Dahlia, what a pretty alto voice! how would you feel about trying one of our songs, so we can hear you with accompaniment? TB has some really great songs for the female roles linked in his sig.

Also, if you want to know how to officially audition, check the recruitment section of our web site: http://www.popdrivel.com/
You can find out how to audition for a writer too, if you're interested.

:) Thank you!

I have some questions, though...Sorry to be a pain.

1. FFGirl told me to sing one of "your" songs, so I can be heard with accompaniment...Do you know where there are copies of tracks without people already singing-like they are in TB's sig-or should I sing over them?

2. Also, is it okay if I sing a song already done by someone else? (ie, "Justice for All").

3. Finally, are there copies of the sheet music, so I can know what the notes/words are? ;)

There should be some on the site... http://www.popdrivel.com. If not, poking around on people's putfiles and lastFM sites usually have them. :)

Of course! Many people are trying out for the same roles.

Sheet music? Notes?! We have no such thing here! :P

Mostly we just listen to the original demos of a song, and then learn it and re-sing it. Lyrics, though, can be found on the site. :)

1) My sig links directly to the album with the vocals and the accompaniments. If you click on my name at the top, you'll be taken to all the albums under my name. One of them has all the songs with accompaniments only.

2) Yes! We can never have too many versions of a song. Plus, pretty much every song has been sung by SOMEONE (usually the composers first, then other people)

3) No sheet music at the moment (so you'll have to learn by ear), but lyrics are at popdrivel.com under Progress.

So here it is, my complete audition for Dee Vasquez.

My awful reading first

The whole song with the accompaniment, but without Maya or Nick

The accompaniment for those who want to audition for Vasquez too

And I post again this link: you can hear me singing various things here

And now I go do my chores, because I don't want to fight with my boyfriend because the house is a mess :p

Shin, if you're reading this I'm going to pm you the following things so you can update the Vasquez song on the site!
1. Vasquez song lyric sheet (with all roles and such)
2. Clarounette's demo without the accompaniment
3. Clarounette's demo with the accompaniment
4. The accompaniment itself (composed by Diana Rose I believe)

Okay, guys, Deja aka, "The Girl Who Should Really Be Working on Her Massive To-Do List" has decided to pop online and share her big surprise with everyone.

Because I couldn't hold it in any longer. (Sorry, TB!) It's a concept art page for "I'll Be There". I actually have something very elaborate planned out-- and that's why I was only offering to do scenes from people's songs for Storyboarding. This is my big project after I finish The Butz and do some boarding work for "Awakening" and "Face of the Samurai".

Spoiler: I'LL BE THERE TO DANCE WITH YOU! DANCING!

Yep! *hides in a hole again*

Also, Don? "The World Ends With You"... I bought it. It's trying to eat my soul! I need that! And my sleep! T_T It's so good, wryyyyy....

Clarounette--Your song sounds better and better each time you post. Very wonderful! I think the short length of the song and the fact that it gets story points across is very important. My sister keeps pointing out to me that there are some tracks on the Phantom of the Opera musical soundtrack (not the movie version...) there are some tracks that are less than 1 minute long. The more I think about it, the more I think your song fits quite well!

Deja--Those concept sketches are waaaaay too adorable. ^_^ You make me very excited to think of Nick and Maya dancing together like that!

so let me try to catch up.

@Salutation Here: If you think you can do the Bellboy try reading some lines! We would love to hear them!
@SweeneyWright: Same to you!

@Deja: Isn't it! I'm stuck right now though... *mumbles about Natural Puppy items*
Did you try the Tin-Pin minigame? I like to do the practice they give you in the menu.
And I love your concept drawings!

@ff3girl: I think trying to keep the songs shorter is a good thing. I know all of the songs I made are short, mostly because of limited ideas, but also to keep them from taking to much time from the rest of the musical.
And hopefully the shortness will make it so they have a better chance of staying?

I think there is a place for shorter songs, but I also think there is a place for longer songs. I still think it would be wonderful if we could have one scene that is completely done in song...! Of course, who will do that now, I have no idea. -_- I lack that magical ability.

Nah, I only mentioned the Bellboy because he's the only character I could remotely picture with an English accent. I don't think I could do his voice, really.

I'll just wait to see if we get past the first game. Because De Killer and Atmey are easy to picture with British accents.

Me as Will. There's some ad-libbing later on, so don't leave during intermission!

Nifty song, Don. The only problem is that it's a little TOO close to the "sad" Steel Samurai theme in the game. While we've had nods to PW songs before, I think this one is a lot closer to the actual melodies than the others. With a couple tweaks, I think it could sneak below that "legal barrier" though. ;)

TB-- sad enough to be hilarious. :will: Great job with the whining and sniffling. I bet the song can be changed around easily to not match the melody so closely.

That was awesome Bun!
And I think I said when I first posted it that I just took the Steel Samurai Ballad to use as the general idea of how the song goes until we can actually write a song for it. That was the mp3 of the song I have with parts moved around and then played again at twice the speed.

So if any of the music makers out there want to take a stab at it please do!
*gets stabbed*
The song not me!
