From birth, she's had to go from betrayal to betrayal, losing the ones she loved most. Now she's in jail, because she tried to protect someone. Are you seriously going to imply that despite her good intentioned nature, you're going to hate her?
Why? What possible reason is there? The only think I can think of is because she was Phoenix's only Canon girlfriend, and the shippers out there really hate her because there's a possibility she can take him back.

Proving that there's no possibility that Iris can end up with Phoenix is equivalent to proving 100% that she can end up with him. The current games will not allow that due to their largely ambiguous nature on the question of relationships.
And despite being so miserable, she still manages to keep smiling throughout the whole time.

Sorry to but in, but I would like to share my reasons for disliking Iris. And I think that quote instead of showing why I'd like her, shows exactly why I don't. Well, partially.
No one is that "omg perfectly nice and good always love love happiness, I BERIEVE IN YOU" in the world. She's not what everyone makes her out to be.
She wasn't nice and caring: She was idiotic and an overboard romantic (in the sense that she has her head in the clouds WAY TOO MUCH).
Please, don't tell me that she did all she could for her friends. She did nothing for them, she let them push her around and use her. She was a fucking tool and she knew it and didn't care. If she truly cared for her friends, she would try to help them. Despite what she may insist, did she EVER do anything for Dahlia and whomever? No. She played the part of some pussy who doesn't speak out of turn and stays in the kitchen all day. Yes I went there.
The entire time she knew she was doing something wrong, she accepted it and didn't try to change anything. From GS3, all that I got from her is that she's a crappy friend. Seriously.
And that's why I don't like Iris.
(Wait, isn't swearing tolerated on these forums? Because if not, oops, I've been swearing all this time and I don't see it on the rules...)

@ HerrBlondie It all depends on the situation really doesn't it? Slightly related to that, swearing actually does help you deal with pain. For example, a study found that people swearing while their hands were stuck in scalding water lasted 40 or so seconds longer and reported less pain or something...
