Don't assume that just because you haven't seen it, it never happens.
I've seen it before in reality, and if we're talking about fiction (because the Ace Attorney series IS fictional) it's even more common. I mean, look at Anakin Skywalker and Padme! Wasn't that an ELEVEN-YEAR age difference?
Modern society may teach young girls that dating someone more than two years older during the teenage years is a crime, but pshaw.

No offense, but art like that just bothers me. I assure you, most people I know that ship Phoenix/Edgeworth see it beyond it being a rival pairing (Phoenix/Godot would be more of a rival pairing, but I digress). This person doesn't see WHY people ship them, and that is where her argument falls apart. Not to mention that she has it coming out from the "characters' own mouths" as though they would really SAY that, and that just strikes me as a bit arrogant.
Not to mention Maya is 18 in JFA, so she's not "Pedo."
Ugh, sorry to digress, but I felt I had to say something. It is best that people keep that sort of art in a pairing discussion thread than in threads like this.
Have you actually seen Phoenix and Ema shipping? Because I can't find anything other than P/E on fanfiction.net and I've seen two fics that had Ema assisting Phoenix again.
