I can definitely see him as being asexual as well. Although I can also see him as being gay. I can't see him as straight at all, though.

Anyway, GAY as a daisy in May.
Although, as people have been saying, I can't see him being all that actively involved or interested in relationships whatsoever. It seems like the sort of thing he would find too frivolous and distracting, plus he's not all that wonderful at communicating with other people outside the courtroom. It would take a real special kind of people person

I'm not sure of that reference. The only remarks that creators have made about Edgeworth's sexuality (that I recall/have read) is that Suekane listed his "preferred type" as "Someone who doesn't lie" in a survey, and Matsukawa confirmed that Edgeworth and Phoenix are never getting together.
But I haven't read all the interviews surrounding Kenji...

Yeah ... It might be downplayed a lot, or they might completly change the characters personalities. Either way, it's better if you don't have a set story - just imagine it in your own way.

As expected! The game's reception would go sour if Edgeworth and Wright got together in canon... Won't stop me from loving the pairing, though. Part of the fun is that it isn't 100% canon!

a) at least some of the audience would probably go into freakout mode. Think about what happened when JKR said that Dumbledore was gay.
b) it would be distracting to the fanbase and the videogames world in general. This is ultimately a series about mysteries and lawyers and evidence and shit. The best way to make all that stuff go into the background would be to go, "Yep, they're hooking up!"
c) it'd also put pressure on the writers and the fanbase, a sort of expectation thing where people would be spending more time worrying about the ship-- and when/how it'll happen-- than the actual game.
d) Capcom have been notoriously ship-teasy about these two, and about other ships in the games. I can't see them hooking up any of the main characters... at least, I'd be really surprised if they did.
e) admittedly, I actually find it more fun that there's that will-they-won't-they-are-they-aren't-they? subtext, and I suspect othr fans do, too. Makes me think of The Simpsons-- for years there was subtext about Smithers/Burns, and yet when they completely outed Smithers and turned him into a flaming stereotype, I dunno, I felt something was lost. Subtext is fun.
