Now that is what I would like Gyakuten 5 to be. Sure it probably wont happen, but It would give me more of a reason to buy and play through Apollo Justice at the price of $30, that's for sure. Because I am not going to spoil the game for myself on the internet.

Plus if you did that prequel idea it's just another way to push Apollo out of it....he started his first case in GS4 didn't he? He'd just be watching Klavier Gavin work as a legal aide. Is it really that hard to understand why everyone is gone? It's hinted that Edgey is over in Europe somewhere and Godot is probably in his prison, Maya maintains contact with Nick and send him DVD's and as for Franziska....is it that unlikely that Fransiska is still doing law but ISN'T guaranteed a trial against the new Apollo Justice...why would she need to appear in his game she's got no grudge against him and had dumped her grudge with Nick by GS3, there's plenty other trials and law disputes going on I'm sure she's probably kicking some rookie defense attorny's ass somewhere.

When Nick is in Hospital he's surrounded by DVD's of Steel Samurai/Pink Princess and a bazillion other 'Samurai's' and when you examine them he says a friend keeps sending him then cause what else do you have to do when your in hospital.
Maya would have taken over the title of Master of Kurain since Misty snuffed it.

A bit of a stretch especially what with the whole scientific angle the series seems to be taking...not that I wouldn't mind seeing GS5 Maya crushing Ema brutally and severely.

You could have a game which was before and after game 4. The chars could start on something between 3-5 and 4-1 and Apollo could wrap it up years later.

Maya and Edgeworth. Their absence is inexplicable and a plot hole. Everyone else can be relatively easily explained.
I mean, they could have reffed Maya so easily in the flashback '[Phoenix to Zak:Pity my assistant couldn't get back here on such short notice...'] or something.
I think 4-1 is the worst. Maya would be there to support Phoenix. He's on trial for murder, for heaven's sake. Even if they hadn't spoken in years she'd support him, he only saved her from 3 murder charges? And if she's sending the DVDs, they're obviously in close communication. Maybe they'll do a Larry and in GS5 try and claim she was spiritual training in Siberia for the last 5 years or something weird.

A plothole doesn't require a contradiction. And anyway it is contradictory to her characterisation in 3-5. And in 3-5 credits she states how she will be both Kurain Master and manager at Wright and Co and continue to look after 'Nick and Pearly'. And Phoenix being on trial for murder is a pretty serious thing, not just a random social visit. The writers give no explanations, so we have to assume Maya is adhering to her intentions in 3-5 credits (minus manager at Wright and Co, I suppose), so it is a contradictory plothole.

But in that situation she'd still come back to support him if he's on trial for murder. And her absence in the flashback is never explained either, even though a tiny indirect reference would have worked.
