I was a bit off-put with Objection! 2002 as well. Something about it doesn't sound very nice. This might sound strange, but it sounds like...The middle of a song, not a song in itself. To me, it doesn't sound complete.
I liked Tell the Truth in and of itself, but I find that when compared to the intensely suspenseful other Tell the Truth themes (read: AA, JFA), it's not quite on the same page. But I do think that AJ utilized the song well for what it was-- it's more of a resolution theme than a suspenseful one.
I didn't mind Grossberg's theme! It worked for him, IMO.

As for me? I really like these themes:
AA - Cross Examination
AA - Tell the Truth - this one was the first amazing soundtrack I heard in the game, as it played pretty early on. I think this is what helped me fall in love.
AA - Investigation - Core - this is suspenseful yet melancholy. It worked especially in 1-4, I found. There's a hint of sadness that went well with Yanni Yogi.
JFA - Courtroom Lounge - I LOVE THE LOW BELL.
JFA - Tell the Truth
JFA - Security Camera's Elegy - This is by far the saddest detention theme.
T&T - Cornered
T&T - Elise Deauxnim - Gentle Melody
AJ - Cross Examination - I think this is the best examination theme.
AJ - Solitary Confinement - Darkness Theme
AJ - Seeing Through - Surge, Glance - This is wickedly creepy.
AAI - Confess the Truth
AAI - Pursuit - Lying Coldy
While the music in AAI was musically better than a lot of the other music, it didn't have the same touch of sadness and bittersweetness that so many other tunes from previous games had. It was too energetic much of the time. I liked the sad themes in AA because they were necessary. The game was deep, emotional.

It's strange how one's musical preferences can differ so widely, my only real complaint when it comes to Ace Attorney music is regarding the cross examination themes of Justice for All and Trials and Tribulations. That and Apollo Justice's boring 'Tell the Truth'.
My favorite songs are probably Apollo Justice's objection theme, the cross examination/pursuit themes (allegro) from the first game and Apollo Justice, and I really like the heroic theme Edgeworth's got going on, but I enjoy the vast majority of the songs in the games.
Oh, and who could forget The most fitting song ever?

Weird, my opinion regarding Objection themes is: T&T > JFA > PW > AJ
Though the one from Apollo Justice is the only objection theme that I just flat out don't like.
