Does anyone remember in Justice for All when Phoenix makes reference to
Spoiler: JFA, and 3-5
how he can't forget how von Karma gave him an extra-special taste of evil or something?

That just creeped me the hell out. Like he had come out of dealing with von Karma entirely traumatised.

Regina: that girl was just disturbingly naive and that creeped the hell out of me. Something about the combination of cute and darkness and extreme naivete-- same with Viola, actually-- was seriously creepy.

Iris's "I always loved you" comment disturbed the hell out of me, too.

(And I think Miles' interest in the "bikini lady" was more mild curiousity and a level of "Oh gawd, I want to get this over and done with" rather than some kind of lusty hormone-driven thing, personally.)

He and Gant were old friends, weren't they?

Now, it's becoming clearer and clearer to me how that came to be.

Spoiler:
Oddly enough, I'm going to go against the grain, and claim that Viola wasn't exactly creepy, from my viewpoint. Nonetheless, I'm in agreement with you about Regina 100%.

This.... is not so much a disturbing quote as a disturbing action, and this was only in my first playthrough, but
Spoiler: T&T
when Godot didn't notice the ketchup stain on Maggey's Apron. It.. was just very odd. It was disturbing that Godot didn't notice something that even Gumshoe or Larry Butz could spot easily. Of course, everyone knows why he didn't see it later, but at that time it was kind of creepy.

Also, there was some photographs and crime scenes were disturbing. I think the one that disturbed me the most was Dr. Merakitis choking Altia with the lamp cord. The stillshot of Joe Darke with the knife, and the DL-6 and SL-9 crime scenes photos also come to mind. Though those are meant to be disturbing.

1-4:
Phoenix: I'm going to run this over you, and see what we find!
1-5:
Angel: Care to join? The "yet another boyfriend" position is still up for applicants.
3-1:
Grossberg: Unngh... It feels like my hemorrhoids are doing the Harlem Shake!
(Especially when that case was in April 2013. Harlem Shake became a meme two months before.)

Also, any time Nick shows off his attorney's badge.
And anything that comes out of :hotti: 's mouth

That is pretty amazing timing, huh? I actually never considered 3-1's date when HS became a meme, but I did always giggle because it reminded me of Grossberg.

Oh yes, disturbing indeed. :sadshoe:

When you talk to the bellboy about Miss April May.
Bellboy ( :tea-set: ): Oh, her? Sir, not to boast but I knew the moment I saw her... "She'd do it!" I said.
Phoenix ( :ack: ): (Do WHAT?! I'm starting to think the most suspicious person here is this guy!)

I have to say, I don't quite see the point of sugarcoating when I'm talking about someone dead. Okay, it's one thing to be disrespectful, but if the person was terrible, it's kind of pointless to not say so.

In Case 3-3, when Phoenix talks about "Max' ample bust"... creeps me out. Men with boobs... *shudder* Overall, it's a pretty funny thing to talk about, especially with Phoenix saying that he doesn't really like talking about the ample bust, but still the imagery is terrifying.

She's absolutely terrified, gets all her secrets exposed and Edgeworth keeps putting on the pressure. I must applaud whoever made that sprite, it's incredibly well done and catches the moment perfectly. And while I understand why Edgeworth did what he did, I found that scene very powerful.

Edit: Oh, we're just talking about quotes that could be misinterpreted as suggestive? My mistake, I apologize.

No, no, just stuff that disturbs us - whether it be because it's suggestive, creepy, confusing or something else. As for your example, I personally found that to be a great quote, it showed Edgeworth as a dick, but I felt it was worth it.
Although, legally speaking, making somebody's medical history or issues public without consent of the person, plus the persmission of the doctor who treated her, I suppose, is absolutely forbidden and he could go to jail for that. Or, at least, get a huge fine.

It is a great quote at a very interesting part of the game, to be sure. And I'm glad they showed Edgeworth capable of going that far, as it stood in contrast to Phoenix.

I don't remember everything he said, but didn't he just bring up her co-dependency? I'm not sure she was treated for that. Did he ever bring up her attempted suicide? Oh well, I feel like a lot of people get away with much worse in that world.

Nah, in court Edgeworth just said Adrian had "an illness" that caused her to attempt suicide in the past. The co-dependency (or really, just dependency) was mentioned in the conversation he had with Phoenix at Criminal Affairs.

Adrian's attempted suicide made up the second part of Celeste's suicide report, so it was on record somewhere. I'm not sure if it means she was treated for it (though depending on the method of suicide, and how far along she was in the attempt, she may have at least been hospitalized for the physical treatment/recovery). It is suggested she talked to somebody about it, because Edgeworth also knew that Adrian spoke of how the world turned dark around her after Celeste killed herself.

I know first hand what attempted suicide is like. I attempted it when I was 12, as my Grandmother, my cousin, and one of my closest friends died within the same year. I also went into therapy. Due to this, the whole suicide thing in 2-4 really spoke to me.

I think the caveat of those types of things is they CAN be used for legal purposes, like if you're actually arrested/suspected for a major crime. The police have the authority to get 'private' things like that released, particularly about psychological/psychiatric matters.
After all, criminals are often psychiatrically disturbed, and they wouldn't be differentiating between that and more harmless types of supposed psychological malfunction, not without evidence.

Anyway that scene does make Edgeworth look like a jerk. Although the entire plotline is very interesting.

Getting back on the actual topic of the thread, I don't have a quote, but the entire concept of Trilo 'marrying' Regina (and what would happen re: Ben) was one of the most disturbing things in the games.....

The prosecution is technically not the police.

For another, even if the psychological matters would be important to consider regarding the killer or a potential suspect, it would still require some paper work and leg work and time to actually be officially allowed to reveal personal information in that matter. Edgeworth would have to talk to the doctors and psychiatrists who treated Adrian after her attempted suicide, get their permission to reveal this - there is a legal document that releases doctors of their oath of secrecy.

Then again, what am I doing, demanding actual law workings in Ace Attorney, where even the dumbest person would know to not touch something at a crime scene.

I can't believe I missed this one...

Spoiler: 2-3, Acro's room
Maya: Hehe... It's a monkey calendar!
Phoenix: Whoever's in this room must really love monkeys.
Maya: Maybe a little too much...

In Acro's condition?! Now that's a hard sell... pun intended.

Indeed she does.
But I must admit, I was wondering what she originally meant by that... Pussy? Penis? Poopy-head? And I am wondering what the original line was... I played that case in Japanese once, but I can't remember the line itself...

From Investigations:
Edgeworth: "Defendant's Fresh Milk!"... What exactly is that supposed to mean?
Franziska: I bet it means that the milk is freshly milked by various defendants on trial right now.
Edgeworth: No, I think it might mean that this was milked right here from the various defendants.
Franziska: Miles Edgeworth... You can't possibly be serious!
Edgeworth: ...Of course not.

If he really wasn't serious, he wouldn't need to include a dot dot dot.
