My parents don't really pay attention to what I play. They do ask questions sometimes though.
My dad asked once what the game was about and I told him about the concept of the game and then what each case was basically about. At the end of the explanation he was like "What was that? Sorry, i wasn't listening".
I tried to get my sister to play it and she did for a short while until she got to 1-5 and stopped (she didn't even meet Gant!). I've also gotten two friends to play it, they don't seem to be as obsessed with it as I am though.

My dad and I were flying to NY shortly after T&T came out. I was playing through the third case... you all know the one... :flowsers:
He looked at what I was playing... :flowsers:
He kinda made a funny look at that guy... :flowsers: o.0

Whenever he sees someone who acts in a similar way he makes a "Trés Bien" joke.
Slowly PW is getting into our daily lives! Even the people who don't play the games are making PW themed jokes!

Haha, my Global teacher has the worst times remembering names.
"Oh! I'm near the end of the second case with the two sisters and the bellboy identifies that he saw the one guy kill the lady in the picture, and now the other girl's freaking out, it's really funny!"

it took me a minute to piece together what she was saying.

My mom doesn't care about Phoenix Wright.
My dad thinks it's very interesting and when we go to a anime convention this year he's going as :garyuu: and his girlfriend Beth is going as :ema: while i'm going as either Godot, Phoenix or Apollo and my sister will probably go as Sakura from Naruto.

My grandmother listens when I rant about it though.

Heh, "Present"ed it to dad, he liked it generally, hasn't had a chance to play it since (He's out of state right now)

"Present"ed it to mom, who's a big fan of Mysteries and such, she got through the first case tonight, seems to really like it so far, I guess I'll keep ya posted.

My mom saw me drawing a picture of young Edgey and she started giving me crap for it. For some reason, she thought it was real fruity. It couldn't have been the cravat either because I drew him in his 'von Karma' finger pointing pose, and his arm was covering it up.

And then every waking moment I am glued to my DS and mommy hates that as well.

*sigh* She will never understand... I wish I had a cool mom.

Hm. Well, let's go through my family.

My sister gets kinda annoyed with me when all I do is read fanfics, look at pictures, browse forums about the game. And, when I replay the games. *like I'm doing now* She would much rather I finish watching Roswell. I think she likes the basic idea of it, though. I just wish she would play it, but she's really not the video game type.

My dad...plays *some* games. He's a World of Warcraft kinda guy. He's the one that buys me the games when I ask/don't have money. Considering the fact that he reads just about as much as I do, if not more, the visual-novel nature of the game might be good. Not sure if he'd be too into it, though. I'll have to try and ask. But, he's always the one that jokes about it. And, if anything, he's the one I go into the most detail with out of the two parents.

My mom never will. She's not good with technology, nor can she read the small-ish writing.

As far as school goes...hm. My obsessiveness has become something of a joke, especially because I publicize it so on facebook. One guy, in particular, always remarks "It's that Apollo Justice game you're always playing!" when I say I don't have time to breath. Other friends actually sort of listens to me on it--one, in particular, humors me pretty well. I keep telling them to play, so maybe I'll finally get through their heads.

When I first played the game, I had to borrow my bro's DS (didn't get one until Christmas). When I finished it, I lent him the game.
Basically, he became "obsessed". He offered to buy me the other two games (!!) and we can talk about these games for hours. It's sad really. Whenever his friends are over, and we start making PW jokes, they think we're crazy while we're laughing our butts off.

My mom knows more about the games because I've shown her the characters. She thought Armstrong was... interesting. (lol). There was also an issue (which I still have trouble with now) in which I simply cannot do the "Hold it!" in the mic for games 1-3 (AJ works fine! It's just the first three!) Sometimes it works, but rarely. My mom was listening while my bro was trying to help me do it (he gets it every time). She thought it was pretty funny trying to hear us yell "Hold it!" a million times.

Every time I start yelling "Objection!" in the games, my dad asks "Playing that lawyer game again?" he doesn't quite get it; all he knows is that it's a lawyer/detective game that doesn't actually teach real-life law. lol :edgy:

My dad's not interested in games that much but my mom is.
I told her about the game, "You play as a lawyer, it's awesome and includes a lot of puzzles".
She would like to try it, and I will make her play it whenever I find the first game to buy since my brother don't want to lend her his R4.
My dad saw my wallpaper of Phoenix on the computer and said "That looks like some kind of... japanese... stuff."

I've made my mom play games like Monkey Island and Broken Sword, and I actually managed to get her interested in Assassin's Creed as well. (I don't think she'll ever play it herself but she asked a lot of questions about it when I played it. "So, you are going to get some information from that guy?"
"Yes, he knows something about my next target. *kills informer*"
"Why did you kill him!? You said you only needed some information!"
"Hey! he works for my target, if I let him live he will run of to him telling him about me!"
"Oh, right. Can you kill your target now?")

My dad likes to watch me as I play Ocarina of Time or Twilight Princess though. And he actually said that he was interested in Bioshock once.
Also I'm trying to make him play Grim Fandango. He tried it once, years ago, but he couldn't make it out of his office and gave up.
He actually used his own free will to play the beginning of Hotel Dusk recently, so myabe I could make him play PW too...

My parents seem somewhat interested. But they always give be funny looks when they hear "Objection!" yelled for the millionth time.
I think they find the puns really funny.

Me: This person's called Will Powers *laugh*

Mum: *chuckle*

Me: April May *snigger*

Mum: *smile*

But, when I try to describe the cases...

Me: WTF?! This case is retarded! How can it turn into a murder case?!

Mum/Dad: Right...

So... my parents think it's 'interesting'.

Okay so... not a lot new on my situation. My family still isn't caring about the games I play... Well I never got the chance to ask my sis since she lives in Europe but she's coming here for about a month fro summer so I'll have to try my luck there :phoenix: . As for friends, there's some progress finally! I learned from my friend that he liked police/detective things and since he saw me a lot of times coming to CR forums to check for new topics, I finally asked him if he would like to give it a try and... Success!! I lent him the first game and he finished case 1-3 recently and will be starting 1-4 soon... He plays slowly but at least he plays!!!! But as far as I know, he's telling me he really like it so far and that he'll be happy to do the sequels too when he'll be finished with this one :godot: !

So now that means I have at least 2 person(Girlfriend + Friend) I can discuss Pw with! Yayyyy!!!*Runs around randomly*
+1 for the PW community!
One by one we'll convert them all!*hysterical laughter* :gant:

My mum recently called me into her room for a chat to say that she was worried about how much i play it, she said that i play it on and off all day and them when i go onto the computor i read the forums. I'm not even going to bother trying to get her to play the games lol, she wouldn't understand... :phoenix:

My bro was the person who got me playing the games in the first place but i was talking about it today and he said that we'd "exhausted the subject". Apparently there's only so much "wow Edgeworth and phoenix are so hot", "wow Edgeworth is sooo cool!", "you should be strong like phoenix when he breaks down the door in 2-2" and "isn't godot the most awesome person ever" that he can take lol

My uncles a laywer and i asked him about it and now he invited my bro up for work experience with him!...It's not fair i can't do it because i'm to young!

My firends just call it the laywer game so i have no1 to discuss it with at skwl... :edgeworth: i need to convert them so i have someone to obsessively talk to it about, especially as i quote from it all the time with my bro doing the table hit and the point lol. Ooh and aslo it helped when we played articlulate! the word was "cafeteria" and i said "Moe goes there alot in turn about big top" and we won! Mum and Dad said that was kinda cheating because of course they had no clue what we were going on about, but hey we still won!

I'm trying to get my mom to start playing before PortCon '08. I want her to have a clue who I'm dressed up as (young Ema Skye). She asks me on occasion how I like "that detective game". ARRRGH! It's not a detective game! ...Ah well, I'll forgive her. She's already promised to try the game, thankfully.

As for other people, I'm actively trying to "convert" my cousin, Melissa. I email her, since she lives quite a ways away, and my emails typically mention the PW games AT LEAST twice. Usually more. Maybe I should try telling her about the really cute prosecutor... (I think that might actually work. :edgy: )

My mom tried playing 1-4 (That was actually pretty good, but Von Karma scared the hell out of her.) And my Grandmother practically aced it like she played the games before. I was like:

:beef: Where'd you learn that from?!

:oldbag: It's stupid simple Ms. Lawyer...

Yeah, I got owned. And my little bro. actually beat ALL the games (with the exception of AJ). My dad never played and none of my friends have converted yet.

So far, I've only managed to get my mom to play 1-1 and the first part of 1-2. (She's been having eye problems lately.) When the first scene flashed and she saw Sawit (HAHAHAHA *shot*), I knew it was going to be great.

Mom: "Wow. A purple suit. Is he gay or something?"
Me: "HAHAHAHAHA."
Mom: "What?"
Me: "Just wait." *pictures Edgeworth* "Just you wait."

She knows a few things already. I yell "Objection!" "Hold it!" and "Take that!" all the time. Plus, I constantly mention the characters, especially Phoenix, Edgeworth, and Godot. (I've told her about how Godot is the most awesome guy EVER.) She knows the name of the game, finally, and she knows that I named my clarinet and saxophone after PW characters (Edgeworth and Godot, respectively).

And my poor cousin has no idea what she's in for when she visits in August. She'll probably think I'm insane as soon as she sees my room. (I have a wall deticated to PW/AJ pictures.)

I got my siblings hooked on the game, but they still think I'm nuts for being so obsessed with it. My mom has yet to play it, even though I won't shut up. I explained every case for her, as detailed as time permitted, and thankfully she remembers NOTHING I said. She might start soon, though, finally. :pearly:

Yeah, so I thought I'd try showing my mother some of my GS Artbook.

First I showed her a picture of Edgeworth, and tried to start explaining about his awesomeness, but she just said that Edgeworth sounded like a pathetic idiot.

I gave up and showed her a picture of Phoenix and she said this all seemed really sexist, aren't there any female lawyers?

So I showed her a pic of young Mia and she replied "She wears that in court?"

I gave up. Then I remembered she's quite religious and would probably think all that spirit channeling was evil or something.

I've tried explaining some cases to my mom (the only reason she even lets me explain it to her is because she forces me to explain is in Spanish so I can practice.... anyone know the Spanish verb for channeling????) but she barely knows how to use a computer and the only things that pique her interest are games like Solitaire, Spider, Sudoku (her latest puzzle obsession *sighs*) etc. My dad has no time for playing these games cuz he's always either working or fixing stuff around the house. However, I've shown my dad a couple of times and he says that this game is good cuz it makes me think and at least teaches me a few basics about court (honestly, before I played AA I didn't even know who a defendent was O.o). My brothers don't really play it, but they're almost as obsessed as I am because they watch me play alot and I explain alot of cases to them.
I have quite a few friends I've converted at school... and to be honest, I was converted by a friend of mine last year. :phoenix: Recently my cousin's decided to buy some more games and be a little more game-savvy, so I recommended AA (along with Final Fantasy and Trauma Center) and I guess I'll see if she's interested. I doubt it though because AA doesn't seem to interest her and she gets bored easily. She's had Kingdom Hearts for half a year and hasn't bothered to get past Agrabah, so I'm not sure if she'll be able to withstand something where you have to read alot and pay attention. However, I can always try :karma:

My father was interested for some time, even though the only screen he's seen is the Butz crying.

In French.

As for friends, none of them have heard of it that I know. Except one. But I never talk to him. And another, but all he knows is "Objection" "Gotcha" "That Toaster Coffee Guy" and "That Lawyer Game"
