i was browsing here one when my dad came in. I have this habit of closing the window when someone comes in. I like my privacy. But he made open the window. I was looking at a movie poster edited with Phoenix Wright characters I was like "Oh, someone edited a High School Musical poster with some characters from a game I like, that just happens to feature lawyers". I don't think he cared xD.

That is SO something that would happen to me. :keiko:

Except I've learned that even if what I'm looking at is bad (even though usually I'm not), not to close the window. I scroll down or change tabs. It's much less suspicious.

I dunno if I should even show my mom 2-1 anymore, she's pretty much against any game I play.
She once watches me play Naruto Shippuden GNT EX 3 with my friends and says why are we playing games with violence.
Then I go:
"Oh sure mom, wait, lemme get my Pony games and ride horsies and ponies <33"
And then she goes to her room. :godot:

My parents have gotten used to my face being glued to the TV/computer/DS screen. They don't even complain anymore when I stay up until the wee hours of the morning playing; must've just given up at some point. xD

Anyhoo, I showed a video of PW gameplay to my mom once, and she seemed to show interest. Although she wouldn't be able to play it since I'm about a 12-hour car ride away from home (dorms ftw) so only I get access to the DS majority of the time. But my mom's had her fair share of gaming, and she's really into games involving mysteries and forensics, so I think she's gonna get a kick out of PW when she gets the chance to try it out. As for my dad... he has an eye complication, so that's out of the question.

my mum sighs. a lot.

at first she was all pleased with my new interest in a game that was reading, and using logic. And she was even pleased that I was widening my vocabulary to "contradition" and "testimony" two words that before I played PW i would used, but barely.

Now she just sighs at any mention, and it doesn't help that my 10-year-old sister, Maddy, goes on about "Mystic Maya" ALL the time. (she's only played 2 and a bit cases of PW2 an is halfway through PW3, but she's been on the same case for years. She plaays it for maya. and only maya. she played the tres bien case simply for maya in waitress uniform.)

My dad's an air head who thinks maddy's still 8, can't remember anything about my friends and when I say "Kaveir Gavin", "Miles Edgworth" or even "Phoenix Wright", a name that's been in our house for over three years he goes "Who's that? A friend from school?" or, if your veeeeeery lucky, "Isn't that soemone from that TV show you always watch?" What the heck does he mean? The only TV show I always watch is Friends. Or maybe scrubs...

Anyway, I think the line at wich my mum desided to pretend AA didn't exsist, and to just sigh was when I gave her and dad an anniversary card that had a sketch of phoenix objecting with a big "AFFECTION!" written in a comic bubble...

Well, at least Maddy plays it.XP
And I guess having a video game character (even with the AFFECTION thing) on an anniversary card is a bit odd. For the parents, not for me, I guess I would do that too. :keiko:

I let my sis play the 1-1 now she's all OCD over it. She can never find any contradictions and she gets pissed at me if I won't help her or if I don't remember something, then my mom yells at me for being a bully and not helping her at all and apparently I'm evil, so yeah my mom doesn't care much for Phoenix and the gang. Oh, and I don't have that much time to replay any of my fav cases because my sister is so SLOW and she lost her gameboy so she's stuck using mine...

Welll... I play Madden all the time now (49 days till.... Madden 10)

Anyway, I let my littler brother play JFA, and guess what? He acts like Matt all the time now.

My parents like the games, they think they're cool, but they make me play it thorugh in Japanese once, cause I'm half Japanese and therefore they want me to learn their language.

That's it though, really.

Scarily, my dad beat 3-5 with no help from anybody or anything. It's the first case he played. My dad's psycho logical. Like, good at this crap.
Whoever said nothing was impossible obviously never tried to close a revolving door.
"Suspense msuic plays" Oh crap, SAVESAVESAVE! Oh wait, that's my phone. And the caller ID is... MOM!?
"Cornered music plays"

I KNOW! :peal-mia:
My inner dialogue is like this every time she's on screen:

"Damn, she's hot....NO! WAIT! It's really Pearl in there....But she doesn't look like Pearl....NO! You sick bastard! That's a nine-year-old girl....With the body of a hot 27-year-old....THAT DOESN'T MEAN ANYTHING!!...."

And we usually argue like that for about 5 minutes, then drop it and continue the game.

I was able to share the game with my Mother once.

She's got some medical background training so she didn't bait an eye when Cindy was bleeding on the floor.

But she jumped out of her skin when Larry Butz faded into view.

She then put the game down and refused to play it.

They know nothing about it, even when they're with me buying it. My sister played 2-1 and 4-1, and she used to try to steal it, but IMO she's way too dumb to get any of it...and she's almost 10. :lana: Also, thanks to Maya, it made her believe she was psychic...(Plus I probably told her that she was born the same year...)

One time when I was buying T&T at the store with my aunt, I picked out the game and she's like "IT'S A GAME WHERE YOU SOLVE PUZZLES AND MYSTERIOUS AND STUFF...". Like, no really? Why would I pick out a random game without knowing what it was about.

And I also don't know how she knew it...maybe she secretly plays it? :udgy: (She obviously doesn't.)

Well, there have been various reactions at college for me XD. My roommate already knows when I'm stuck in the game because I sigh and turn off my DS. Another friend of mine looks at me in her typical way and shakes her head every time I go off on one of my Ace Attorney talks. One time I did scream out Objection! in class, then broke down into a fit of giggles. One friend answered "We're not in Court"
Though, by now, most of the class knows what Phoenix Wright is...

I kind of forced my mom to play. XD
I can't think of anything really funny she's said, though. My mom is a little weird... weird as in she likes anime and stuff, so she didn't see anything odd about the game. :yuusaku:

My dad thinks it's caused me to go crazy, though, when I begged him to take me to a GameStop like a 40-minute drive from my house so I could buy T&T. And then proceeded to yell "Objection!" and "Take that!" all the way home and until about midnight. lol

Funny story 'bout this one...

Well, my mom had read all my fics and loved them, and wanted to know where all this stuff came from, so I let her play AJ (Case 4-2). I thought she would think it was boring, but man she was having a blast! I had to help her out a few times thought, but she was actually pretty good at it! The funniest things were her comments on Klavier (Me- He's the prosecutor Mom- He can prosecute me anytime Me- LOL). So far I think her faves were Phoenix, Klavier, Apollo, Trucy, Plum, and even Wocky. She busted a gut when she first saw him! And oh yeah, she also said she wanted to smack Stickler in the face for being so annoying.

So yeah, she had fun playing the game!

As for my dad... Clueless. :yogi:

My mum loves it. It got me wanting to take Law at college, so she's cool with it. She even payed for half of AJ! I havn't got around to forcing her to play it yet though.

Whenever I shout objection into the mic, my dad randomly shouts it.

And I tell my mum about it, and she once said: "so, will you wnat to be a lawyer when you're older?", but most times she just doesn't listen. I tell her some of the funny lines though.
