That is incredible! Sounds like a great intro for act 2. Just one sentence sounds off. "A suspect has been arrested at the scene and it has recently been revealed that he is Miles Edgeworth, aged 24." Maybe "A suspect was arrested at the scene, recently revealed to be Miles Edgeworth, age 24."
Not sure; that one sentence just sounded awkward... too wordy or something. (Please pardon the analyzing. I just got off the "write a short story" train for English and I'm still in editing mode.) Everything else was great though!

Gerkuman, you put me to shame. D:

Here's mine, though it's not nearly as good:

Case 1-3, Scene 1

(Maya is watching TV excitedly. Phoenix enters, looking somewhat tired.)

MAYA
Steel Samurai! Steel Samurai!

PHOENIX
Maya, what's going on?

TV (Steel Samurai)
This will be the last moon you ever see, Evil Magistrate!

MAYA
Get him, Steel Samurai!

TV (Evil Magistrate)
You are mistaken! This shall be your last fight, Steel Samurai!

MAYA (beating Phoenix with a broom)
Get him! Get him! Get him! Get him!

PHOENIX
Maya, stop it! Ow! What are you doing?!

TV
Who has fallen in the epic battle between the Steel Samurai and
the Evil Magistate?! Only the moon knows! Tune in next time on
"The Steel Samurai"!

MAYA (finally puts down broom)
Awwww, it's over! What a ripoff!

PHOENIX
What was that, anyway?

MAYA
Only the best TV show in the world! The Steel Samu-
Wait, don't tell me. You don't know about it?!

PHOENIX
No, of course not! It's a kids' show, right?

MAYA
For ten year old kids, I think?

PHOENIX
Exactly my point.

MAYA
Hey, don't treat me like a little kid! I'm seventeen, not seven!

PHOENIX (teasing)
Then why are you watching a kids' show?

MAYA
'Cause it's cool! You're so...old.

PHOENIX
I'm only 24! That's not old!

(They continue to argue. Suddenly, the TV starts up again.)

TV
We interrupt this program to bring you breaking news. Just this
morning, the actor Will Powers, star of the popular television show "The Steel Samurai: Warrior Of Neo Olde Tokyo" was arrested this morning on suspicion of murder.

(Phoenix and Maya are halted in their fighting, heads turned toward the TV.)

TV
The victim was Jack Hammer, who plays the villian on the show, the Evil Magistrate. He was impaled with the Samurai Spear, and was found still inside his costume.

(The TV keeps on going, saying things like where he was found, time of death, etc.)

MAYA
Oh my God! How could this happen?!

PHOENIX
Well, at least you know who won the battle, right?

MAYA
That's not funny, Phoenix. This is serious: a murder case!

PHOENIX
Yeah, you're right. We haven't had a good client in a while...

MAYA
Phoenix, I know what you're thinking.

TV
Right now Powers is being held in detention in the Los Angeles Police Department's Detention Center...

MAYA
Let's go! (rushes offstage)

PHOENIX
Maya, wait! (sighs, turns to audience) We haven't had a case in so long; we're getting kind of desperate. At least I can pay for the rent this month. (exit)

I dunno, I think it needs to be more poetic. :/

Looks pretty good -- except Maya calls Phoenix "Nick." Just something to keep in mind.

I think after the whole thing's done we're going to need a couple of people to do some heavy editing, to even out the difference in style between the writers and get some consistency in the humor.

But it's cool to see stuff getting done! Way to go, writers.

More new great singers aboard, we're in severe need of writers though. I hope to get a lot done this week, but if anyone has freetime, let me know immediately. Furthermore a few updates regarding roles, check the News section!

Gosh, you really need to calm down. Everything is in hand. And to prove it, here is my second scene, which has Edgey in it AND a place where his song will go :3

(Detention Centre)
Maya: You know, It seems we’ve all been here one time or another…
Nick: It comes with the territory Maya; we always live and work on the edge.
Maya: Well, we shouldn’t worry Edgeworth while he’s here. Put on your happy face. (He does, and Edgeworth appears in window)
Edgeworth: Oh, it’s you. I’m very busy Mr. Wright, If you’ll excuse me… (He leaves)
Nick: (Pause) Is my happy face really that frightening?
Maya: (Like Navi from Legend of Zelda) Hey! Listen!
Edgeworth: (Comes Back) So you’ve come to laugh at the falled Attorney. Don’t lie, you’ve got plenty of time to. Go on then, Laugh! LAUGH! (Sad) Why aren’t you laughing…
Maya: Should we be?
Nick: Nah, he’ll probably start crying…
Edgey: I didn’t want you to see me Wright, not like this.
Nick: Then tell me what you know so I can help!
Edgey: You…. YOU! HA! I’m really going to trust a wet behind the ears lawyer who hasn’t been more than three trials?
Maya: He won them all though!
Edgey: And how long will that last? My position is impossible; every single Defence Attorney I’ve approached has turned me down! They know they’re going to lose!
Nick: That’s crazy! Can’t you even tell me whether you did it or not!
Edgey: I don’t want your help or your Pity Wright. Stay out of this case. (He stomps off)
Maya: Do…do you think he did it?
Nick: Let’s go Maya… (Leaves)
Maya: Nick? Are you alright…. (Leaves)
(The Detention window opens up, and we can see Edgeworth sitting on a Chair)
[Song- ‘Don’t wait up for me’]

....... Hmph.

"A slowed progress is better than a ceased one".

Yeah, maybe I could calm down... or I could rehearse, and the latter would benefit more.

I have a question, for this, will ALL characters from PW 1-3 be in it? Because if so, what about whenever a song is about to be played around Furio Tigre, he yells, then the song immediately stops. Because Furio singing sounds... pretty unusual.

Nono Wrestlemania, like the OP says.. we're only covering PW1, more specifically the DL-6 aftermath and what's relevant to characterise everyone properly.

Gerkuman, dude, I <3 you - I've got THE song written for this right in my head. I just need more lyrics... You'll love it.

Everything I'm seeing of this project is looking really good so far, and I'd like to do more than be voice talent if I can. While I don't think I'd be much help trying to write scenes or songs from scratch, I'd be more than happy to offer my services as an editor if you'd like someone to go over things for flow/meter/rhythm/etc. If anyone wants a beta editor for their stuff, or if you'd like me to help with piecing things together when we have all the bits, please let me know.

Hey! Glad to see you in the thread again. Remember that we're not building scenes from scratch either; they're closely built on the original game script (available on CR). Our biggest issue at the moment is getting all the scenes drafted - they can always be edited later on, we just need a large chunk of script at the moment. ^^ Should you be interested, Gerkuman and atomicscribble are my Script Supervisors (sounds hardcore cool doesn't it). Contact them and they'll assign you something if you're interested =D But either way I'm happy we can count on you for extra help, editing is really important as well.

I believe the idea is to get a basic script written before we start cutting things down too much. After we've got the first draft, we should hit a pretty heavy editing phase.

We just need a song used, and the lyrics to it, because remaining with the character's voice AND singing would be the real challenge.

Heya, folks. This project looks like a lot of fun and it looks like there's going to be some awesome talent all around. I offered to be a part of it in a PM to Ethed and he added me to the cast list and asked for some better samples, including me doing some script reading as the characters I'm most interested in.

I thought I'd share those recordings with you guys as well to get your feedback.

Here's the samples in mp3 format :)

Introduction with quick scales

Voice Samples- With these, I picked 2 quick scripted sections where that character was a major part and went with it. Included are the script sections I selected in text format.

Me as ...
Phoenix Wright - Clip 1 - Clip 2 - Script

Miles Edgeworth - Clip 1 - Clip 2 - Script

Dick Gumshoe - Clip 1 - Clip 2 - Script

Larry Butz - Clip 1 - Clip 2 - Script

And here's two songs I sang ...
Song 1 - Song 2

Thanks for considering me, and let me know what you think :)
-Shinkinrui

P.S. When my sisters saw me messing with this and read the thread, they became interested, too, so they're probably going to offer to be a part of it, too.

Hello! One of the sisters of Shinkinrui here... Like he said, myself and my younger sister are both pretty psyched about a project like this, and pretty curious about how it would work out. I've really missed being in musicals since I gradated high school some years back. :-( And of course, being involved in a Phoenix Wright musical...?! That would just be sweet. Let me know what you think.

Me as Maya 1

Me as Maya 2

Me as April May

As a drooling fangirl, I would like to dedicate both of these songs to Edgeworth. I hope he appreciates how well-suited these songs are for alto voices. ^_~

I've got some of the 1-3 case done....Right now I'm working on the investigation day 1 dialog, but I thought I'd post this for you guys to see:

Spoiler: this is long so, saving space! XD
[Detention Center]

(Phoenix is leaning back in a cheap fold out chair fairly relaxed watching Maya’s behavior with a slightly amused look on his face. Maya is visibly agitated and is, with some difficulty, sitting another fold out chair.)

Phoenix: (mock irritated) Maya, stop fidgeting. It’s bad enough having to wait for the guards to bring Mr. Powers in without you about ready to bounce off the walls.

Maya: But it’s the Steel Samurai, Nick! In person! This is so cool…

Phoenix: He’s in JAIL Maya. For murder, remember? It’s not like he’s going to come out in full costume or anything…

(Maya stops fidgeting and looks down at he feet.)

Maya: Geez, Nick you sure know how to bring down someone’s good mood.

(Door opens and Phoenix jabs Maya with his elbow.)

Maya: Ow! What was that for?!

Phoenix: The guards are bringing him in.

(Will Powers enters. There’s an awkward silence for a beat.)

Phoenix: (leans over and whispers in Maya’s ear) What’s with you? You were practically bouncing off the walls earlier at the opportunity to meet the Steel Samurai…

Maya: (whispering) Nick…. he did it. He killed that guy…. and probably a couple of others too.

Phoenix: (whispering) What?! Why do you think that?

Maya: (stage whisper) Look at him! He looks like a killer!

(Will sniffles a bit and looks at his shoes as Maya says this.)

Will: I’m sorry, you’re disappointed right?

Maya: (startled) Ah…no, not at all!

Will: (still sniffling somewhat) You don’t have to be nice, I know I’m scary looking…I don’t really look like the hero of Neo Olde Tokyo, do I? Ever since I got the role, I’ve kept wearing that mask for all public appearances because I didn’t want to scare the kids and crush their dreams…but I guess that doesn’t really matter at this point right?
(Will pulls out a handkerchief and blows his nose. Maya pulls on Phoenix’s sleeve)

Maya: Nick, we gotta help him! He’s a good guy.

Phoenix: Just a minute ago you were saying he probably committed several murders….

Maya: C’mon Nick, you don’t think he did it do you?

Phoenix: No I don’t that’s not the point I was trying to-

Maya: (cutting of Phoenix) Mr. Powers we’d like to take your case.

Will: (surprised) Really? Thank you! I didn’t think any lawyers would take my case.

Phoenix: Why would you say that?

Will: I didn’t think anyone would believe I didn’t do it…with my face and all.

Phoenix: Well, as Maya said, we’re taking your case. Do you mind if I ask you a few Questions, Mr. Powers?

Will: (brightening) Ask me anything!

Phoenix: What were you doing at the time of the murder?

Will: Earlier that day we’d had a run through of the next episode. After lunch I went and took a nap in my dressing room. We were supposed to be doing a dress rehearsal at five, but I overslept. By the time I got there the body had been found already.

Phoenix: (stage whisper) What kind of an action hero is this guy?

Will: Where you saying something, Mr. Wright? I couldn’t hear you.

Phoenix: Ah, no, it’s nothing. So I guess we'd better go check out the studio then…

(Phoenix gets up and Maya follow suit)

Maya: Don’t worry Mr. Powers, we’ll prove you didn’t do it! You can count on us!

Will: (smiling a little bit) Thanks, I’m counting on it.

That's great! My only qualm is that Phoenix jumps right into "What were you doing at the time of the murder?" and it feels awkward. What if he asks Will, "Is it alright if I ask you a few questions?" and then asks him where he was?
Also, take out the "Well,..." before sentences. It will read smoother that way.

I hope you don't think I'm a jerk for such criticism, though. :larry: I just want to be helpful!

Sorry about my last post! There was a slight mix up because I was using Shinkinrui's computer. Anyway ...

So, it's has been decided that this is going to be a digital musical, correct? How're you guys that're heading this going to be splicing this all together? Obviously, there isn't going to be that much a problem with just simple line exchanges but when it comes to harmonizing and such I'm confused. Do you guys have awesome mixing software? Oh yeah, another question; Is there going to be a Chorus for backup and stuff? Um... Maybe the Jury ...?
