Until I see a link, or a new topic saying its released, I'm still not convinced that this thing is released.

What the guy said is probably from his views as far as only screen shots go, and the first turnabout remake demo. He probably meant he downloaded the first turnabout remake, I pressume. Unless he downloaded an older version of trial maker, I donno.

Do you have it? ZOMG, can I have the link?

Anyway... back to topic...

Is this out then?

Just to settle everyone down, I'm nearly positive Giga was talking about things in reference to the sample trial.

Yeah, like I want to make a catogory for standing testimonies. Will this option be avaliable in v 2.0?

I just added conditions (or metatags, as some would call them) which allows IF functions.

Like
IF Value5 is equal 0, DO SOMETHING

This can be veeeery useful.

Thank you.

In my game I intend to put an option of whether or not you want to be penalized for wrong answers, since I don't like the penalty system, but I know many do.

Hell yeah. I'm gonna make my case virtually impossible to guess and click with. I'm making this logically, and it requires the player to THINK Dr? Hotti

Ehh that wasn't exactly what I meant.

This would be a good example:
If you want to give the player a piece of evidence, but not if they already have it, you could go:

IF Value0 = 0 then
Add evidence "Rubber Duck of Doom"
Set Value0 to 1
End condition

This way, if the player has already gotten the evidence, he can't have it again.
See how useful it is? Larry

Yes, but I -could- do

-if wrong evidence-
(talking)

if penalize = 1 then
judge: and i'm penalizing you, too
penalize

if penalize = 0 then
back testimony

I got ideas for a couple of test cases like that, but for my game, I need investigation, since it's going to involve finding who committed the crime, then prosecuting them, but this is going to be good.

Also, for 7zip, use this: http://www.win-rar.com/

Seeing how many people are interested in this case maker, there's only one thing I think we need:

A Subforum in The Present Evidence Subforum in which people can ask for help/post their fan made cases.

If you're concerned with the user being able to unzip the files, I'm pretty sure everyone savvy enough to get to this forum and figure out Gigashare's download system has a way to open 7zip files.

Then again, he might be saying he needs the program to be able to open .7z files.

Can this handle cases that branch out nonlinearly? Like, say I put two different contradictions in a witness's testimony. Depending which one you address, the whole trial might go in a completely different direction.

Will I be able to do that?

But only after the case maker is released, and people have made cases for the public. Phoenix

Also, someone said that the case maker would be relased today. I'm still waiting for it! Sadshoe

Most likely won't..... I think the game is being developed with Game Maker, isn't it?

But I'm not MechaBowser, so I can't say for sure. But in theory, I would asume it wouldn't work on macs, unless the software MechaBowser used to create his Case Maker is coimpatable for both Mac and PC windows.

So don't give up hope yet, until MechBowser says different.

Hey Mechabowser:

Since we can guess you aren't rewriting the code from scratch, the cases you have made should have no trouble being ported over to the newer versions as you update it, correct?

If that's the case, why not release what you have now and then release patches that add more functionality to the game? It gives us a chance to get familiar with it, and assuming you don't need to completely redo a case from scratch every time you tweak it. We could add the other stuff when you release updates, such as psylocks, investigation, etc.

BTW, when we make testimoneys and cross examinations, will we be able to cycle left and right through the testimoneys to present evidence and press them? The reason I ask is because the bottom screen changes into 2 boxes of arrows during this process.

I propose that, since Shaun's case maker is not getting enough attention, and since this is kind of half his topic, that all questions get directed, unless they are specific for each one, to both case makers.
