I'd say JFA, because it features Frannie, the Psyche-Lock system, the return of Edgeworth, and the fourth Case where
Spoiler:
Phoenix realizes that his client really is a killer.

That was the most amazing, not to mention the hardest (especially near the end), case I've ever played; I had to look through the walkthrough to finish it.

but PWAA still gains points for the luminol and fingerprint testing in case 5; that was an awesome feature.

I like the first one better Oops probably because :
1) I love Rise from the Ashes
2) the BGMs are cooler
3) Edgeworth is everywhere!! Yay!! :P :P

Let's compare in my subjective way:

Case 1's: In spite of being a tutorial AA1's Case 1 was still enjoyable and funny. It was a great beginning,
To be honest, my least liked case is 2-1. I didn't like the whole amnesia thing, Maggey was antipathic and although it's a tutorial (is it?), it was harder to point out the contradictions than in some later cases.
Spoiler:
That left-handed baseball glove thing... It requires knowing the rules of the baseball (which is not that popular in Europe).

Case 2's: i found both of them interesting and exciting. Both had one thing I didn't like about them.
In AA1,
Spoiler:
Phoenix is defending himself LOL? Is it even allowed?

In AA2,
Friska with her whip. Is it even allowed to use in the court? I also hated her arrogance and "fooling". I prefer Edgeworth to her very much.

Case 3's: Simply, AA1's case 3 was more interesting and contained much less annoying characters.

Case 4's: Both of them were very good, but case 2-4 was my favourite of all.

Case 1-5: I see a lot of you likes it, yes, it was long, twisting, cool and interesting, but not as "touching" as 1-4, 2-2 and 2-4 were.

Investigation in general: Obviously, with the psyche-lock system, and the possibility of showing profiles (and in general the events) made JFA much better in this.

In court: I'd pick AA1. In AA2, we could make much less mistakes ("one-chance" and the fact that psyche-lock health bar and courtroom health bar are the same - it does not make any sense anyway). Also, Case 1-5 was very interactive with the video and all.

I did not mention characters (Pearl is SO CUTE for ex :), the music and other things, but in conclusion:

Almost a tie, but JFA won at me.

Wow, Mikker and Skankin Garbage really have their own courtroom battle going on in here. (Cue Pursuit - Cornered...lol)
Hmm I guess Ive already posted here but I have to say that I think you two have very extreme opinions on these two games. They each have their own strangths and weaknesses. Personally, I cant understand how Skankin Garbage could even attempt to defend the music in JFA, with the exception of a few tracks. For example, the cross-examination music in JFA was very poorly done, in my opinion, wheras AA had the second-best C-E theme (T&T takes the prize, I'm afraid.)
As far as first cases go, I have to agree again with Mikker that some of the contradictions in JFA Case 1 were the hardest in the game (sadly), i believe that the overall revelations in JFA are much more fascinating and original then in AA.

Oh, and by the way, how dare you say that AA Case 2 was better then JFA Case 2?! Beef AA Case 2 had NO turnabouts or suprises whatsoever! Ka-Whip The only thing that it has going for it is Redd and April! Bling Bling April May
...anyway, that was what I really wanted to say. You have my opinion... do with it as you will. Will Powers

I think the boobs did it. April May

Yeah, I like both games pretty equaliy - though I DO have to say I like the first better than the second.

Yeah...make no mistake, either - I don't dislike the first game; however, I think it's pretty mediocre, and I doubt I would have continued being interested in the series had I played it first (Having just replayed cases 1-2 and 1-3 this week, I feel like my opinion on that has definitely been reconfirmed). Hell, a fair amount of the points I brought up against Mikker were not due to the fact that I disliked them or even disagreed, but rather just to point out that the same problems exist within the first game, especially the tangent about Sal Manella - I could really give a rat's ass if he used leet-speak or not.

why are you all only talking about 1 and 2? doesn't anyone think 3 is the best? I certainly do. I can't really compare the music because I can't recall the individual ones from each game (and I can't listen to it again because I borrowed them all from a friend) so my opinion is based all on stories and characters. 3-1 was nice because it felt so good putting dahlia behind bars. 3-2 is genius (because of luke) 3-3 was great becuase of :igarashi: and :chef: . 3-4 had some of the most shocking revelations of any case, but 3-5 was the greatest because it wraps up all of the goodness of all the other cases and also gives you a good feeling for ridding the world of dahlia for good.

They're only talking about AA and JFA because this thread's from 2007 XD

But seeing as I'm here, I think that all the games have their flaws, and cases that are quite boring. For example, I love AA, but I personally think that 1-2 wasn't very interesting. I also don't really like JFA, but absolutely adore 2-4. I pretty much liked T&T, except for 3-2, which I found boring. AJ wasn't bad overall, but I dislike the second and third cases (And no. It doesn't have anything to do with the fact that Kristoph isn't in those cases.)

In terms of music, AAI has the best soundtrack, but out of the first four, AJ and T&T are tied IMO, but that probably has something to do with how they're the last two in the main series, and the music improves with every game.

And off topic, but I see you are also an Ace _____. Welcome to CR!

For me, T&T is my favorite game. The cases were good ( i don't like 3-2 though because of the annoying Mask(*)Demasque song). I also like the soundtrack.

:godot: is an awesome Prosecutor even though he never won a case. I really like the final case because it so awesome.

If we are talking about the first 2 games, I'd pick AA cause I like the cases their compared to JFA. I also liked the characters and soundtrack.

Ooh, tough call... In terms of flaws, AA had 1-2 (the entire case sucked IMO), JFA had... nothing I can think of, T&T had Godot and AJ had 4-4.

On the other hand, AA had... nothing spectacular, JFA had amazingly emotional cases, T&T had... also nothing spectacular, and AJ had 4-3 (I like filling plot holes, sue me).

Considering all factors (not just the ones listed), I'd say I like AJ the best.

I'd say Trials and Tribulations is my top favorite. The charming characters, the tricky and clever cases, playing as Mia
Spoiler:
and Edgeworth
, and of course the awesome bastard that is Godot.

The first one is probably my second favorite, Justice for All in third, and Apollo Justice in the far distant about-to-be-lapped last.

Trials & Tribulations.

I loved playing as Mia, and I loved the whole thing with Dahlia, and I loved the music, and I loved Godot.

I don't think I hated anything about that game. :udgy:

Nombre 1 wins for story and cases, I reckon. (although while I did kind of like Rise from the Ashes, it wasted way too much time)

I honestly couldn't say about gameplay. All of them had some fairly stupid parts.

For me:

Most Favorite-
Trials & Tribulations- Pretty much all the cases in the game were awesome, the characters were awesome, the music was awesome... The whole thing was just awesome! :D

Least Favorite-
Justice For All- To me, it had some of the weakest cases out of the whole series (Except 2-4), and the music wasn't all that great either. I don't think it's as good as the others in the series.

The other two games lie somewhere in the middle for me.

Most favorite was definitely T&T, where you delve into Mia's and Phoenix's past, and see everyone's backgrounds intertwine with each other to form a scrumptious game of awesomeness.

Plus the filler cases were also very good.

------------

I guess my least favorite of the three would be JFA, because it had no over-arching plot (although 2-2 was related to case 5 in T&T)

It's sort of the reverse of the old rule for Star Trek movies - the odd-numbered games, so far, are the best. But even the weakest installment (JfA or AJ, depending on my mood) was still a really, really good game. These people know their quality control.

I like JFA best... :bellboy:

It only had three cases besides the tutorial (and the only tutorial case I like is 4-1), but I liked all of them. Yep, even Turnabout Bigtop. Plus it has lots of Franziska. x3

I gotta say that JFA was definitely the best game...because no one totally and completely loveable dies, Edgeworth turns nice and the ending is actually really happy and nice. You also meet a bunch of nice people and all the bad people go away...

Nice people such as:
:pearl:
:adrian:
:maggy:
:cards:
:no-no: (well, she's not NICE but she's really cool)
:shelly: (again, not nice but cool!)
