Thanks, but the last two RP threads I started fell into abject failure, so I'm going to wait and see how my third one does before starting a new one.

Well, maybe. Given it would automatically be a conformation that Phoenix was gay (canon wise). Hmm...it would also mean that Dahlia would be male as well.

& 1 female If I were you, I wouldn't presume to know what god does and does not believe. You're welcome to your beliefs, but unless you consider yourself your own personal god (which, to be fair, some people do), it sounds a bit blasphemous to talk that way. But hey, that's just me.
Personally, I don't care if Iris is, or thinks of herself, as man, woman, transsexual, hermaphrodite, etc. It's the person and their personality that matters, not their body parts. At least in my opinion.

It's a complicated head-canon. Iris biologically has a penis, but she still identifies as female because that's how she was raised and that's how she sees herself. In my mind, it's still het. She'd probably be terrified of being seen naked, though.

I was thinking less "futa" and more "feminine-looking man" or "intersexed." It's possible for men to have breasts, and no, I'm not talking about the "man-boobs" that are the consequence of being overweight (Grossberg had some EPIC man-boobs). I'm talking about gynecomastia. Her penis would also be very small. I don't think Iris being biologically male or intersexed is that much of a stretch, actually, but I suppose her biology is irrelevant. She very obviously identifies as female, and no matter what she looks like under her robes, nobody can deny that she's very beautiful.
The flip-side would be if Iris was born biologically female and decided to get a sex change. I think THAT would break a few minds, and probably a few hearts. But, identity is identity, and love is love.

Iris was dumped at Hazakurain when she was a kid. Besides, she's only a nun because 1) it's the only life she knows, and 2) she feels like she needs to atone for her sins. In other words, she lives as a nun to punish herself. She explicitly stated that she hates spirit channeling and all that stuff, so I don't believe that her being a nun has to do with spiritual or religious beliefs. Iris might decide to leave Hazakurain some time in her life.
Anyway, people can't help if if they are born transexual. I doubt that Iris is FtM, but if she was, shouldn't she be allowed to have a sex change if she wants one? She may love Phoenix, but how can you REALLY love someone if you don't love yourself?

Even if she does like men rather than women, that doesn't mean that she feels like a woman on the inside (if she is transgender).
