Well yeah, but I don't think this is the case at all (P/E). Personally, I can't see Maya/Phoenix in a romantic relationship at ALL, given that they all but expressly define themselves as a pseudo-familial bond. Honestly, I see P/E as a much more viable romance given the context of the series and the canon. Not saying that it's EXACTLY WHAT THE CREATORS INTENDED but it honestly does seem a lot more plausible to me :/

Of course, you're free to ship whomever you please, not trying to stop anyone~

That doesn't mean fans can't ship them whichever way they like, though. If they want to make Edgeworth gay, they're free to do so, but that doesn't actually make him officially gay.

Even :welly:? :O

Yes, even him. He's just flamboyant. Plenty of people can be flamboyant without being gay, and plenty of people can be gay without being flamboyant.

Eddie Izzard agrees.

Of course I know such is not the case (otherwise, I wouldn't be a Phoenix/Maya shipper). I am not that big of an idiot. I typed that because sometimes, that's the way I feel about certain Yaoi relationships (I know that there are certain het and yuri relationships that make no sense at all, for example, I dislike Kasumi/Ayane in DOA).

But I don't get why this is still an issue. I mean, if you're feeling bitter, go look at the pairing poll. Two top pairings are het--one of them is your OTP--and the third most popular is f/f. To be honest, I think we're really beyond "the P/E man is keeping me doooown". I don't know why you feel that way, but it doesn't have a reflection in fandom reality.

first of all...stereotypes ARE in fact GOOD
they help us building a first impression on something we didnt even know
for example the stereotype of a land can help you when you are flying into that land for holiday
of course i dont mean stereotypes like all xyz are dumb or all french men are gay(but they are!)

it may sound weird at first, but the more you think about it,the more it becomes logical

back to topic:
you know austin powers?a man who could get em all! but one could think because of the clothes he wears he is gay....but we all know, that anyone who accusses him gay should rot in hell with chuck norris...
anyways maybe edgie is just metrosexual and straight

Stereotypes are NOT good because they are so frequently false and/or malicious.

SUMMARIES are good. GENERAL DESCRIPTIONS are good. Those help you legitimately build an opinion about something you knew nothing about. Stereotypes reduce a thing down to a few traits, usually negative or outright false, and imply that there is nothing more to the thing than those traits.

Stereotypes != good.

Someone translated that for me as, "Yesterday, Foreigners. Today, Japanese. Why can't you make up your mind? I hate stupid girls like you".

Japanese guys are pretty smooth, when it comes to women.

Precisely~. Honestly? I would have lost all respect for that character had he been all "WHEE THE GURL IS MINE NAO."

Oh god, that one's great too. I love how he tells her he doesn't understand Japanese, SHE IS VERY CUTE. And it absolutely SLAYS me that he uses a polite form of "I."

It is indeed a wonderful thing.

I believe he could be gay, but I would NEVER base that purely on his clothes being hued within a reddish-pinkish color spectrum. Tons of straight boys in my school wear pink shirts. Sometimes they do it to get girls, even. Though I WOULD base it on that as a joke. Like Croik said.

no PW character is gay unless stated in game.
Edgeworth acts kind of weird because his father was murdered when he was 9.
Fangirls just like to ship male characters.

Edgeworth acts kind of weird because he's Edgeworth. :P That experience definitely left an impression on him and affected him deeply, but come on. You can't tack his WHOLE character on that.

Anyway, I think - mainly in the third game - that Edgeworth comes the closest to actually having been stated in-game to be gay. Very obscurely so, and not in as many words, but...

(Well, he's second after Armstrong. But I'm not counting Armstrong, because he's annoyingly stereotyped and obvious.)

To me, Edgeworth is pretty much asexual... Actually, Edgeworth is Edgeworth. There's not really much I can say to describe him. v_v

I do understand everyone else's point of view... It's just not something I'd honestly think.

Back to the original point of the topic, Edgey has worn a color other than his trademark wine red...

Spoiler: JFA
Image
If you look closely, you can see a spot of magenta though, so it may just be a jacket... over his jacket...

Does he look less gay like this? :edgy:

Edgeworth is....his own sexuality. He's not attracted to anything that casts a shadow with a radius longer that 2 feet, and he won't procreate unless he has the proper chemicals brought about by his own type of time of the month. There. :pearl:
