This may be a silly idea/suggestion, but how about a case select screen, like in the original PW games? For example, each PW game had like 4 or 5 cases for one game.
The idea would let you select up to 4 or 5 fan made cases, and then make a single EXE out of all these cases, thus giving a real PW feel. Of course, fans wouldn't limit their case seelctions to 4 or 5. I would think fans could select up to 10 cases for their select screen and make one EXE that shoots these 10 cases.

But since fans are planning to make tons of scripts, let alone probably a useless idea anyway, which is why my first statement above.

That's what happened with his old 1.3 case maker as I've tested. You can make your case (but rather try 2.0 when tis done), then then export using EXE, which would be only 1 case.

Just curiosity, like most PW cases, will it let you create a storyline/scene at the beginning of the game? In other words, a cutscene, showing the events that take place before the trials and investigations? Ex. being the actual murder scenes, along with the dramatic psychological sounds and music, etc. Phoenix

WIth that, and a penalty system, this trial maker would pretty much be complete. Godot

Nope!

But I'll add it in later!

EDIT: Also, about the case selection screen and such: This Case Maker will support it later.

Thanks for your posts, MJ and HyperJerk. MechaBowser, why was your last version 1.3? That's beyond the initial complete build, but this version two release isn't even going to be complete. I like how you're showing the members the case maker in bits, so they can see how it works. I wouldn't want to do that though - I'd just release a version 0.9 to the testers and then the full build - 1.0. Good luck nonetheless. Looking at the poll votes, I can see it is worth continuing my project after all.

It is. Friendly competition will help both case makers ^_^ (NB: I hope this is the right place to put this next bit, but since could possibly be the home or a DL point for all three case makers it seems a good place to put it)

Ok, I'd better get started on my ‘CaseMaker’ website. It will have sections for all three casemakers (MechaB’s Casemaker, ImplosionX’s casemaker and PWrite) and tutorials for each as well as downloads of the casemakers themselves (Hopefully we’ll have enough space to host them). Also, there’s also going to be a miscellaneous downloads page for things like sound packs etc.

But now we get to the most important bit of the site, the system that allows users to upload their custom cases. Once the case has been uploaded, a checker from the ‘Checking team’ will go through the case and uproot any cases that doesn’t follow the rules and then assign the case a content rating (For people who want dark cases can get them, and it’s going to be in the British BBFC format just because :F) Then, if it passes the checking, users will be able to download the case. (We can’t have non-users downloading any case that’s over PG rating, it’s the only way we can reinforce the rules).

After that, a member of the reviewing team (Probably me if it's the weekend :F) will give the case a review and a Editors score (An average of each bit, like sound, fun, plausability etc.). The users can also give the case a score and review, which will make an Average User Score. But I'll need help to make the site, so if anyone here want to help design or build the site, or be part of the 'Checking' or 'Reviews' team, please send me a PM. I'll give the details of another idea of mine, the 'Phoenix Player' in another post ^_^

That's a great idea, Gerkuman, though, in Phoenix Write's case, cases will be downloaded through the application itself. No using any site. Well, if you want the best cases, that is. I wouldn't even upload any hentai cases people are probably hoping to make, so if anyone has that in mind, don't use my case maker when it's out. As for Mr Implosion, I thought he had given up.

Yes, you could do it that way Shaun. But thats why we have the Checkers, any hentai games or other rulebreakers will be chucked out (Or fake trials, like practical jokes). Anyway, whats to say that the application wouldn't download the cases from THAT site :3 And it allows reviews too.

But it's up to you. It's just that having PWrite cases on the system allows people to find cases from people of ALL abilities. It helps people to grow in their case-making abilities ^_^. So how about all the ones you think are the best can be downloaded through your program, the picks of the bunch and the others could be downloaded through 'Casemakers'

And if we get that many people, we could have a forum too ^_^

It would need a lot of bandwidth, you know. If my case maker gets popular (slim chance in my opinion, but who knows?) then I'd probably need a server to do that kind of thing... not cheap.

I think 'judge' is a better term, more PW-related. Judge They could give any submitted cases a rating out of ten and a comment. We don't know how popular it will be yet though. I bet many case creators would get lazy and give up halfway.

That part of the point really, if we banded together and put the cases on the site, the costs of the server would be paid much eaiser. Instead of 2 people getting different servers you have 1 (fairly) big server and the users of the site could also help contribute ^_^

And the site would also help your CaseMaker to become Popular too.

A Question...

Can I change the guilty/not guilty graphics? I ask because I'm thinking of making a game not involving any PW characters, but you play as a prosecutor, so I'll have to make "Not Guilty" the game over and "Guilty" the victory.

OR you could just run a "Guilty Verdict" action when you win?

Does the guilty verdict action force a game over though, or can you make events after it?

In relation to the guilty/not guilty verdict, I'm hoping that this engine will let the user have teh option to either make it a win, lose, or no action taken for a guilty/not guilty verdict.

As I recall, in PW1 Case 4, there was a Guilty verdict first, then a Not Guilty. We should be able to do something similar to that case.

I don't think I can wait any longer..... Detective Gumshoe

Even though it may lack out a few things, like making intro/ending cut scenes, penalty system, etc, I guess this will have to do for now. Phoenix

BTW, I donno if this would go off topic, but who else was working on a trial maker, besides MechaBowser? Yanni Yogi
