I'm playing Hotel Dusk. There's a plant looking a bit like Charley, someone used the word "gumshoe" and there's a character that looks a bit similar to Adrian Andrews in my opinion, especially from certain angles. There's also a bellboy who ended his first sentence with "pal", a bit far-fetched, but still.) Edit: And now the main character went "that voice".

Hey, guys. I got up pretty late today, but to be fair, there was something big that happened last night.

Apparently, there was a murder somewhere in my neighborhood; the police informed us that it may have just been a family scuffle gone wrong, but they're still investigating. The victim was shot, and when the police arrived soon after, they exchanged gunfire with the suspect. It ended with the suspect dead as well.

No trial this time, I guess. I couldn't help but hear Investigation ~ Core 2007 play in my mind. It also explains why I kept hearing a helicopter circling around nearby that night. It was hot, so I was still half-awake even at 4:00 am. Somehow, I was able to fall asleep eventually... after the helicopter finally stopped circling.

It makes me feel bad that something like this happened. We're usually such a peaceful community here. Thankfully, the scene was far enough from us that we weren't caught up in investigations, but the roadblocks extend past here.

Oh, I got some of the details wrong in my previous post. There was a murder indeed, but it was on the police's part. The victim was drunk and trying to commit suicide, so his family called the police to help. They instead shot him dead for him. He hadn't discharged his own gun even once before he was shot.

I can understand wanting to avoid taking the case to court, but they couldn't be bothered to just injure or disable him? Hospital bills can be expensive, but are they worth saving on in exchange for an innocent life? I doubt it. If anything, the officer responsible should be sent to court himself, but it's not likely he will be, if only because he was following protocol.

I weep for this country's law enforcement sometimes. They're given everything but what they really need.

That's why I hate the health care system. They'll refuse treatment for people who can't afford it. It's really effed up.

I'm not sure where else to post this but...

TAKUMI IS IN FIRE EMBLEM!

At least until the name gets translated into English. Takumi is a new character in the recent addition to the Fire Emblem series, Fire Emblem Fates. This is he:

There's also a Takumi in Shokugeki no Soma. He's a pretty silly and lovable guy even if he's got too much pride to make him that cute. He's also the arbitrary rival character to Soma, so there's that...

Ah, yeah. That reminds me of that "Objection!" reference when Soma was considering what else he could be if he wasn't a chef. A lawyer. Yes, sure, why not.

Due to moving in and painting and stuff, earlier today I had not one, but two stepladders in my home. Now there's just one. I feel like hiding it in the closet and act clueless when my mum and her husband come to get it back.

Or just hide it in plain sight and hope they forget about it being there. I want the stepladder.

I searched for "Guilty love" on Youtube and another song called "Guilty love" by some band called The Vanns appeared. I try to listen to it but only got to hear "ewwowowowo eoowwoo" before the video quit working, and rightfully so.

Yes. You have to own that stepladder. Put a note on it. "Property of Going for Miles." Then they can't take it away. Because if the note says it's yours the stepladder is yours. That's my rule.

I worked in the courts over here in the UK for a short while two years ago (just basic admin) and I was kind of gutted that all the solicitors were not dressed up in blue suits and pink ties or carrying whips.

The courts would be a more interesting place if the solicitors dressed up like GS attorneys, right?! :phoenix: :edgeworth: :franny: :karma: :godot: :apollo:

In Virtue' last reward, they are speaking in Japanese with English text in the translated version too, and one character said "naruhodo". I knew from before that it means "I see", but I've never actually heard it.

Has anyone ever seen someone doing a pose similar to one that a sprite does? Just seen a man doing the hand-up-head shake move which Kristoph does.

This happens a lot if you do spriting.

There's a song on the radio by a band called The Ma-Keyes. :agent-Smith:

Then there's of course other AA-sounding bands like Manfred Mann, Dance Gavin Dance and Phoenix.
And songs such as "Mother of Pearl", "Karma chameleon", "Klavier" (by a band with a drummer called Christoph), "(I'm gonna be) 500 Miles" (it takes all my willpower not to click this :edgeworth: 499 more times now), "DeLite pours out of me", "We Will rock Yew", "Shih-na is a punkrocker" and "Badd". Okay, the last four ones might have been stretching it a little. :ron:

Me and my mum were investigating the laundry room in my apartment today.
Her: There's an ironing board... and a radio...
Me: A stepladder...
Later, while walking out of there, she glances to the side and says: "Hah, a stepladder, yeah." I was proud of her for not forgetting the "step-". Later on she mentioned the stepladder to my grandmother.
