Well, this game would be different than an Ace Attorney game. Instead of going to court, you investigate at your own pace instead of following a set pace.
There are a few different phases.

Unlike Ace Attorney, you don't move from place to place. You select which phase to go to from the phase menu. In investigation, though, you can move from place to place. Also, the interrogation is an unlockable phase.

Investigation: In this, you take photos of the area, and find evidence. You can zoom in on certain areas. Take blood samples, find fingerprints, and tape the area of the dead body. You can talk to people, to find witnesses. Then you ask them about the characteristics of the person you saw. Not everybody you talk to is a witness, though. Just for the record, a few pieces of evidence are not necessary for the case. A few pieces will not even be used.

Evidence Examination: Here, you examine fingerprints, blood, make autopsies, and make background checks on witnesses. You can also further zoom in on pieces of evidence.

Report: Here, you drag pieces of necessary evidence to designated areas. For example, you drag the murder weapon you found into the part of the report "Murder Weapon". For all the parts, there is "Motive", "Witnesses", "Suspect", "Fingerprints", and "Further Evidence". Then, on the top of the screen, you press "File Report" once you feel that you have enough evidence. Then, the police chief will tell you if its good enough to make a case, or not good enough to make a case. Although, sometimes, he will say you have enough to make a case enough if you don't have enough evidence. This will not help during the interrogation phase. Once the chief approves your report(although it might not be enough), you will unlock the interrogation phase.

Interrogation: Here is the core of the case. In this part, you select anybody in the profiles page and ask them questions about the time of the crime. This is like a physque lock mixed with a cross examination. You find don't always find contradictions, but just present evidence to tell them about a certain person or piece of evidence. As you present more and more evidence contrary to what they say, the truth will come out. But, many people you interrogate don't even matter to make a case. Eventually, you'll find who the killer was, through the truth of witnesses, and maybe you might even interrogate the victim. But beware, you might not always have the evidence to incriminate someone, so you might have to move back to the investigation phase to get more evidence.

Then, once you find the true killer, you'll see a small scene of Gumshoe testifying, and the Guilty verdict coming down.

Just an idea.

Doing that would take a lot of time.
coding everything, adding sprites, etc.
It's not like it takes over night.
Interesting idea, though.

DO WANT!!! =D

Srsly, this sounds AWSOME.

If someone made it, I'd play it.

Edit: Oh yeah, if some people DID get together to make something like this, I have an idea: Maybe Ema could be there as an intern at the police station so she could be a reason to be able to do forensics work? :D

I'd play this game for sure, but I have a teeny, tiny bit of criticism....

Since when has this ever happened in the AA series so far? All the "murderers" that Gumshoe's arrested so far in the series have turned out to be innocent....except one. :matt:

Er, the ones that we've seen. It's not like he runs into Phoenix on every case he's involved in.

...Not to mention we'll get to see him arrest a few murderers in GK.

I think Gyatuken Keiji would make more sense than Gyatuken Kenji will anyway, as Edgey's too much of a Detective in GK.

I'd play it it sounds totally awesome but...
Considering that in the upcoming GK there is no courtwork and it's all investigation and detective work...I suppose it would be easy to make that a Dick Gumshoe-based game....but it probably wouldn't have as much appeal as if Edgey was the main star *grumble wumbles*

Here's the whole thing with Gumshoe- he is literally always with the prosecutor Phoenix goes against. So really, if he does get a game, then we'll probably just hear about his adventures with Edgeworth--which we ALREADY get to see in GK.

The series revolves around being perceptive too; sorry to say this, but Gumshoe isn't the most perceptive guy when it comes to doing his investigations or figuring people out, as we see in AA through T&T. So what exactly do we get from Gumshoe in a game? He looks at crime scenes, probably has some talks with Miles, which Miles dominates at because he's the perceptive character to their partnering, and then that's it for the first one. Oh wait--GK does that :|

Besides I think we're grasping at straws here. I highly highly doubt Gumshoe will be getting a game, in a distant future. Remember too- GK wasn't created by the normal GS crew. GK in itself is a spin-off game.

I like it, but it sounds kind of similar to my impression of Gyakuten Kenji. But of course, I have avoided information about GK in order to "stay clean", so my impression might be far off :P

By the way, I vision the interrogation part of your game to be like the conclusion of a Columbo-episode. Y'know, how he always confronts the increasingly tense villain with his great tricks, until he gets the confession he wants. I love Columbo, he is the best TV-detective ever, and I always thought of Dick Gumshoe as some sort of homeage to him. Which I guess is why I like him so much!

Listen your not wrong with your idea!

It's just that they've mistakenly named GK: Perfect Prosecutor rather than Dedicated Detective.
It should totally be Gumshoe's show, at least considering that all the work is detective work and such considering you don't enter the court at all....but then all the fanboys and girls wouldn't have reason to go SQUEEEE!!!!!
