Ever get those times where you think 'Ah! I got it now...Took me long enough!' then you present the right evidence but the reason for it is completely wrong? (According to the text that is displayed after)

I sure as hell have, plenty of times. Like:

Spoiler:
In 4-3 the second trial, I presented the mixing board to because maybe, just maybe that missed cue in Guilty Love was to press the switch...

Just post 'em here, include the spoiler tags though, don't wanna ruin it for the people who have yet to play that game.

I haven't found a topic like this here, maybe I wasn't looking hard enough, but yeah... That'll be dealt with later.

Peace out! :keiko:

Oh god I was so close to making a topic about this before I saw this one. I do that ALL THE TIME.

I know I did somewhere around 4-4, but I can't remember where...

I got a game over twice because in 3-2,
Spoiler:
when you had to point out what was wrong with that picture of Luke Atmey in the Mask*Demasque outfit, I kept pointing at the face, or more specifically, the nose. IT COULDN'T FIT.

This happened in 2-1.
Spoiler: 2-1 spoilers
When Gumshoe says that the victim managed to write the culprit's name on the ground, I tried presenting Dustin's autopsy report, because if Dustin's neck was broken, we would have been paralyzed and unable to move his arms, let alone be able to write something.

Aren't these both cases of "wrong evidence, logical but wrong reasons"? I mean, you presented the wrong evidence, however your reasons for them were logical. But it's still wrong, since the game won't progress that way.
I think the OP meant a case where you present a piece of evidence with a certain reason. The evidence you presented is right, however, your reason for using it is wrong. But the story progresses anyway, of course.

I know I had a few of those, but I can't exactly remember what anymore :sadshoe:

Yeah, this happened to me often when I first started playing, I don't think it happened to me in the later games.

Actually, that would be wrong evidence, right reason.

No, wrong reason, too. The actual reason is that the name is spelt wrong.

What's with people not reading my posts? I already said (something similar to) this. :acro:
And it's only 3 posts above yours!

I suggest you just be patient. You're not going to get a lot of respect like that. Maybe people just didn't see it.

On topic, though, in 2-1, I presented the photo (right evidence), because I noticed the right hand/left hand contradiction, not for the name. Also, I'm not sure what this has to do with anything, but I presented the enlarged crime photo in 1-4, then pointed at the neck part, because the murderer wasn't wearing a cravat. Luckily, my finger hit the spot between the left and down buttons on the D-pad and the pointer went to the hand. I didn't notice and presented the evidence... :redd:

1: Patient? For what? No really, for what should I wait patiently? I really don't know what you mean.
2: I am a lurker, and I don't have a real identity or an image here... So I don't really need any respect. How harsh or emotionless that may sound. I just try to say what's on my mind and tell people what they're doing wrong, to more or less help them. For the rest, I don't care if they like what I do or hate what I do. They may think of me what they want. I know that I am just trying to improve post quality here and as long as the people are improving, I did my job well.
3: Yeah, I know people didn't see my post, and that's the point. I don't care that people don't read my posts specifically. It's just so strange that people say things without reading properly. I mean, I understand not wanting to read through 30 pages to see if someone already addressed the issue. But in this case, the issue was addressed in the following post by me. Brawldud didn't see this and addressed the issue, just as I did. Really, if you don't bother to read one post ahead before replying, then I have to say something about it and see if he realizes this mistake. (See point 2)
I am using a little bit of overemphasizing to prove my point... But my point still stands.

Overall, I think you sort of took my post the wrong way. The self-pity was meant in a comical way. But I did indeed to try to push on the serious matter of people not reading any other posts before replying.

EDIT: Of course my purpose here is more than just pointing out other people's mistakes.

Woah, woah, woah. Chill out here, maybe it's me at fault for not being specific enough...

This is the toopic for ALL of the above, just as I hoped. But really, people pointing out 'wrong evidence, wrong reason or wrong evidence right reason....' is not needed. So from here on I'm renamin this topic, so it suits ALL of the above and the more to come. :godot:

First of all, I'd like to say that I'm not angry or aggravated at all. Even though it may look like I'm losing it, I always keep my composure.
Secondly, none of this is really your fault. Yes, that you weren't specific led me to point out something and that led to this. But by that logic, I can also blame your parents, since they led to your existence, which led to this and so on. I am mostly to blame for this, but I just want my point to get across. Brawldud might also be a little to blame, for not reading posts properly.

But I am glad that one thing has been cleared out. That you can also talk about cases of "wrong evidence, right reason" etc.

Really Nurio... This topic doesn't need to be de-railed any further if you please?

Erm... Anyway:

Spoiler: 1-5
I just realised how linear these games are... But whatever... When cross examing Gant for the first time, he tells you the need of proof for a connection in the two murder cases. I pressed him and found it, so I presented the knife, lost. Then the note, lost... So I had no choice but it to press him on the statement when he tells you to find a connection... No evidence needed. :larry:
