For screwing over his lawyer, inciting Kristoph Gavin's chain of crimes, leaving his daughter as an unecessary burden to a recently disbarred (unemployed) Lawyer that he caused, and then running out for seven years, and finally coming back to actually ruin his career (attempted) again.

It was before Dahlia switched with Iris. But, Yeah on Dahlia. One of the best villains I have ever seen, but man! There were times I was like "What I wouldn't give to torture you"

What really bugs me about her (in addition to the points by SaraVera and others) is that Dahlia gets slapped with the bitch label when her motivation for killing and lying was to save her own arse.
(And Fawles'? I feel like I'm the only person in the fandom who thinks this, but the guy strikes me as extremely suspect. In the pedo sense.

Iris, however, lied repeatedly and for no real reason beyond loyalty to someone who she knew was doing the wrong thing. Furthermore, she could have prevented what went down, but she participated... and then put on the waterworks when she got caught out, playing the naive, childlike victim-- not terribly differently to what Dahlia did-- it's just that people eventually saw through Dahlia.
To me, she's not that dissimilar to Dahlia, except that Dahlia was pushed into survival mode-- Iris on the other hand had a lovely spiritual upbringing and was being looked after by a woman who adored her.
As for telling Phoenix she loved him-- god, my heart broke then; poor Phoenix has been through all that trauma, nearly been killed, had his buddy/adopted little sister/girlfriend/colleague/fag hag/insert other things Maya could be to him utterly traumatised, now orphaned, and Iris then pulls the classicest emotional steamroll and says "I always loved you." Like the poor guy doesn't already have enough crap to deal with.
Dahlia was far more honest than that and she never played the victim once she'd been found out. Iris worked it for all it was worth. I can't stand people who stand by and watch other people suffer because of "loyalty," and I can't stand people who expect sympathy and think "I love you" makes up for a whole heap of awful things they've done.

On one hand, we have awesome female characters. They whip, are lawyers, come back from the grave occasionally, etc. On the other hand, we have this quiet, sweet little person who cries, looks innocent, blushes, and I'm supposed to like her? No. Just, no.
She helped her twin sister almost kill a poor little college student for 8 months, and she supposedly loved this guy. If she loved him so much, she would of stopped Dahlia. Yeah, she's her sister, but I think stopping psychotic murderers comes before sibling love. I don't have a brother or sister, though, so I probably wouldn't understand :\
Then, after the whole 3-5 fiasco is finally resolved, she gets it in her head that if she says "LOL ILU" it'll make everything all sunshine and rainbows again. She lied to him through what may be one of the most emotionally traumatizing events in his life, and she expect everything to be made better? No. I know the whole "the wounds of love may only be healed by the person that made them" thing, but I would find something like that just unforgivable.

I know your post was mostly about Iris, but I completely agree with what you said about Fawles. It was disgusting, that relationship. Dahlia, I imagine she was using him from the start, but he...yeah, he was sick. I forgot about him when I posted the last time. DX

YES!!! I think that bugged me, too-- I LOVE most of the female characters in the series-- they're interesting women who are quite often NOT subscribing to prescribed gender roles and the parts usually occupied by women in gaming. Mia's an established attorney (but we also see her as a nervy and passionate rookie), Franziska is aggressive and arrogant and tough, Dahlia-- love her or loathe her, she's got some extreme tenacity and self-preservation going on (and she's smart; she tries to make the best of a bad situation-- not to mention, she's got moxie), we get Little Plum who is the coolest mom ever-- hell, even the "irritating" women-- Lotta Hart and Oldbag and April May-- have some personality and guts to them.
Iris doesn't. Iris is weak, submissive and has no sense of ethics whatsoever. (And all too often, bad things happen, and bad people get into power not because of their ability alone, but because of the people who follow them and don't question them. Being someone's friend doesn't mean blindly supporting them do horrible things.)

Again, precisely.
I always wonder how people would feel if the genders were reversed; if Phoenix was a girl being duped and nearly killed by twin brothers, and if then one of them went "I always loved you" at the end of it. I think a lot more people would be going, "But that's always what abusive men say to get their girlfriend/wife to not leave."
I don't see why it should work for a woman doing it, no matter how much she cries or how sweet she seems to be. Dahlia looked cute and innocent, too.

Ini is just incredibly irritating to talk to.
Wellington was just annoying. I could not stand his arrogance and his superficial viewpoint towards everything. What makes it worse though is the fact that he's really fricken stupid. So stupid in fact that he lost to a lawyer with amnesia. I truly cannot stand people who THINK they are smart. Also, the way he shakes his head at me in such a condescending way is infuriating.
Regina, however, has got to be the biggest idiot I've ever seen. Her innocence is sickening, and she's just so niave and "cute". Seriously, you find a murder note in your damn pocket AND POST IT ON A BULLENTON BOARD!?!? And the whole, people become starz!!!! thing is just...I don't even know how to describe that. Plus, its just aggravating to see her not give a crap about her father being dead. Even if you follow her broken logic, as a star, she still wouldn't be able to interact with her father at all. I don't blame Acro at all for wanting to kill this moron.
