I won't be laughing when I open the wallet to pay for something and it catches fire in my hands.

Hm, nah, I probably would. But it'd be sad to see that Phoenix Wright go up into flames. ... hey, wait a minute... "Phoenix Wright! Were you the one who tried to torch me!?"

Not sure if this counts, but there is a play called waiting for Godot...

That probably doesn't count, no, since his name is an Waiting for Godot-reference. :-P

When I sat on the bus earlier today I caught my reflection in the window. It had been very windy outside, so my hair was a bit what it was. Anyway, there were some strands of hair standing right up, looking like some very lame excuse for Apollo-spikes. Needless to say, I flattened my hair. (My hair is much longer than that, but there were some shorter strands on top of my head from growing out unevenly.)

It runs in the family. :apollo:

I have two chunks of hair above my forehead that are for some unknown reason slightly shorter than my other hair. I'll dub this 'do "the Anti-Apollo".

I overheard someone on the train today saying "Coffee, coffee, coffee and everything is fine". That's so... Apollodot. :godot: :apollo:

Also, I'm reading a book where a character's last name is De Ron.

One of the fighters in Super Punch Out is this person:

It's a darker skinned Nahyuta! Keep in mind this was released waaay before SoJ though.

Gosh. Never pluck those eyebrows, Nahyuta.

Post subject:  Re: Unintentional GS connections in real life.

Fyi, that character is based off of a particular fashion statement that is sometimes seen in traditional Japanese theater. You sometimes see that style on noh masks as well.

Not saying that Nahyuta's design is necessarily based off of Japanese theater, as removing eyebrows is a classical fashion trend with several East Asian cultures.

He's in the world circuit with a record of 14-8?! Get outta here!

In case you're wondering,he actually uses his hair as an attack. He acts all creepy too. In the credits,he says, and I quote,'You are so strong. Hoo hoo hoo hooo.' So yea,be on edge around this guy. Who knows,he may even bead you like his cousin Yuty

Neither him nor Yuty have any reason to bead me. :o

Don't worry. I think you'll be safe as long as you never enter a Japanese theatre, courtroom or a boxing ring ever again in your life.

One of my schoolbooks mentioned legal skepticism and how they think a judge who wants to hand down a certain verdict will find a way to interpret the law in a way that allows them to construct a reason for the desired verdict: "Jerome Frank once said, that it matters more what the judge had for breakfast than what the law says".

It made me think about this piece of dialogue from AJ:

Judge:
Why I remember exactly what I
ate the morning of the crime!

Judge:
.......................

Judge:
Ahem!
Penalty!

Apollo:
(...No fair.)

Made worse considering the exact quote is apparently "Justice is what the judge at for breakfast". Please refrain from eating the defense... (I wonder whether this was actually a coincidence or if it was an intentional reference)

Hahaha, shoot! Is that what it would look like if you wrote a book about law?

Elaborating on theories and philosophies with the use of AA-quotes that may or may not be relevant and/or referencing the thing I'm writing about in question? Yes. Yes, it would.

According to sociologist Erik Olin Wright, the middle classes are characterised by "contradictory class positions". Wrights and their contradictions.

Some day ago I read some prayer somewhere, and it started with "Spirit of Justice [...]"

Yesss. Praise the lawd. :gregory:

Had to google "prayer + spirit of justice" now to check if it was a common way of starting prayers since I barely know anything about how people use to pray, didn't find much, but... "May we always act in the Spirit of justice."

Such a title was always going to be the centre of unintentional connections and coincidences.

Still, definitely felt more like an unintentional connection to me than if I had read, say, "justice for all" or "trials and tribulations" somewhere.

I just heard a report on the radio now: "A legendary defense attorney from Texas has died today. ...[He was] a 5'8-9" figure who would enter the courtroom and take over the entire trial..."
And, uh, something about a 3-year career streak.

I didn't know Nick was from Texas. Or maybe it's a guy Jake knew. RIP, good man.

In Remember11, a lawyer saying "I'm fine!" in a scene where she was complaining about other characters' inability to put a ripped up newspaper back together. Makes sense, as we know lawyers are good at solving puzzles.

This morning I saw a guy walking down the road in a blue hat and a grey hoodie. :hobohodo:

Also, a few months ago I came across an episode of Dateline that was already halfway through. They were interviewing the prosecutor for the case and I swear he looked exactly like Winston Payne (grey suit, glasses, greyish sideburns). The only thing he was missing was his shrieky voice.

There's an airline called Alitalia. I know it's a portmanteau of Ali (which means fly in Italian) and Italy, but it reminds me of Alita Tiala a bit. :alitahands:

This came up on youtube after a song ended, "vocs of steel". Turned out to be some reaction video to Miley Cyrus singing. I wonder if she screams "MY NAME IS MILEY CYRUS AND I'M FINE!" at night.

I haven't checked yet but I might be the same age as some of these characters, as in having the same birth year.
Does anyone else think they may have a similar birthday or something to one of these characters...?

I got a tattoo of Apollo holding the scales of justice today, and while that was completely intentional, stuff happened along the way that I found fitting.
First, it was me. For the day, without thinking about it I put on a shirt with rolled up sleeves, reddish slacks and black shoes (plus gold bracelet, but I always have that).
Second of all, it was an Asutralian guy that did the tattoo for me, so we spoke English, and therefore the very first thing I said to him today happened to be "I'm fine". (I think I said that once or twice more during the process as well)
Then someone put on Tenacious D, with lyrics such as "I don't need a microphone, my voice is so powerful" and "rise of the phoenix". Then they put on Dio and one guy said about the singer that "all his height went to his vocal chords".
And between lines and colouring, the artist took a break to eat his hamburgers sushi.
