You're telling me Ema is NOT tsundere for Klavier?

HOW COULD YOU JUST THROW THAT AWAY?! There was SO MUCH potential...so much.

This is the only acceptable Ema ship.

Spoiler: 6-2
YOU THOUGHT THEY HAD SPLIT UP FOR GOOD WHEN SHE SWORE OFF OF THEM, BUT THANKS TO NAHYUTA HAVING A PERMANENT STICK UP HIS ASS, EMA AND SNACKOOS ARE REUNITED FOREVER AND EVER.

IT IS A BEAUTIFUL LOVE THAT WILL NEVER DIE.

Personally I ship Ema with a Sea Ray 420 Sedan Bridge yacht. The ship has enough space and comfort for all those long journeys between Japanifornia and Khurain she'll have to make. And with enough space to hold buckets of fingerprint powder and cabinets of Snackoos, it's the perfect ship for our favorite detective.

I also ship Apollo with an aircraft carrier. That way he can use his Chords of Steel on top of a Hull of Steel.

EDIT: I'm probably worrying too much, but I tend to be the kind of person to over analyze what I write so I just wanted to say that I originally had a part in here at the beginning of the post talking about how "I'm serious about Ema Shipping" and how "Shipping is important to the lives of the characters" and that was intended to be a build up to the stupid punchline about literal ships (hence "shipping" is important to get characters to where they need to go). I was looking back on this post last night as I do with many and I realized that that part of it could have sounded like I was sarcastically making fun of people shipping characters. That wasn't my intention so I apologize if it came off that way, :edgey:
I used to have Sam Waterston as my avatar but photobucket added a watermark and also Law & Order has been cancelled for 10 years so it's time for me to move on.

I never got Tsundere from her. From the start she was married to science! (And now Nahyuta's bringing her around all the time so prepare for the incoming Nahyema ships)

Pffft, you guys are crazy. It took 11 years for Ema/Her Self-Esteem to become canon, and y'all want to ruin it with glimmerous fops, white haired pretty boys and snacks with high sugar content? Shame.
This post may or may not be joking.

Gonna take a while for them to kickstart a revolution but it's already started:

No ship's gonna be better than Ema x Fingerprint Powder though.

I have to admit, I thought they were intentionally hinting tsundere ema-klav too...
and I get the same vibes with Ema-Nahyuta... plus there's the whole science vs. religion thing.

To be fair, most women in the saga act like that around Edgeworth.

I'd like to wish for Ema and Snackoos to grow old together, but unless the latter is super preserved, it won't even last a couple of years.

True, but consider this: The fact that Ema is crushing on Edgeworth means her standards are so high that she wouldn't find anyone else acceptable. And since Edgeworth has no interest in a romantic relationship, Ema has no choice but to accept that fulfillment can only come from within.
Thus, Ema/Her Self-Esteem is the only acceptable match.

That's where the Golden Snackoos come in.

Nah, just because you fangirl/fanboy someone doesn't automatically mean you have a romantic interest, or that you'll hold all future lovers to the standard of the one you fangirl/fanboy.

As a more serious reply, I get that Ema finds Klavier obnoxious for his flamboyance but as a person he seems to embody everything she would appreciate (being an honest, truth-seeking prosecutor in an age of unprincipled attorneys; especially after seeing what became of his brother).

DLC case:
Maya: "Hey, it's Ema, Hi Ema!"
Ema: "Hello, Phoenix, Maya."

Was there any point earlier in the game where these two got properly introduced? I don't recall. Either way, with some time passed since I beat the game and going through the DLC, man, Ema is so flavorless in this game. She really didn't make any impression on me beyond the initial joy of rediscovering her and seeing her being promoted.

I think they knew each other by case 3.
Spoiler: Vague Overall Game
But yeah, they really should've kept the snarkiness of AJ Ema and the excitedness of RftA Ema to make a perfect combination of both. Instead, she's a little of both, which leaves her with...not much.

Something that bothers me is that most of the defendants were acquainted with her,so she was hesitant in doing her job, excluding the DLC case, which makes it so that we never get to see her proudly doing her work.

She also has no chemistry with Athena. She just meets her and just goes,"Hi",and they barely interact throughout the game. She should've been the first witness in case 4 instead of Simon IMO.

Also, excluding the DLC case, she only has one testimony per case, even when in two day trials. In 2,3 and 5.

Overall,SOJ Ema was probably the worst usage of a returning character in SOJ.

I think it's always been assumed they knew each other. While they obviously couldn't meet each other in the actual games (as Ema was created after the trilogy), Takumi always wrote the two characters like they knew about each other in all the side-materials, like the Dreamaga short stories, the Special Court skits and the video where Phoenix and Maya look back on the trilogy. While those materials aren't really canon, I think that in Takumi's mind, the two had already met already somewhere during the trilogy.

She has no chemistry with Athena so she should have been the witness in her case instead of a guy who actually does have chemistry with her? What kind of logic is that?

Firstly,
Spoiler:
I'm saying that by being the first witness in case 4 would develop chemistry with Athena, while Athena and Blackquill already have established chemistry.

Secondly,no. Gumshoe always had at least one case where he testified more than once in each trilogy game. Ema in AJ had more than one testimony in case 3,surprisingly the only one where she testifies in. And Fulbright had at least two testimonies in case 2 and 4.

More reason why her relationship with Nahyuta could work imo. Not only he fits her description of ideal prosecutor, but he's the closest thing to a second Edgeworth the saga had.
