I love AA so, how it is affected me:

-It taught me to think critically and become more logical
-Ema made me love science (She's my favorite character. period.)
-I love defense attorneys who are like Phoenix and fight for 'not guilty' client. I used to not care about court.
-I only want to cosplay AA. (Ema, Pearl, Alita, Trucy.)
-I'm pretty much obsessed.

All of this for me.

Also.
-Made me start yelling "OBJECTION" and "HOLD IT" in arguments.
-Made me start doing hand motions like them also. Mostly Edgeworth.

It made me feel sorry for paranoid-schizophrenic suspects who get framed and executed for that one murder they didn't commit *cough*Joe Darke*cough*.

well, this has probably already been posted a couple times, but

; AA made me think SERIOUSLY about my future, what i want to be, etc

do i want to be a defense attorney; even though it would be nothing like being phoenix?
i mean, even if i'm certain that my client is guilty, i can't just lose
but, could i play dumb?
would that work?

or

do i want to be a prosecutor; this is one of the more easy decisions to make, because the real police wouldn't make as many mistakes as the AA police.
but, if i put away the wrong person, then i would be ruining someones life, AND the real culprit would still be loose.
thus destroying 2 life's, as if i was a defense attorney, and got the real culprit acquitted, only 1 life

either way, being an Attorney is a hard decision to make, you really need to think things through...

but, what about a detective?

that way, i would be able to put away criminals, and not worry about the police not doing things right, because i would be out in the field.

but, that occupation is also the most dangerous, and since i have no self-defense skill's, i would probably be killed after not even a week on a case.

so, as you can tell from my long post, that's just how AA has affected me in one way; choice of career

Hmm, see, this always bothers me. Even knowing that being a lawyer will be SO MUCH different than depicted in the AA games, do you really know? If you did, then why wish to become one in the future? It's the CSI effect, really. People wanted to become forensic investigators and the like after watching CSI, only to be disappointed.

Ace Attorney has replaced Kingdom Hearts as my No. 1 game obsession. So much, in fact, that I completely forgot that Kingdom Hearts: Birth By Sleep came out in America this week.

@Ace Spartan- LOL so did I! I still love KH, but AA feels more... Fresh, since I'm still sort of new to the series.

This, except replace "Kingdom Hearts" with "Harvest Moon." I feel terrible that I can only handle one game obsession at a time...

I don't know if it has profoundly affected my view on life yet, although I expect that is happening on some subconscious level...

But what's immediately noticeable is just all the little things that stem from obsessiveness.
The uncontrollable smiles and giggles when I hear a name or see an item that reminds me of something in the game (I CAN NEVER LOOK AT A STEPLADDER OBJECTIVELY AGAIN)...
...the desire to start using words such as "objection" and "contradiction"...
...the adoption of :think-think-think: as my official thinking pose while doing homework or reading discussions (plus plenty other sprite imitations along the same line)...
...the spending of about 14 of the past 24 hours surfing Court-Records.net... :lana:
...oh yeah, and

Hmm, let's see.
~I pay more attention to things going on in my area and keep up with the trials (everything from robberies to murder/manslaughter).
~I started watching Court TV again.
~I thought about a career in law, but I realized it would be nothing like Ace Attorney, so that was scrapped.
~One of my characters in my RP is now a lawyer. (RPing with my friend and it has no relation to Ace Attorney.)
~I often get a horrible urge to slam on my counter at work and shout OBJECTION whenever someone starts to annoy me.
~I don't just bow, I do an EDGEWORTH BOW. Because he's so hardcore. XD
~I...I discovered I have a suit fetish. Seriously, if I see a man in a suit I have to look away or I will start to squee. Well, are you going to laugh at me? Then laugh, laugh! Well? Why aren't you laughing? :edgeworth:
~I think this game is when I went from kind of liking Yaoi to a hardcore yaoi fangirl. So much Ho Yay between Phoenix and Edgey. XD
~Also, I started spriting a little bit. I'm not great, but my artwork has improved quite a bit as a result.
~My eyes have gotten worse from said spriting. (Among other things, but staring at all those itty bitty pixels doesn't help.) :sadshoe:

Before playing those games, I never noticed or cared when the words "Court", "Lawyer" or "Prosecutor" came up in the news.

Now, everytime the anchor says something among the lines of "The Prosecution is now investigating regarding the suspicion of possible corruption." I see Edgey questionen a man on a uncomfortable chair before my mental eye.

And I actually did some Wikipedia research regarding our Austrian court-system.

Oh, also, I started watching cheap german courtroom-shows, just to make fun of how pathetically childish everyone is behaving. Seriously, compared to those guys, the AA-wittnesses are ANGELS, Franziska is a saint, Von Karma is perfectly normal and Phoenix a shy violet. :nick-sweat:

I'm so glad actual trials aren't like this ridiculous stuff on the TV. Really.

I used to hate even hearing the word 'law', because it sounded complicated and somewhat stupid since at times the law feels unjust and made no sense. But after playing Ace Attorney, I became OBSESSED. I stayed up late at nights to play the game, read fanfics, browsed fanarts etc. and I grew a very large interest in Criminal Law. To be honest, I only chose to buy it because I liked the art and all I knew was that it was a point and click game so I didn't need any special gaming skills, so I picked it off the shelf and tried it out. And boy, did I love it.
Before, I was only interested in drawing and manga (still am) and I had no idea what kind of future I wanted, probably just going with the flow of my interests. But because I suddenly had this interest in Criminal Law, it made me take my school work more seriously (as in which subjects I should take). My brain worked better with analysing statements (though I am still rubbish at it, and went through a phase of ranting on about contradictions in testimonies and going "Objection!"), but on the down side I felt I was only interested in the game, which the story and concept were excellent, rather than law itself. So I reconsidered my options (also because I'm not a bright student, in fact, you could say I'm an idiot, and I'd agree with you) and considered Criminology. I guess I had some sort of realisation that I enjoy looking into the minds of criminals. Before I liked looking at dead bodies. :hobohodo2: I still kinda do, but I needed to start thinking about my future a little more carefully, and not only be influenced by CSI and operations I see in television.

I have always been interested in Law as a professional career. But I've always thought that Tax or Corporate would more better suit my personality. :gregory: The Phoenix Wright series has lead me to quite the "turnabout."

After falling in love with the series, and playing it start to finish over the summer holidays, I've reconsidered my future goals as I reenter school. I now wish to study Criminal Law, and ultimately, become an Ace Attorney!

On a more serious note, this series has had profound philosophical affects on my ambitions. I no longer wish to become a wealthy corporate fat-cat as I have wanted my entire life...I want to help the helpless, just like Phoenix, while still doing what I would love to do.

I guess, in my own personal way, I've experienced a character evolution just as Edgeworth did. I entered the series, not thinking much of it. The character Edgeworth was instantly appealing, because he reminded me so much of myself- cold, rational, scientific. As the story progressed, my opinions, emotions and eventually, ambitions, transformed. Thank you Capcom for inspiring me to become a Criminal Lawyer and put the truth above all else. :phoenix:

SOOOO TRUE >D
I did take a look at one of those just 2 days ago, because I randomly felt like it ~
I srsly request someone make a PW sprite version of the "Switch" Parody with Richter Alexander Hold. I'd do it myself, but I'm lazy.

- "OBJECTION! OBJECTION! OBJECTION!" - "OBJECTION! You STILL cannot object in Germany!"
- "OBJECTION!" - "Overruled" - "OBJECTION! You cannot overrule an OBJECTION that doesn't EXIST!" - "You're right there proesecution, Objection sustained!"

As for the actual topic here...
Actually thinking about it I don't think that AA has that big of an influence on me yet other that I fangirl over it - but it is still just a game. Other than that I can't help but think of the characters whenever the names come up in movies or whatnot (I'll never be able to call my children Mia or Maya anymore - I loved those names even before I got to know this game :<) which is kinda a basic influence I guess...

Not as usual might be the fact that I called Objection during our meeting this morning and dubbed the palm I adopted from a fellow worker who left us a few months ago "Herr Charly" x3
Naturally, my colleagues were oblivious to the joke.
Foolish fools.

AA is phenomenal. It was the first and only game that challenged me mentally to find the truth. I felt a rollercoaster of emotions going through the story of the trilogy and provided me with something I can hold on to. And I have discovered a forum with which I can discuss anything about it. :will:

On a not so serious note:
I'm currently trying to design papercraft templates for some of the characters. DAMN Apollo, I can't get your spikes right fffffffffff
Also currently HUNTING DOWN the first game. Harder to find than the Holy Grail nowadays.
Everything I do/say/hear/see relates to Ace Attorney somehow. Seriously, 2 of my friends (completely oblivious to AA *gasp*) had the ladder/stepladder argument, and there I was struggling to breathe from laughing like an idiot.
FANFIC/COMICS. This and this, respectively.
And I got told by my AA friend that I speak like Edgeworth, with my long words and all. I immediately responded with 'Ergo' XD

On a slightly more serious note:
Whenever something big happens in my life, I imagine how characters would react.

:odo-objection: Objection! Umm.... I... object...I guess...?
:judge: ...
:minuki: ...
:kyouya: ...
:rock'n:
:judge: ...Penalty.

On a pretty serious note:
I'm at that stage in life where you have to decide on what you want in your future, and I know this has probably been said a million times already, but I really want to go into law. Before, I thought it was all paperwork, strange wigs and 'objection' (at least that part is consistent with AA). This series has shown me another side to the law, and even though I know it won't be all pointing, throwing coffee and air guitaring, I want to do it anyway.

Wow, that was a long post. I'll shut up now.

The O key on my laptop doesn't work properly asdghjkl *goes back to put letter o in the word laptop*
:odo-objection: This. This is my favourite character in AA. Live with it.
:rock'n: This. This is my favourite prosecutor in AA. Live with it.
Signed, AJ fangirl =P
