As the topic says, who did you guys originally think was the killer in all the cases before you discovered who the real killer was, and which ones shocked you and which ones didn't? I'll go through mine.

Spoiler: Every Phoenix game. Every case.
1-1: Obviously :sawit: since we did see him do it after all.
1-2: :redd: And this one was obvious as well
1-3: I'll be honest. I did suspect :devasque: as soon as I saw her. Very suspicious looking. Glad to have got one right.
1-4: I guessed this one was :yogi: as soon as I saw him. I didn't really have any suspects before that.
1-5: I was convinced that it was :jake: . Looked to me like he was jealous that Goodman was still a detective after what happened. I figured it was :gant: when he was the only one left who we hadn't already examined.

2-1: Obviously :wellington:
2-2: :ditz: . I didn't think :tea: played a part though, even with those scary eyes.
2-3: :regina: Mainly because she was the least suspicious. Also, she didn't seem upset when she realised her dad died.
2-4: Obviously :shelly: kidnapping Maya and whatnot.

3-1: :chinami: Obviously
3-2: :luke-side: I suspected him alright for the theft. And for the murder. Because I know that the game would somehow do that.
3-3: :zenitora: As if you couldn't tell from the back of the guys head when it showed you.
3-4: :chinami: Obvious really
3-5: I didn't know who to suspect here. I personally thought Iris and Dahlia were the same person rather than twins, and the defendant wasn't going to be guilty without someone being kidnapped. When I realised they were twins, I instantly thought Dahlia, in Pearls body killed Misty. I was a bit dopey with this one. Godot totally threw me off though.


So I didn't get too many wrong. I haven't played AJ so I can't tell you.

Leaving off the first two for obvious reasons...
1-3: Dee Vasquez.
1-4: Shamefully, I genuinely believed it was Edgey.
1-5: I was close with this one. I did think it was Gant, but I thought Angel Starr was an accomplice. Seriously, what were the odds of the witness being someone involved in SL-9?
2-2:I got this one utterly perfect. Down to the last detail.
2-3: I was wavering beetween Acro & Regina on this one...
2-4: I actually expected a new character to get introduced, cause Adrian didn't make sense, but Matt was your defendant!
3-1: I thought the lightening did it.
3-2: I thought Luke for the theft, Dessie for the murder.
3-3: Like any of us didn't guess this one...
3-4: Dahlia, obviously.
3-5: I didn't have a clue.
4-1: Olga Orly.
4-2: I actually thought it was Eldoon for a while... (Alita fanboyism still present...)
4-3: At first, Lamiroir. But as soon as we found out she was blind, I suspected Daryan.
4-4:Until Kristoph entered into it, I wasn't sure.
4-4 Flashback case: Valant.

1-3: I was actually worried it'd be Penny for a while...
1-4: Manfred. Had that "I r ebil" feel and I was half-right.
1-5: Gant.
2-1: Wellington, obviously.
2-2: Was spoiled for this.
2-3: Regina. Because she was just too innocent and too mary sue-ish for me to believe it was all genuine.
2-4: Was spoiled.
3-1: Dahlia, had the 'too innocent to be true' vibes.
3-2: Desiree, especially when she showed up with the vase. I thought she'd done it but hadn't wanted Ron to take the fall so hired Phoenix to help.
3-3: Spoiled for this.
3-4: Dahlia, obvious.
3-5: Spoiled for this.
4-1: Kristoph. When no one else was introduced and he kept pushing for Apollo to nail Olga I thought it had to be him.
4-2: Alita. It's that "I only want the best for my BF!" feel, I swear.
4-3: Daryan. Just had a feeling.
4-4: Kristoph. He's in the intro of the case afterall.

Spoiler: every game, every case
1-1 = Sahwit.
1-2 = I couldn't decide between April and White for a while, but it soon became clear.
1-3 = Sal. XD because I thought Dee would be too obvious, IDK
1-4 = I thought it was Edgeworth too @__@ but I knew he showed up later in the game, so I was confused
1-5 = The man's name was DAMON Gant. Dead giveaway.

2-1 = Wellington, who else
2-2 = Morgan.
2-3 = Moe. Because he's a creeper. But I grew to like him later.
2-4 = I had already known about Matt's dark side. Although Adrian had me fooled for a while. (Most confusing case EVAR)

3-1 = I had been spoiled about the fact that Dahlia is a psycho, so I knew it'd be her.
3-2 = I suspected Luke for everything, really. Except Ron confused me for a while.
3-3 = Tigre Tigre Tigre
3-4 = Dahlia of course
3-5 = I was clueless through the whole thing. I thought that it was Dahlia in Pearl's body at one point. Then near the end it hit me that it was Godot and my heart kinda shattered a little D:

4-1 = Olga. (I actually played AJ first, so Kristoph's guilt surprised me XD)
4-2 = I was kinda clueless.
4-3 = I thought it was Lamiroir at first, then Daryan became sorta obvious.
4-4 = This is tough for me to recall because I played it on-and-off inbetween the first 3 games ... but yeah, we all know Kristoph's a murderer so it was pretty obvious near the end.
Kay, you might want to tone the ruffling down a bit.

2-3 I thought Ben killed him with Trilo. But when Acro was introduced, it was blatantly obvious.
2-4 Adrian. Because they had to make us think that. I was hoping it was Oldbag though, so she wouldn't return ever again.

3-1 Obvious
3-2 I knew Atmey was evil the first time I saw him.
3-3 Too obvious once you met Tigre. But before that I though it was Armstrong.
3-4 "Melissa" obviously.
3-5 I spoiled myself... :sadshoe: I really wish I hadn't, because I never would have thought it was Godot.


They didn't do a very good job hiding the murderer in T&T, except for 3-5.

I really wish I hadn't spoiled myself on AA and 3-5.

Excluding all the cases where the murderer was shown at the intro...

Spoiler: Almost every case
1-3: I was new to the series back then, so I suspected almost everyone. XD
1-4: I had actually been spoiled by Wikipedia that von Karma killed Gregory.
1-5: Gant.
2-2: Miney was pretty much a given, since she was talking about "getting revenge" in the intro; Morgan came as a surprise though.
2-3: Acro and Regina.
2-4: I was too confused.
3-1: Who didn't suspect Dahlia?
3-2: I was spoiled about Atmey being the mastermind behind Mask☆DeMasque, but I expected a new character to show up during the second investigation.
3-4: Dahlia.
3-5: I was too confused, once again.
4-1: Olga. I was one of the few people who didn't spoil myself about Kristoph.
4-2: No one, really. Until the end of the second investigation, that is.
4-3: Daryan.
4-4: Kristoph (flashback: Valant)

1-1 = Duh.
1-2 = same as above. though it confused me that I didn't get to talk to White the first day XD
1-3 = Dee.
1-4 = I had no idea, until von Karma came on screen. Then I knew he had something to do with the murder. I didn't suspect Yanni, though. I suspected Lotta.
1-5 = Angel.

3-1 = I was kinda spoiled on this one, but had forgotten all about it. I still suspected Dahlia XD
3-2 = Luke. But I though Adrian was involved.
3-3 = This was way too easy. Tigre.
3-4 = "Melissa" of course.
3-5 = I was spoiled, so I knew it was Godot. But the whole case confused so much that I didn't believe it XD I thought Maya really did Dahlia in Elises body.

4-1 = I genuinely thought Nick did it. Then when Olga was introduced I thought it was her. Then when Nick said there was a fourth person I knew it was Kristoph.
4-2 = Eldoon.
4-3 = Klavier. What? I suspected Daryan!
4-4 = Brushel.
4-4 flashback case = Zak. He was suspicious as hell with that peptalk, I thought he actually did it :/


When will I learn not to spoil myself on the best cases?! D:

1 - 3: I suspected Dee the first time I saw her.
1 - 4: Since I was too stupid, I spoiled myself the game before playing it.
1 - 5: I had no clue...but that Gant had something wrong.

2 - 1: Obviously Richard.
2 - 2: I thought it was Mimi and Morgan...but I didn't know how they did do it.
2 - 3: This was the only case where I was right getting both the killer AND how the murder was done. That's why it's my favourite xD
2 - 4: I thought it was Adrian.

All T&T: I was too stupid...and I spoiled all the cases before playing them...

4 - 1: I didn't know...I didn't suspect anyone.
4 - 2: Hmm same as above.
4 - 3: Daryan.

3-2: :luke-side: ATMEY. He was suspicious from the start! I mean.....Yah! O_O

Pretty much the obvious for most cases however...

I seriously suspected :badger:.

I dunno how it would be possible considering the thing isn't even alive, but I had my suspicions after seeing this. Omg, look at how evil it looks D8. How could anybody not suspect it? Maybe I'm just stupid but still.

Ehm, I think I should contribute more to this thread:

Spoiler: Every AA so far.
1-1: I had no idea what the f@#? was going on. (Hey, first case right?)
1-2: Of course, the start showed who it was...
1-3: I thought it was Sal Manella, I even blamed Oldbag. :meekins:
1-4: First time I saw Lotta. I thought that girl was fishy.
1-5: I actually liked Gant, he came up with 'Udgey' right? I suspected Marshall, he was hiding something under that hat.... :jake:

2-1: Could you get more obvious?
2-2: Morgan Fey was my main, suspect, until the crime actually happened, then I was just confused.
2-3: I though he fell from the roof ledge and hit his head on the box (Seriously!)
2-4: Adrian was just suspicious, but good thing I didn't like Maya then... he-he-he.

I have to say, the murderers are actually pretty predictable. It's difficult to figure out exactly what happened and everyone's relations at once, but the question of who the murderer is is pretty simple.

Spoiler: AA
1-1: Frank. Who else?
1-2: Redd. It was 'cause I figured it out on my own. Not the opening video or anything. Really!
1-3: Dee. Will is innocent, Penny is too bland, Cody is too young, Oldbag is too old, and Sal is too fat.
1-4: Yanni Yoggi. The only other characters in the case were Grossberg and Larry (obviously no) and Lotta (didn't suspect her).
DL-6: Manfred. It obviously wasn't Yanni Yogi since he was set up to be the killer, and there was no one else there at the time...
1-5: Gant. The death-glare of doom made it obvious he was evil.
SL-9: I actually didn't think about it until it was obvious it was Gant xD "It was 2 years ago... does it really matter so much? T_T"


Spoiler: JFA
2-1: Wellington. BUT IT WASN'T 'CAUSE HE ATTACKED ME.
2-2: Ini and Morgan. Mia basically tells you it was Morgan, and otherwise Ini would've been a pointless character. And it wasn't Lotta.
2-3: Acro. Regina and Ben are too stupid, and Moe is a pretty cool guy. So there was no one else.
2-4: Matt. Considering he listens to you as soon as you say something about De Killer, it makes it pretty obvious something's up >_>


Spoiler: T&T
3-1: Dahlia. Duh.
3-2: Atmey. The only character in the case besides Dessie and Ron.
3-3: Tigre. Once again, not b/c of the opening!
3-4: Ms. Foster. Not Dahlia. At all.
3-5: Dahlia. They broke the mold, at least.


Spoiler: AJ
4-1: Olga. This is the one where they really broke the mold. I didn't really think it was her b/c of the evidence, but just b/c I didn't think your mentor would be it and she was the only character xD
4-2: Alita. First thought: "Wow, she looks kinda evil when she crosses her fingers like that..."
4-3: Daryan. Lamirior was innocent, and the only other character left was Klavier. I really did want Klavier to be guilty, but I knew it wouldn't be so.
4-4: Didn't know. The only character is Vera (Sparkie doesn't count), and it's obvious that it's Kristoph as soon as he comes in.
Flashback: Valant. Didn't everybody?

2-4: Matt, with all the evidence from the very beginning. I know. Bad Amy. And I didn't know about any spoilers.
3-1: When I found out that Dahlia was present, it was her.
3-2: I thought Luke for the theft and murder.
3-3: Duh, obvious.

3-5: When [the killer] was found at the Inner Temple after repairments.

I almost always figure out the murderer before the character, but I also have a tendency to come up with "gut feeling" theories early in the case. So, here are some of my investigation day 1 suspects:
Spoiler: everything
1-3 - Penny because if she were that useless they wouldn't have bothered making sprites for her. Turns out I was wrong, she really was useless.
1-5 - Meekins who wanted to get revenge on the ones who were mocking him. Of course, as soon as I heard Gant's theme music, I knew that wasn't going to happen.
2-2 - Pearls channeling Mimi instead of Maya...
2-3 - Either Regina or every member of the circus except her, as Berry was in fact a complete bastard that everyone wanted dead.
3-2 - I thought Atmey was the thief, and Desiree the murderer.
3-5 - I thought Iris was Dahlia, so you can imagine who I was suspecting... I also considered the possibility of Pearls channeling Dahlia.
4-2 - Eldoon because of his grudge and the fact that the victim was found pulling a noodle stand.
4-3 - Valant, because he looked incredibly suspicious.

Allow me to begin:

Spoiler: All games, including AJ. Read at your own risk!
1-1: :sawit: For more reasons then one. The intro video, and his suspicious giddiness. And he knew more then a witness should.

1-2: :redd: Because of the intro, and because of his suspicious giddiness. He also indicted Phoenix in his desperation. I suspected that :grossburg: was an accomplice until I found :april: 's wiretap. Then I suspected blackmail.

1-3: :oldbag: For a time. :sal: came next, but then :devasque: 's suspiciousness gave her away.

1-4: :lotta-smug: most definately seemed suspicious. :yogi: seemed too "drunk" too be the killer. :karma: took me by surprise.

The DL-6 Incident: :yogi: was suspicious, too. The murder weapon was his belonging, and after hearing Edgeworth's story on it, I was convinced that it wasn't a gun at all that he picked up.

1-5: :angel: 's testimony seemed a bit too convienient to be true. I suspected her. Next came :damon: . You know why.

The Evidence Room "murder": :jake: was a suspect. He had easy access in and out due to him being on security detail in the evidence room. :meekins: was also a large suspect, for more reasons then one.

SL-9 Incident: :darke: was my first suspect. Probably a few other people on the forums started with that opinion too. I'm shamed to say I suspected :notes: too. At the climax of the game, :damon: was revealed.

2-1: :wellington: what with the fire extinguisher incident and all. He also was a chatterbox who always changed the topic when things looked bad.

2-2: I first thought it was :maya: - :Mimi: . Then :knock-knock: for enough reasons. Seriously, I doubted that :tea: was an accomplice.

2-3: :regina: . After some circus time :punch-ben: was a suspect. Next was :acro: . You know why.

2-4: Didn't think that :adrian: was in it at all until it was shown that she set-up Engarde. I felt her as a victim, not a suspect. She didn't have the personality that a killer would have. :matt: being the killer surprised me. :shelly: came as no surprise.

3-1: Ain't it obvious? :chinami: was my first guess!

3-2: I thought that :luke-side: was suspicious the whole time. I guessed that on that day, Atmey had an accomplice that stole the urn while Atmey killed KB.

3-3: Intro video told me it was :zenitora: . I guessed that :chef: was an accomplice, too. :seeds: didn't strike me as the killer though.

3-4: :chinami: was my guess that whole time.

3-5: :chinami: channeled by :pearl: was my guess. Later I suspected :maya: had channeled :chinami: and she killed Misty.

4-1: :olga-catch: was my first suspect. Then it was :garyuu: . You know why.

4-2: :study: did it! At least, that's that's what I hoped. :( Then I found that Alita did it.

4-3: :kyouya: ! I thought that because :beard: held his keys. :haha: was next on the line.

4-4: :egg: did it IMO at the beginning. "Freelance Journalist puts Deadly Atroquinine in Artist's Coffee, Murders him," end quote. :garyuu: next. He was just too suspicious.

Seven Years Ago: I didn't think that :varan: or Zak did it. I guessed right, I guessed suicide.

1-3: Sal. Mainly because he scared me. But then Dee, what with the whole 'Imma gettin' ma boiz on u' act.

I suspected him for DL-6 too.
1-5: Hell, I was confused. Then :gant: appeared, and I was scared. The rest is history.


2-1: I suspected :wellington: , of course. It had something to do with the fact he whacked Niock with a fire extinguisher.
2-2: :tea: . And I wasn't /completely/ wrong, I guess...
2-3: :regina:. More the fact she irritated the hell out of me than anything.
2-4: :matt: I can't say I was fooled by the 'refreshing' act for a minute.

3-1: Dahlia. The main reason being that my lovely friend thought it would be a good idea to say 'Don't let Dahlia Hawthorne near your cold medicine' before I played it. Plus, the sweetness thing has -never- worked for me.
3-2: :zaviaar: I always thought him suspicious.
3-3: Jean at first, then :zenitora:
3-4: :chinami: Mainly because in 3-1, it was mentioned she and Mia had 'met before'.

I usually never suspect anyone. I just gather information until I get a prime suspect. But there are some exceptions.

Spoiler:
1-5 I didn't really suspect Gant... until I heard his music. Then I went into denial mode, because "He's too jolly to be the murderer!" I really liked him when he pwned Edgeworth. *shot*
2-2 I suspected Morgan, but then I was like "She has an airtight alibi..." I was honestly clueless.
2-3 Regina. I thought the note was from her to Russell. He's the only one who killed anyone (Leon), therefore she had a motive.
2-4 SHE DID IT :adrian-crunch:
3-2 I spoiled myself that Luke was Fake*DeMasque, but didn't suspect him for the murder even though I SAW HIS BREAKDOWN ON YOUTUBE. But this case is the only one where that's forgivable.
4-1 I didn't suspect Olga, really. My brother spoiled me on this one.
4-2 I suspected the one that all the decisive evidence pointed to. :minas:

I was horrified because I thought the possession of Pearl had went through smoothly and she'd killed Misty, I actually got a guilty verdict on the moment when you need to name the killer cause I didn't select Godot.


Apart from that 1-5 surprised me...just because the killer seemed like such a nice awesome guy. :garyuu:
