I thought it was Larry...?

Yeah it was Larry he wanted to save. He wanted to meet Edgeworth in court and find out why he became a prosecutor.

Why would it be Larry at that point? Three years passed before Larry got into some serious trouble.

As for it counting as foreshadowing for Larry ("to save a friend of his," which he eventually did), it could work. But I'm pretty sure Phoenix was talking about Edgeworth.

Later, in court, Adrian pleads the fifth when asked about...Something. (olol I forgot. derp)

Dunno if this counts but:

In 2-4 when Maya is at Matt's house, she says "Waw what a big TV, I would die a happy samuari fan if i could watch it on this. I cant believe i just made a joke about my death....considering the circumstances" or something to those lines....

When Phoenix Comes in With Edgeworth he says " Wow what a big TV, Maya would die a happy samuari fan if she could watch it on this. I cant believe i just made a joke about her death....considering the circumstances"

Maybe they just think the same way....

2-3 foreshadows 4-1.

2-3: Max, the defendant, whacks the oddball Ben on the head with a juice bottle.

4-1: The defendant is accused of killing a mysterious man by hitting him on the forehead with a grape juice bottle.

I have no idea if this counts as foreshadowing, but during Phoenix's nightmare in 2-1, the Judge says, "You are no longer worthy of your title!"
And then Phoenix gets disbarred a few years later.

Really? I thought it foreshadowed his first loss in his career as an attorney (2-4)

His title was something along the lines of "Undefeated" or "Ace Attorney", I'd wager. His career was defense attorney.

Not really, when you think about it. Even when Phoenix lost, he's still an Ace Attorney. Take Edgey for example. He didn't win all of his cases, yet people still regard him as a genius prosecutor.

But I like your theory too.

I just ran into one playing 1-3! :O

When you're in the Studio 2 trailer, examine the poster on the left.
Phoenix reads that it was a samurai musical starring Jack Hammer, and wonders what samurai could possibly sing about. Then Maya starts going on about how she's loves it, etc.
Then Phoenix says something along the lines of: 'A samurai musical? What's next, a ninja ballet?'

Ninja ballet = :juan:/Jammin' Ninja ? =/

I noticed something while I was playing 2-4.

Spoiler:
If you pick the wrong piece of evidence at the very end of the trial (either the bellboy costume or the pistol instead of the video tape, Engarde is acquitted and you see an ending where Phoenix quits his job as a lawyer because of it. Possible AJ foreshadowing?

I'm pretty sure this doesn't count as foreshadowing but it was very funny...I recently re-played 1-4 and When your in the park with larry (I don't exactly remember what larry says) and he says something stupid and Phoenix is like to himself: "Someone should whip this guy into shape."

3-5 anyone? :franny:

I think that's more a case of Chekhov's gun than foreshadowing, myself.

The bits of unintentional (I expect) foreshadowing I can think of are all the cracks about Maya beating Phoenix at cards (I don't remember if it's ever specified as poker) in 3-3. Except that's less foreshadowing than complete contradiction, but at least it implies Phoenix likes to play, even if he can't beat Maya.

Sometime during 1-2, while cross-examining Gumshoe, the player can make Phoenix say something like "the murderer could have been me". He later gets accused of murder.

Not sure if this counts, but if you show the Revolver to Valant in 4-3 in the Stage Area, Apollo will make a comment that Valant wasn't very happy that he saw the revolver. Not sure if it referenced Magnifi's death or Thalassa's accident, but I know it's one of them (or even both).

In Volume 2 of the Phoenix Wright manga (the Miles Edgeworth Files), there's a little manga where Edgeworth says, "Don't you think I should have been the main character of Ace Attorney, Wright?" There's some foreshadowing in 3-3 (which foreshadows 3-5):

- Godot presents a piece of Maggey's uniform, which has some "blood" (ketchup) and a coffee stain
- the piece of maggey's uniform is white
- Godot doesn't notice the ketchup, but notices the coffee stain

Godot not being able to notice the ketchup on the piece of uniform becomes a vital part of 3-5..... because it reveals that Godot can not see red on a white background.

That screwdriver from 1-2 has always proved itself mysterious to me...
Spoiler: 1-5
In fact, I think said screwdriver showed up again when Gant wanted Edgey to put it in an evidence locker.

Spoiler: A thought
Assuming that it is the same one, doesn't that mean another murder happened involving that screwdriver? It didn't show up in the Court Record in 1-2, yet it became evidence at some point, most likely after that case. Perhaps we'll have the "Screwdriver Murder"?

Either way, plus points for the Gatewater Hotel!

Spoiler: 2-4
And regarding the Shelly card with Nick's face doodled on it; I think that's a strong indicator that Phoenix will become a lawyer again.

Spoiler:
I believe it is supposed to be one and the same. Edgeworth mentions it came from a case that "wrapped up half a year ago." 1-2 takes place early September 2016, 1-5 in February 2017. That's about five and a half months, give or take a few days. Close enough to half a year. It's possible Edgeworth came across the screwdriver after the wiretapping was revealed in court (or before), and then was the only one to make a note of it.

that does actually make just a little bit of sense...

Yogi would have to have been a verrrrrrry young dad, though. He's 52 in AA... fast forward 9 years later (7 years after T&T) to AJ, and Eldoon is 46.

Doing the math...

52 (Yogi's age in AA)
46-9 = 37 (Eldoon's age in AA)

52-37 = 15 year age gap

Yogi would have to have been a young teen dad... which, yes, is possible, but not likely.

My God, I never thought of that. That is interesting.

Ah, that's not official manga, it's a doujin complication, so it doesn't count and it was released only after 1-5. Though you could say the TGS GS4 Court Case is foreshadowing GK when everyone thinks the new protagonist is Edgeworth rather than Apollo. (Edgeworth even goes "not this again" when everyone thinks he'll be the new protagonist in the TGS GK Court Case.)
