Hey guys. I'm starting to have second thoughts. I'm really busy at the moment with quite a few projects (Making trials, keeping the CYOA maintained and writing new parts daily ((which I need to keep up on)), running AAO Mafia, and more), and I don't know how much of a help I can be as a writer in this point in time.

I'm NOT giving up, it's just I want to say here and now that I probably won't be able to keep up with this, and give this the attention I wanted to. I apologize for any inconvenience.

:omg: :takethat:

The song to end all songs!!!! I've finally done it!! Here it is!!

P.S., worst singing ever, my voice started to go out within the first line.

BEST. THING. EVER.

I PMed Pennfalath ages ago and he told me if it would make it easier I could change the lyrics some. Well, the end result is here!
Spoiler: Muchly Changed Lyrics
Tomorrow’s Trial

Edgeworth:
Tomorrow’s trial,
My doom will be decided
Let truth not be misguided
Guilty of at least one crime
My father’s death, the blame is mine

Phoenix:
Tomorrow’s Trial
Von Karma can’t stop us now
We’ll see his shamed final bow!

Phoenix:
We must go and save our friend
Tomorrow this nightmare will end

Mia:
Even though it all seems bleak

Maya:
I’m sorry, Nick, I’ve let him win

Mia:
There is hope that you can seek

Maya:
Now that letter is with him

Mia:
You just need the truth and then you’ll both be free

Gumshoe:
Mr. Edgeworth must be freed!

Phoenix:
This is my last chance

Gumshoe:
Give it your all, pal

Phoenix:
My final performance

Gumshoe:
It’s you that he needs

Phoenix:
Will I be able to hold my stance?

Gumshoe:
We’re all counting on you

Crowd:
Now is the time
It’s all or nothing…

Edgeworth:
Tomorrow's trial!

Von Karma:
My revenge for 15 years ago
Will finally begin
My preparations are perfect
I’ve done anything to win

Edgeworth:
Tomorrow’s Trial!

Larry/Lotta:
We’ve done all we could,
Facts without lies
If he wins this fight
Then freedom’s the prize

Gumshoe:
Without your help pal
This whole thing’s a bust!
Mr, Wright, you’re the
Kinda guy we trust.

Crowd + Mia + Gumshoe + Judge:
Tomorrow it will be finished
The final courtroom brawl
The defendant’s destination
(The defendant’s destination)
Through tears and desperation
(Through trials and tribulations)
Will there be justice for all?

Phoenix and Maya:
This nightmare will end
Unravel this mystery

Von Karma:
My revenge for 15 years ago
Will finally begin
I’m perfection incarnate and
I’ve done anything to win….

Larry/Lotta:
We’ve done all we could,
Facts without lies
If he wins this fight
Then freedom’s the prize

Gumshoe:
Without your help pal
This whole thing’s a bust!
Mr, Wright, you’re the
Kinda guy we trust.

Phoenix and Maya:
We will save our friend
And we’ll get the victory

Von Karma:
My revenge for 15 years ago
Will finally begin
I’m perfection incarnate and
I’ve done anything to win….

Larry/Lotta:
We’ve done all we could,
Facts without lies
If he wins this fight
Then freedom’s the prize

Gumshoe:
Without your help pal
This whole thing’s a bust!
Mr, Wright, you’re the
Kinda guy we trust.

Edgeworth:
15 years, I’m out of time
Tomorrow, I’ll face my crime

ALL:
Victory will be

Phoenix and von Karma:
Mine!

ALL:
Innocent, guilty?
Whose is the sin?
Wright or Von Karma?
Who will win?........

As listening you can hear there are definitely homages to a lot of other songs in there (JFA, The Kinda Guy You Can Trust, Anything to Win). When I talked to Pennfalath, he said that was what he had envisioned and that ther should be homages, specifically to those songs, in there.

Waaah... I wish I didn't have to wait til I was home to listen. :-( You've made it hard for me to concentrate on Special Education rules and regulations now, Pool! I'm just going to be humming JFA while we're talking about IEP's and NCLB. XDDD

Though I guess it kind of is relevant when I think about it... it wasn't until that 70's that schools were required to teach people with disabilities... up until then they were kind of SOL in terms of that discrimination. Hm.

You know, I have no idea what it is with the last few days. I finish my exams, I find a copy of MGS2 for €15, I learn i've scored 100% on my theory for my musical conductor studies and now this...

Awesome. Can't wait to hear it with all the parts sung by their respective singers. (Can you post a version without the singing?).

Bit too tired to comment further. Great job in any case!

Edit: You know what, screw going to bed, my exams are done anyway, and I can sleep till whenever I feel like.

I've got to be honest, the first time I listened to it, I had mixed feelings. However, I deduced (with the help of my nearly bleeding ears) that it actually wouldn't be a bad idea to relisten to the song, but with the volume turned down a bit, so that the high notes wouldn't kill my eardrums. So, just to be clear, my criticism was wholly due to my own incompetence in the field of volume control. And now, I love it!
One question: I didn't hear the parts that are between brackets (when the judge and mia and gumshoe and the crowd are singing). Are they meant to be sung? I'm just asking cause I really want the line "through trials and tribulations" in there.

Yay! I have no time at all the rest of today or friday, I just used one big push of energy to finish recording today! I'm gonna put up all the different version without certain (or all) voice parts and stuff on Saturday. It won't take too long. I feel such a sense of accomplishment just finally being done! Whew!

And now for something significantly less epic.
Spoiler: Reminiscence
Alternate Title: The Truth
by Salutation Here and Arri

Edgeworth:
DL-6 is the source of all my fears,
the incident has haunted me for 15 years,
every night I wake with a scream ringing in my ears,
I have needed all my strength to keep back the tears.

Phoenix:
Edgeworth, don't be afraid, it's all just a dream
You can't get cowed by that horrible scream.

Edgeworth:
No Wright, I'm afraid
it's all too real
I must have blocked it out
to protect how I feel.

Phoenix:
I don't understand - blocked what out?
I really don't know what you're talking about.

Edgeworth: [spoken]
I blocked out my father's death...at my hands.

Phoenix:
What!?

Edgeworth:
I now know
I'm far from innocent
I remember the truth
of that dreadful incident.

That day in the elevator,
lack of oxygen, stress and fright
Made the bailiff and my father begin to fight
Yogi accused my father of stealing his air
they kept on fighting like I wasn't even there.
Something fell at my feet, I wasn't sure what;
Perhaps deep down I knew, perhaps I did not
Either way, I tried to stop the fight;
I threw it, and there was a blinding light
And a hideous scream that cut through the air,
a scream which every night, returns in my nightmare.
I passed out after that, woke in a hospital bed,
Only to find out that my father...was dead.

Phoenix:
Edgeworth, what you think...
it just isn't true.
Even accidentally, you wouldn't kill,
you don't have it in you.

Edgeworth:
Wright, that's good of you to say,
but tomorrow it won't matter,
I'll be guilty either way,
Von Karma will dredge it up
And he'll make me pay,
there'll be nothing you can do for me
on the final trial day.

Phoenix:
Edgeworth, don't talk like that,
I tell you it's not the end,
If you don't believe as your lawyer,
then believe me...as your friend.

Guard: [spoken]
I'm sorry, but visiting hours are over.

[Edgeworth turns away from Phoenix. The scene ends.]
If anyones wants them, single-part versions will be up later today.

EDIT: And here they are:
No Edgeworth
No Phoenix
Accompaniment

Arri, that was lovely. <3 I really like it. :D Too bad I can't sing in any of it, though. X3 <3

Yeah, I think we definitely need an instrumental for Tomorrow's Trial, and we'll just start passing it around. :P

The only thing I didn't mention in my original post... I think, if we get more instruments, that it would definitely lend to an even more epic feel when everyone is singing together. I think we want that song to be big. I love just the single piano through most of it, but the multiple singing bit near the end, I think, could definitely be even bigger. X3 Though feel free to disagree.

Impressive. Very epic, suspense-building showstopper. I like a lot! I'm ready to record Gumshoe anytime, pal :)

Although, there WERE a couple parts towards the beginning where the singing sounded a little dissonent from the accompaniment. Not anything major, just something that needs brushing up a little <3

My own surprise has grown in scope a bit(and includes participation from a few other people, so I guess it's not only MY surprise anymore), so it'll have to wait awhile. Trust me, though, it'll be worth the wait ;)

Thanks, Leeness ^^ It's not nearly as awesome as Tomorrow's Trial, but I'm still proud of it. It's a huge improvement from Useless, I think >> Even if converting it to WAV format did make the piano sound terrible.

And yes, in case it wasn't clear from my previous post, Pooleterson, I found Tomorrow's Trial to be quite epic. I agree with Leeness in that it might could benefit from some more instrumental parts, just to really build it up, but it's still amazing. I can't wait to hear a full cast version!

And I don't really know if should be posting this, but I was googling the musical earlier and ran across this. The part that really caught my eye was the third song, the one for Lotta. I don't remember ever seeing these lyrics, personally, but I think they're really great, and it'd be cool if we could use them - if Ferdielance consented, of course. Which is why I'm not sure if this is okay to post >>

So there's at least three more surprises floating around - Shinkinrui's, Kemi/Diana's, and TriforceBun's, yeah? That's exciting ^^

EDIT: Okay, after listening to TT again, I've got just a couple of things to add, most of which aren't actually to do with the music itself.
-First off, Phoenix's first part. Obviously there's two voices there; is that meant to be a Phoenix/Maya duet? If so, is the second part labeled for Phoenix (We must go and save our friend, etc) supposed to be sung by Maya? Because it kind of sounded like you were using two different voices, but the lyrics label both as Phoenix's parts.
-Second, at the end, at the "victory will be mine" part...it kinda seems like it should be Phoenix and VK singing "Mine" instead of Edgeworth and VK, since Edgey's pretty much already resigned to his fate and thinks he killed his dad and all that.
-Third, though this is probably just me...I know von Karma's part is supposed to echo "Anything to Win", but saying "I've done anything" just sounds wrong to me. It feels like it should be "I've done everything."
-Last, I just have to say I absolutely love the ending. It gives me goosebumps; it's so...eerie? I dunno, but it's really cool. It's a perfect way to end it; it kind of feels like there should be an intermission or something after it, even though we will have already had one ^^ But it's also the last song before the trial, I'm assuming, so there would be some kind of break between scenes there. Aaaand now I'm rambling.

Wah. T_T Now I have to wait til I'm home to hear TWO songs. Wah. One more hour. -_-

EDIT:

Pooleterson! Wow! Great job on that song. ^_^ You're so great a writing piano accompaniments and your singing is just as gorgeous as always. I think the melodies of the songs you were referencing could've come through more strongly, but goodness. Nice. :will:

Arri--You have improved a lot since you wrote Useless! Great job on the accompaniment for that song. It makes me wonder why you asked me to write the accompaniment for What Have I Done, though! heh I'm not sure how many emo Edgeworth songs we'll have, but you did a lovely job on that. :edgy:

Ooh, yay, feedback! Thanks everyone!

Pennfalath- Haha, I'm glad volume helped. To be honest, I ended up skipping the bracketed lines although I had had ideas about tunes or ways to put them in. I edited the lyrics as I went along so there are a few discrepencies which I need to fix. I was worried it would be too hectic with the brackets. Since I had thought I was using them basically up until I recorded, they can be put in without changing any arrangement with a simple re-record. :phoenix:

Leeness- I imagined eventually there would be instruments. In fact, I considered adding in the initial post that this is just the first arrangement. Not too much, cause I agree, in parts (especially the end) I think the single piano works well.

Shinkinrui- You're right, I bet you anything 99% of it is my singing. :redd: Using Finale Notepad, I write music with the vocal lines in piano parts so I'm pretty sure when it's sung correctly, on pitch and with the right rhythm, it works. I'll definitely look again, but I know the beginning was where the singing was the most off (really off, haha), so I'm inclined to see a correlation.

Arri- Yay feedback!! Seriously, thank you for listening too it so closely. Phoenix's first part was meant to be just Phoenix, although in theory it could work as a duet if people found that effective. D'oh, it was supposed to be Von Karma and Phoenix, my bad. I see your point about "everything", it's such a small word, consider it changed.

ff3girl- By far the hardest part were the references. And yes, I agree they could've been stronger. But I think they were about as strong as they could have been, considering the fact that these songs were not written with such a medley in mind. I mean, relistening to those three songs, those are three hugely different songs!! And I also had to consider that Gumshoe and Von karma's parts would have to be harmonic with two other parts and a whole separate set of chords (that part was one of the first things I wrote to make sure that the song I built up around those parts would still work when they were all put together). Actual lines from ATW and TKGWCT (?) simply didn't fit together, even with just the two of them. So instead, the parts were more evocative of the songs themselves rather then portions of the songs.

So my to-do list is, when I rerecord before posting the individual parts, is put in the brackets, replace "anything" with "everything" and try and get the beginning more on-pitch. In the future, considering different arrangements. Whew, long post! But seriously, thanks for the feedback!

EDIT: Arri, Reminiscence is GREAT!! I really like the arrangement of the instruments, and your singing has improved a lot!

Thanks again to Shink for recording for me! :D

EDIT2:
Lyrics helps
Spoiler:
What have I done? By Arri

What have I done?
I let you die, I let you down
I’m sorry I couldn’t turn the trial around
Who will save the day?
Mia, I’m lost without you
I’m hopeless and I don’t know what to do

I look back and see
All the things that I couldn’t mend
I’ve nowhere left to turn
Things are looking dim
Let’s face it Mia—
I just can’t win

What could I have been thinking,
Taking on a case like this?
Who did I think I would turn to
When things started going amiss?
I was foolish, it was stupid
To think I could pull this back from the brink
I thought that I could change the world
But I couldn’t change a thing

Even if I’m lonely and defeated
Who else will stand for those who are mistreated?
Redd White paid off his lies
So his crimes could be disguised
If Mia is to be avenged I must arise!

Things will not end this way—I refuse to see it so
By the end of the day, the truth is what we’ll know
I believe in myself and now it’s my turn to do more
I won’t forget just what I’m fighting for

What have I done?
Saved Maya and let her go free
Just what Mia would expect of me
Who will save the day?
Someone has to stand and fight
So its my turn now to make it right

Yes its my turn now to make it right

Leeness, those storyboards are fantastic! I adore the transition from Maya to Mia, and then the back and forth with von Karma, and then Phoenix's entrance....it's just all amazing! I can't wait to see more.

And speaking of amazing....ff3girl, you never fail to impress. Thank you so much! I like that the chords from JfA are in there during the reprised bit ^^ And thanks also for the comments for Reminiscence, you and Pooleterson both.

Also, I edited the post with the song to include the versions without Phoenix and Edgeworth, if any guys want to give it a shot? I also moved it down a couple of steps since that post I made a couple of days ago, so hopefully it won't be too high >>

I need a new project to consume my free time, now.

Caitlin--you don't have to download any of these songs to listen to them, you can just play them through the websites they're on. You definitely HAVE to listen to Pool's Tomorrow's Trial ASAP. It rocks my socks incredibly hard.

You know... ... I think I started to associate your avatar of Zelda with the mafia now. She looks all... taunty and spinny to my crazy head. XD She's all like... "I'm in the maaafiaaaa... try to lyyynch meeee!"

Something's incredibly wrong with me... :moe-laugh:

Cool, I'll try it. Not sure if this laptop has Flash though, it can't watch YouTube videos and the like.

EDIT: That better? I really need to play Twilight Princess. [/offtopic]

Great lyrics guys!

*catches expectant looks*

I haven't really moved on yet from the three panels yet... Sorry!

I'm just drowning in homework right now.
I'll be free in a couple of weeks time to finish them up.

Hey, all!

Due to unforeseen schedule changes, I dunno when I'll be able to hit the Teamspeak. ^^''''''' I will when I can, but there's apparently stuff going on today. @____@'''' I will, however, be on tomorrow for sure.

lalalei2001! You should log into teamspeak and join us. ^_~

And I think TB meant to say "Tomorrow's Trial" but typed "Trial by Fire" by accident... they both begin with T's.

Ahhhhh, I always disappear for a while and then get all confused going through posts. xD

So I'll just say the first thing that comes to mind: Pooleterson, epic song! :)

It's nice to go through and hear these fun songs again after a half-summer of pure classical (not that I don't like classical, I've just... had enough of it for now. xD) My voice coach must be trying to kill me!
