Today on the bus I passed by a Glen Street. I was happy for a second and for the rest of the day I kept watching street signs...

Who knew Gardevoir can harness the power of Psyche-Locks?

Actually, I have a male Gardevoir. Male Kirlias will evolve into Gardevoir if you don't give them a Dawn Stone.

To be honest, it makes my eyes glaze over.
And you're not supposed to be the one calculating the curves, just where they intersect.
I just thought it was amusing seeing something called an "Edgeworth Box" in a law book.

Ahh! I spent a couple of weeks earlier this year studying Edgeworth boxes and was incredibly excited and fangirly. Then I realised that I didn't know if I knew anybody who both played Phoenix Wright and had read "Intermediate Microeconomics"...

So I put this picture on my Facebook profile for a while, to see if anybody recognised it. They didn't, but I still love it.

Image

(The Edgeworth image is something I got off the Gyakuten Saiban Icons community on Livejournal, and is not my work and belongs to its creator etc. etc. etc. The box that looks like it was drawn on MS paint is mine, and represents the height of my artistic abilities :acro: )

And yeah, you can't really calculate the curves, because they're functions of people's preferences which, as much as economists may argue, just do. not. exist IRL. There are various functions you can use for modelling purposes, like Cobb-Douglas, which gives you a utility function of U= X^a*Y^(1-a) (which you can then draw for lots of different values of U), but... they're imaginary. I do also think they're one of the more interesting bits of Economics though, which is quite impressive given how much I like some of the other bits of Economics (Game theory <3)

... and yup, we're both geeks. Isn't it wonderful?

hmm... (wiki'd) I suspect it's more of a coincidence than anything else, as this Edgeworth doesn't seem to share any really obvious qualities with the one we know and love. Other than the fact that they should both have been called "Ysidro" all the time. What a name.

Now, THIS Edgeworth, I can see the similarities with. I mean, he invented caterpillar tracks, drained bogs and improved roads! That's basically a prosecutor's job description! [/facetiousness] Bless. Actually, there might be something in the fact that there's a whole family of famous Edgeworths (well, three...), but then again there are a lot of families where fathers and sons etc. do the same sorts of things, so again I'm not sure there's an intentional link. Never mind...

I came to school dressed as Edgeworth once and they mistook me for a lawyer!

On the P.A. it said Miles Edgeworth, room 1202, Miles, room 1202.

We don't have a room 1202, then... I found a room with 1202 engraved, instead of 17. It became my office.

I love that school. I started drinking 17 cups (of exclusive tea) a day, solved crimes, but 1 period of counselling was considered enough for stealing 98$ and my partner was dressed as Gumshoe and referred as such. He had gum on his shoe for 5 months.

Edit: I live on the corner of Armstrong! I need some pictures!

Me and my friend (Gumshoe) argue about stepladders and ladders.

Yeah, but the suit, unfortunately, was stolen as well. I had the office still, luckily, the nameplate wasn't made yet. It's still there, actually and I had books in many languages- from German, to French, to Japanese, to Arabic... too bad I only knew 1 of the languages enough to read a book.

EDIT: I also live on the corner of Armstrong Avenue. It's filled with old people who love aromatheorapy, but some speak in a French accent.
