Hi there,
Warning: Computer blabla ahead
since yesterday I'm trying to figure out how the sprites are encoded in the data.bin. Some of you extracted them month/years ago, but unfortunately no information about the encoding is found here/with google.
I already managed to see the pointer table in data.bin, with 7 more pointer tables following to about half the file. After this, no pointer table is found, i don't know how to go on from there.
The first pointer table is 4bpp/reverse-order 32x20 sprites with the blue badger, the second is the knife animation from case 5. Pointer table 3 and 4 point to 24kb files (after decompression), Tile Molester just looks like garbage, it doesn't seem to be an untiled format either, pointer table 5 points to 6kb large files, also garbage. This goes on to after pointer table 8, where no more pointer tables are found.
Can someone who ripped the sprites hint me how to go on?
Another thing is with the scripts, I extracted them from mes_all.bin with PWSE, but only every second file seems to make sense. Hints?
