I think what annoys me is the idea that Trilo is supposed to be a different entity. We get it, Ben is the shy guy who can't talk without his puppet, but some of the things "Trilo" says are just proper arrogant, and we know that Ben is obviously behind it, but he constantly hides behind his puppet and goes on about how much he disagrees with Trilo, even when he's on the witness stand. It's like ".....what? This is stupid".

The whole reason Phoenix snapped out of his depression and actually took on Ema's case was because she reminded him so much of Maya

I'd just like to point out Batman's done something like this with the Ventriloquist and Scarface. Take out Scarface, and the Ventriloquist is completely harmless. There were even a few times when Scarface tried to kill the Ventriloquist.

If I don't cop out with a villain then
- I didn't find him funny or charming. I barely know french and even I can tell he's terrible at french and I don't find it endearing. I don't get the whole "court can't tell his gender" joke and after I thought we were Aromatherapy bros he stole my magatama! Then when I try to forgive him, he testifies against me... Why man, why?
- I've lightened up on her but I still don't like how rude she was to Gumshoe. I hate it when people keep being jerks to Gumshoe and I don't care if he gave good testimony. If it's anyones fault then it's Phoenix's for not being able to break it. So don't be mean to Gumshoe. </3

I agree the fact where you hate Engarde. He told his henchman (de killer) to kidnap poor Maya and kill Juan. He's actually a monster. I totally agree with you here.

But just to be fair, I will admit that the battle with Alba plays its role quite well. This is pretty much how fighting a slippery politician IRL would be like... but with extra shouting and Interpol drama. They didn't leave any possibilities out to chance. It may not have been the best choice for gameplay, but for story writing, just fine. And yes, even the lackluster ending is done just right. Somehow, I just got this "bad action movie plot" feeling from it and later laughed it off.

100% agree on the relieving part! But I'd be lying if I said I didn't feel satisfied seeing him shrivel up. Albeit I did find it mildly disturbing.
I'm not the hugest fan of seeing eyes recede into a skull for prolonged periods of time. :P
I haven't played GK2 though yet, but I'm starting today. Super excited!
