too much into my dislike.

Don't fool yourself into thinking I represent the entire western audience!

Edit: Overtaken does indeed have a dance element but Pursuit isn't a genre so it can still make a Pursuit theme.

Yep that's true. In some tracks it sounds like it's recorded line-in from a real electric precision-bass whereas in some tracks it's synthezised. I like the slides it makes.

That is, in my case, if Iwadare is not the composer. He has yet to show me a pursuit track that matches the standard of either Overtaken or Cornered. His style isn't good for Ace Attorney IMO. I'd even rather have Akemi Kimura than him.

If Masakasu would voluntarily join Capcom for their next Ace Attorney I'd much rather have that though. The dude is so much more talented than any of the composers that have worked on the series besides him. Listening to both PW:AA's soundtrack and Ghost Trick's OST I think Sugimori is on par with guys like Koji Kondo... not kidding. the guy knows how to make consistently good video game music.

And I thought I was the only one who thought JFA has the best music in the series. (Especially a lot of people hating Pursuit~Questioned.)

I think one reason is JFA's soundtrack is in GS1's shadow and a lot of the themes are similar. I think JFA's track is generally underrated and Iwadare's tracks, especially GK1 and GK2's soundtracks are severely overrated. I just think Iwadare is a bit of a hipster with the way he often composes his music. Too many non-linear rythyms and sometimes it just becomes a mess rather than sounding funky. He's also not very good at making pertinent melodies, though there are noteworthy exceptions, such as Godot's theme or... Dangit, I can't even remember anything else here.

Hm... I'm not so sure. GS1 soundtrack feels good as a starter for the series, but I'm not sure if his work would work that well in the newer games.

His work with Ghost Trick is pretty good though. But you're right. He probably wouldn't make it as good the second time (which is why I think Iwadare should've gone a long time ago! :grey:)
