Can you tell that little girl that I absolutely adore her? Especially with her amazing vocab, haha. How would you go about saying that? Sorry if the below was mentioned before, but I didn't read the whole thread. The only connection I know near me is there is a Wright State University that I couldn't afford to go to this year but I will try to attend next year. (Of course, the Wright is for the Wright Brothers (the famous flying duo) but who's counting, Wright--er, right?) Also, that story about the girl in your class objecting made me chuckle. Niiiiice. |

So, today I borrowed a script for the play that my school's doing for the fall so that I could practice for auditions, and I'm thumbing through it when I get to this line. Who are you waiting for? Godot And at the end, Godot turns out to be this bad ass mother fucking alien who killed a guy, stuffed him in a trunk, and sent down one of his minions to be an assistant to this woman, and they blame the whole murder on this woman. |

Oh, I have a good one... So, in my German class, all of the students end up with German names. These can either be actual things people name their kids in German-speaking countries, or really weird names comprised of German words (for instance, Kuliflugzeugfisch,, which means 'pen-flying fish'). So this year I had no idea what I was going to go by, so the teacher and an austrian exchange student kept throwing out random German names.... and I ended up with Franziska. Not my idea at all, though I was of course happy to go with it! |

If I listed every kid at my school that shared a name with an Ace Attorney character, I think the only ones left out would be Manfred, Franziska, and...um...Nick. Kids have crazy names these days. One of the little boys named Gavin, (and I'll only mention him by name because there are [i]several,[i]) wore a shirt with an electric guitar on it today. It had a plastic area on it that you could squeeze to make it play a little guitar riff. It was pretty much super rad. (Until it went off over and over and over while I was trying to read a book. You can't just take a little boy's shirt away.) |

I know, lots of people share names with PW characters, I just thought the whole Gavin thing was funny because he was in my forensics class... even though neither of the Gavin brothers are in forensics... eh, never mind... Oh, but also keep in mind that I was born in the nineties, you know, back when most people were still giving their kids somewhat normal names. But wow, no Nicks? Not even one!? That's sad. Is Apollo the greek god that tried out life as a man, then a woman, then decided that it was more fun to be woman? Or was that someone else? I'm a bit rusty on my greek mythology. |

While I was doing research on Latin mottos for a project my students are going to work on, I discovered something funny about California's state motto. It is none other than Eureka! (at least according to one source I consulted, but I should go back and verify it again--bad teacher /slaps hand.) I'm not really sure if that was unintentional or not, but I doubt the game localization team had that in mind when trying to come up with Edgeworth's phrase. |

I can't be the only guilty John Grisham fan around here. His latest book is about a fresh-out-of-law-school upstart that, instead of practicing the law the way he really wants to, ends up getting bossed around all over the place by a guy named Wright. I guess it only sounds like Apollo Justice when you word it exactly like that. It has minor characters named Gavin and Gant, though. (And Gant pretty much does Jake Marshall's job.) |

XD Today on the bus home, this car passed us with the number plate WURAIN, which made me think of Kurain, and while I was pondering this, a Phoenix Juice truck drove past. Also, near my school, there's a place called Wright Spa Pools, which is located next to AJ Auto Electric (AJ, as in Apollo Justice, though I'm pretty sure that's not what it really stands for) |
