After 3-1, though, I think he was too badly hurt to seek or accept any further relations and was kinda busy trying to save Edgeworth anyway.
Edgeworth, though... not a chance. Intelligent and attractive yes, nice not so much until lately, and you also have to take into account the fact that he's a social and emotional cripple. I mean, the poor man didn't know how to say "thank you". Von Karma can not have been a very warm or nurturing guardian (especially given that he was specifically aiming to break and ruin Miles), and considering how early he became a prosecutor... I just don't think he ever had time, may not have had the inclination, and even if he had, would have had no idea how to go about doing it.
(Also his total cluelessness about the whole concept of being attracted to women says to me that he's gay, which would have reduced his chances to have sex even further since he would have also had to find a man who was interested in other men and he just had better things to do. Even if he does like women, that cluelessness tells me he's never slept with one.)

I think Edgeworth is smart enough to seperate emotion and physicality and also clever enough to be careful enough of any given situation that he always feels in control of it. Not someone you would want to date, however - these sorts of people should come with a large sign saying DANGER above their heads. I can't imagine him ever having had a relationship.
I don't think he's as much of a social cripple as he's often portrayed. If he'd been locked in a room with no social interaction for years he wouldn't be half as good a lawyer as he is because he wouldn't be able to read situations at all. I certainly think he's reserved, lacks cultural references and has never chosen to be a social animal in general in terms of parties and the like, but I'm quite confident he could manage surface interactions with other professionals quite well.
I think also that in order to have sharpened his wit to the extent that he appears to have in the games would require some exposure to other (witty and smart) people which is why I tend towards the "he went to college at some point" view. Probably a fairly exclusive one with other smart but bizarre types in evidence as I don't think he's mixed *widely* and has generally been able to reside in an ivory tower in that regard.
I doubt he's been getting about much since he was at the Prosecutor's Office however. I rather suspect any nortiness was prior to 3:4.
And that's all far to deep for this tme of the morning. I think it's fun to hear other people's interpretations of characters - I find it devilishly interesting, because it probably says as much about the person speaking as it does about the character's - we all bring a bit to them when we reinterpret them I think, whether it be our own experiences or those of peoplethat we know. 'Tis why I loved studying literature so much :)

)- Edgeworth is very cocky in 3-4, very sure of himself...as a prosecutor. As we've seen later on in his life, I just don't think that translates to "I'm sexy and I know it", especially when we have a perfect example of someone who is very aware of their own attractiveness right in the same courtroom. Godot can shrug off Armstrong's flirting with a smirk and a laugh. Edgeworth goes a little crazy when Oldbag flirts with him. So rather it being "I'm HOT", his attitude seems more likely to me to be "I'm HOT SHIT". (This is not to say that Edgeworth thinks of himself as ugly. I don't really think he gives it much consideration one way or the other aside from wanting to be well groomed.)
- Look at Edgeworth's mannerisms in 3-4. He's like a miniature von Karma--something he doesn't show when we see him in the first game. This leads me to believe that he only broke away from von Karma upon passing the bar and becoming a lawyer in his own right. Since college requires you to interact with other people and take in new ideas, I just can't see him coming from that sort of institution and being such a von Karma 2.0, right down to the finger waggle.
- von Karma's revenge. As Raelle put it, "Ideally, as far as von Karma's concerned, Edgeworth's only companions should be his nightmares and the law." Plus, I just can't see von Karma, who considers himself to be the most brilliant prosecutor that ever lived, entrusting the education of his revenge to people that might dilute his influence. Unless Edgeworth went to Evil Lawyer School, I can't imagine that things like legal ethics weren't covered in depth and that he met and interacted with people that weren't Satan. (Even if you think von Karma had him well brainwashed at this point, would someone as meticulous as von Karma really take a chance?)
- This isn't to say Edgeworth lived in a box. I imagine the von Karmas travelled fairly frequently, and I think Edgeworth honestly spent a lot of time at the Prosecutor's Office in the company of von Karma and outside his presence. I imagine he was frequently his second at the bench as well once he got to be a certain age. This also makes the "suicide note" make more sense to me. If law was the only thing Edgeworth really had...then leaving it behind really is a suicide of sorts.
(As an aside, it is true! In California, you can indeed pass the bar by studying under another lawyer in lieu of higher education. Only something like twenty or so people have done it though?)

I love to have my mind changed or opened up by fiction of any sort - it's kind of what fiction is for, to my mind
I do have very particular views on what kind of college environment Von Karma would have enrolled Edgeworth in because you're right I don't think he'd have waved him off to any old school if he couldn't retain some control over his education and some restriction on his social activities. But Lord knows if I'll ever put it on paper because it's all a bit peculiar in the way that only the Von Karma Family Cult (like the Von Trapp Family Singers but without the cuteness or Julie Andrews) could be

You're right on the mark when you point out that emotional intelligence means squat when you're just getting sex. His stilted social skills mean for me, in my mind, he'd be a hopeless long-term prospect for anyone, male or female. But let's be frank, he's hot, rich and can most likely turn on the 'Young Miles' charm now and then... he could most definitely get some.
However, I don't reckon it's a barren wasteland for 'modern day Miles' He's busy, grumpy, and is a stresshead of the highest order, yes, BUT... You know what is a wonderful stress reliever, and makes one forget about all the trials and tribulations of life? Sex. And this is probably the reason he has it - not for the emotional reasons.
I'm not trying to disprove anyone's theories at all, everyone's of course entitled, and because of the nature of the games, being almost book-like, characters are open for interpretation, and will inevitably have people think differently of them.

And I still don't think Edgeworth is a virgin. The way I see it, he has no problem dealing with people, he just isn't used to dealing with people nicely. Which is why he has no trouble talking smack, but giving compliments or showing gratitude is really awkward for him. There are plenty of characters in anime and manga like this (especially since the "rival turned friend" theme is so common). And as King pointed out earlier, you certainly don't have to be "nice" to get sex if you're hot, rich, and a genius. As for "LOL, GANT RAEP!", it's like Kingy said, Gant isn't a rapist by trade. It's one of the tools in his bag of tricks and I wouldn't be surprised if he forced Lana to screw him under the desk once or twice. (No cheap and dirty power trips? That's the man's bread and butter.)

Its an obvious one, he has yet to be in a serious enough relationship for that, I doubt he was mature enough for that kind of intimacy until after he became an attorney. - To be honest, Edgey probably has not been around the block.
