What exactly have they got to do with each other? I mean, he was never mentioned in 1-4, yet the photo on Grossberg's desk implies that he has to do with it, as DL-6 - 1 (or 2) was scrawled on the back of it.

If I remember right (and it's very possible I've forgotten something) basically, Grossberg had leaked the story about DL-6 to Red White for something and White leaked it to the papers and that was what trashed Misty's reputation.

I think someone stated it earlier Redd gave Grossberg alot of Money for leaking out about the whole spirit medium thingy. Then he blackmailed Grossberg and Grossberg agreed because he wouldnt let anyone know that he betrayed them

That's exactly right. And now in more detail:

There wasn't enough evidence for the DL-6 incident to find the murderer. In a desperate attempt, the police consulted Misty Fey, a spirit medium, to channel Gregory Edgeworth, the victim. That way, Gregory could tell who murdered him and the police knew who they'd have to go after. But Gregory himself didn't know who killed him, so he used logical reasoning and pointed to the only man he thought could kill him: Yanni Yogi.
So, the prosecution went after Yanni Yogi, but thanks to Robert Hammond's defense, Yanni was found innocent. If people would find out that the spirit medium pointed at an innocent man, they would all think the spirit medium is one big hoax. Thanks oo this, the police tried to keep the whole spirit medium thing a secret.
However, Grossberg knew of this and he got greedy. He sold Misty Fey out and leaked out this secret to Redd White for a lot of money. Redd White took this information and leaked it to the press. And so, Misty's reputation was ruined, as her channeling was seen as a hoax. Now Redd White had to opportunity to blackmail Grossberg. Redd White threatened to tell everyone that Grossberg sold out Misty Fey, and that would ruin Grossberg's reputation.

This is basically how Redd White tied in to the DL-6 incident, if I recall correctly.

Actually, they do mention White in 1-4. But it's missable and really brief . You have to go to Grossberg's office on the 1st day after getting the autopsy report but before getting the Photo from Lotta. All it basically is Phoenix saying Mia probably knew the deal between Grossberg & White. Nothing Special.
