Christmas vacation has just hit, I'm done with all gigs. Here are two random crack pictures from last night just so you know I haven't been slacking! :P

Erm... Ethed?.. err... what else do I have 2 do before I am considered as officially "in the musical"?

Also, ATM, I'm just doing some script typing for something else (The ENTIRE Basil Magatama scene... Adam Mada makes it hard as hell to do), but I would like this answered sometime soon, if you have the time. :sadshoe:

Alright. In this post, I'll be posting a few things different.

My first clip is a Redd White clip, which is the first 4 lines of MMG... however, from the middle of the second line on, it proves its sole intention: How quickly I can speak.

http://media.putfile.com/Redd-White-MMG---Fast

My second clip is Me as... Viola? This is PURELY to show my full range of how "creepy" I can make my voice. It can't be submitted into the scenes, but it's not for that intent.

http://media.putfile.com/Viola-1-Range-of-creepiness

I have included... ONE more clip as well. This will be the REAL singing voice of Redd White. The first 8 lines, but not sung as fast as my earlier voice (because that was damn quick, IMO)

Before I post it, I apologize that I couldn't make up words for this, but it is only a singing TEST, and not a full impression. :sadshoe:

http://media.putfile.com/Redd-White---Sings-MMG

Anyways, that's all I can post ATM. I'll be back later.

(Copies post and sends it as a PM to Ethed, just in case)

Edit: The reason I sing quietly is because my sis is sleeping nearby, and if there's one rule I live by, it's "Don't wake the sis, if you want to live!".

I've started doing another song--it's going to take place during Cody Hackins testimony, so if we already have something for that, let me know, but if it's not spoken for, I'd like to do a little Steel Samurai homage.

Wrestlemania--impressive speed and good singing. If I could make one suggestion, it sounds like you're speaking a bit quietly when recording your Redd White voice. Try projecting a bit more to get more of the guy's stuffy confidence.

Ah, I had already explained that my sis was sleeping nearby, and I didn't want to wake her, so I had to speak quietly. However, I will make a louder voiced version of the song a little bit later on.

Also, impressive work, TriforceBun! Sadly, I have yet to hear any acts (stupid internet access cuts off randomly), but I'll be sure to backtrack and listen in, since it seems tha ye have certainly gained the respect of many other members of the staff for the musical!

The words? Well, okay, but this might be tricky depending on how Court-Records organizes its posts. You may have to use your ear for some of this. I hit most of the chords pretty clearly on the beat, so it shouldn't be hard.

(After typing and previewing) D'ohhhh, it cut out all the extra spaces I put in. Well, this is close enough. I think it's apparent when the chords change in each line.

Using Shinkinrui's edited lyrics:

Actually I was thinking of blackmailing Capcom (Mask deMasque style - I KNOW YOUR TRUE IDENTITY, YOU'RE COCA COLA) into selling the PW series to me for a buck, then moving to Mexico and releasing the musical as... Whoenix Pright.

... :P If if the majority of the song is yours, it'll remain yours. Every member will be credited for their contribution - although true that we are all part of CR, we're still practically strangers. I'm planning a large section for the crew whenever we set up a website.

Wrestlemania ... I like your voice for Redd White, I just think you're putting a little too much ... I dunno, stuffiness/nasal quality into it ... The short clips were pretty decent, do you think maybe you could upload a longer clip, maybe you performing a whole song?

Since it's hard to explain what I mean by how I think the voice is off a little, here's a clip ... I think maybe you're putting too much breath in your voice/have the sound too far back in your throat ...

http://media.putfile.com/shinkredd

EDIT: After reading what I wrote, I think maybe this post came off as too critical/ "try doing this like ME ..." I just want to append and emphasize one more time that I do like you as Redd White. I just thinking a little tweaking is in order. Good speed/song too :)

One thing, Wrestlemania:

Just say "Speldiferous!" a lot more enthusiastically. White's making up words, and using them in a way, he thinks, that makes him The Awesome. Put some life into that and you will have his catchphrase perfected. :D

Do we want Von Karma to sing? I've was playing around with some string arrangements in Fruity Loops and I think I have something going that would be great for him, but I didn't plan actual singing to go with the song. To me Von Karma is like the anti hero, I can't really imagine him singing, but I could imagine the other character singing in response. Though I'm kinda a perfectionist myself (ironic) so I can't promise a finished song.

I can imagine Von Karma singing. I'm not sure what kind of a voice he'd have, but I can definetely picture him singing.

Probably something about his almost-perfect record, and how Phoenix doesn't stand a chance.

I'd love to be a part of this... but I'm not entirely sure where my voice would even fit in. I have an obscure combination; a somewhat deep speaking voice for a girl and when I sing I'm soprano.

Here's a sample of my voice, I'm voicing the blonde in the black coat. I don't have anything else and I foolishly left my microphone in my dorm. Silly me. I can record on my digital camera a little something though.

http://youtube.com/watch?v=rNPPMUEukNA

I can adjust my voice to varying degrees if need be.

Didn't we have someone make a fairly in general idea for a von karma song, with Phoenix objecting in the middle of it? I'm not sure what page it's on, but it seemed like a nice idea for a song. Maybe it'll fit with what Chihiro's got so far

Von Karma should sing. It'd be silly for him *not* to sing; it's a musical! Antagonists always sing in musicals and usually are pretty deeps voiced ... Okay, that last part isn't always true but Von Karma has and awesome evil voice. In fact, I think he should have a very classically trained voice that's a lot more mature and experienced ... But I'm not a supervisor on this anyway ... :redd:

I agree with ThePhantomOtaku, Von Karma's singing voice should sound very refined and classical. :) And I definitely think he should sing at SOME point; he's too important a character not to.

Vauxdan, I think it's great that you also want to be a part of this but ... This video you put up for your audition ... It feels like something you did just to goof around with your friend. I don't think you should should consider it audition material. I understand that you don't have a microphone right now but I think that you should just wait a little longer until you do. A video like that might just give people a negative opinion of your acting and vocal skills. I know I sound critical but I think it should be said. :sadshoe:

When you're able to, get a recording of yourself singing something seriously and try out your voice as some of the different characters from the game :) I'm looking forward to hearing your serious audition(no offense, but I agree with what Otaku said) :gymshoe:

But hearing just that little bit did make me want to hear a more serious attempt at a PW character from you ... possibly Maya? :phoenix:

Whew, my second song is done, and it was much tougher to finish than the first.

This scene takes place in Turnabout Samurai, when Cody Hackins takes the witness stand. Mia has just told Phoenix to go easy on the kid, so I gave him some ballad-esque verses in this. Cody gets carried away when talking about his hero, and I tried working in the whole camera/album thing as well. It's one of those songs that sort of tells a story so it's got a bit of a rhapsody feel at times.

The style of this is an homage to the game's Steel Samurai theme, and I'm sure you'll be able to pick up a couple nods to that song in particular, as well as one or two others. As usual, I flubbed a couple notes and it won't be too hard to figure out which ones, but work in progress, caveat, etc etc.

THE SAMURAI ALWAYS WINS:

Follow the lyrics for extra fun (spoiler-tagged to save space):

Spoiler:
-CODY-
When the moon is bright with a pale, blue light
And trouble is nearby.
Only one man fights for what is right:
The Steel Samurai!
And all heroes know when it's time to go
And face their destined fate!
For who should show, but his deadly foe,
The Evil Magistrate!
I saw it with my own two eyes, and it was really great!

-PHOENIX-
I'm to understand that you're a big Samurai fan.
You watch the show every week.
Now you have a hand in being a hero to this man,
the truth is the only thing I seek.

-CODY-
With a samurai punch and a samurai slash, that battle had caused a deafening crash!
He dodged a strike with a samurai dash, the villain paid for his sins!
With a samurai slap and a samurai chop, that samurai pain just never stopped!
He came on top while the Magistrate dropped, 'cause the samurai always wins!

-EDGEWORTH-
Wright! The truth is, this fragile youth is sure of that ruthless attack!
So, stop pressing him, hoping that he'll crack!

-PHOENIX-
I'm trying to keep The Steel Samurai out of jail...
please, if you could, try to go into more detail.

-CODY-
What I saw that day was a grim display-
An evil man's demise. (PHOENIX: Uh-oh)
And I stood nearby when the Samurai
shot lasers from his eyes! (PHOENIX: Wait, what?)
And he flew up high, reaching to the sky
A bright metallic sheen!
The hero chose to strike a pose
And then he flew the scene!
It was just like in episode two-hundred seventeen!

[spoken, over music]
-PHOENIX-
OBJECTION! Cody, what sort of murderer uses a "samurai slap!?" Or for that matter, shoots lasers from his eyes?

-EDGEWORTH-
OBJECTION! Clearly, the witness merely has an active imagination--

-PHOENIX-
OBJECTION! You know as well as I do that the witness is being vague! He still hasn't testified to seeing the finishing stab. And I think I know why...

[sung]
Cody, you have shown you've got a camera of your own.
You never miss any shots.
If you could show a picture of the killing blow,
it could help us connect the dots...

'Cause you keep all pictures in an album titled "Path to Glory."
With the killing blow from every show to tell a hero's story!
And I'll tell you this, something is amiss, for there's no reason or rhyme...
And for what it's worth, no way on Earth did Cody see this crime!
Tell the truth, witness, this is the last time!

-JUDGE-
Mr. Wright, what is the meaning of this?

(simultaneously:)

-CODY-
With a samurai kick and a samurai punch
and a samurai triple-suplex-crunch,
the Samurai flipped and spun a bunch;
he'd win no matter the cost!
With a samura chop and a samurai slap,
the Magistrate felt a sickening snap,
and he was about to have a dirt nap
'cause the Samurai's never lost!

-PHOENIX-
Please
no more lies
I have tried
to use a light touch.
I'm
trying to pre-
serve the show that you
love so much.

(simultaneously:)

-CODY-
With a samurai dodge and a samurai block
and a samurai ultra-tough headlock
and the poor Magistrate could only gawk
for he had no help from friends.
With his samurai spear gleaming in the sun,
his samurai battle almost done,
he had his fun and had finally won,
'cause the Samurai ALWAYS wins!

-PHOENIX-
Please
tell the truth.
This is just
a fictitious tale.
I'm
trying to keep
the Steel Samurai
out of jail.

-EDGEWORTH-
Wright, you dunce.
Stop this at once.
You're badgering a
child. I won't allow it!
Cease these accu-
sations please,
this questioning
is wild!

-JUDGE-
Order, order!

I'm sleepy...I think that'll be the last one for awhile.

Dude. Where the heck did you come from, anyway? You are AMAZING, man! How long's it been since you decided to give this a shot? Like 1 week, right? And already, TWO freakin' incredible songs! I think I like this one even more than the first! [INSERT MORE PRAISE HERE]!!! Seriously!

That last part at the end is nuts, and really does a good job capturing the craziness that always happens in this Judge's courtroom :udgy:

Plus, I had just suggested to Phantom earlier to try out Cody Hackins! Now she has a song to try out with! You are the MAN! Piano accompaniment, please :will:

P.S. I LOVE THIS SONG

Thanks for the praise, guys, glad you like the song! It felt a lot trickier this time around due to the courtroom setting and the need to tell a bit of a story.

Hearing someone else try Cody's part will be fun, although I think I made a bit of a mistake by making it sort of a tenor part. So it'd be a kid who's already hit puberty, or a girl who may or may not have to lower it an octave (not sure how it'd sound with it up an octave, but it may work). I bet an alto could pull it off without a big problem, but if all else fails, I could attempt to transpose it in a different key.

Have a go at it anyway, as I managed to NOT save over the piano part this time, heh:

I can imagine Von Karma singing. I'm not sure what kind of a voice he'd have, but I can definetely picture him singing.

Probably something about his almost-perfect record, and how Phoenix doesn't stand a chance.

He should have a really deep voice, and he'd sing something that sounds like what you'd hear at the Liturgical service at church.

Yeah.
