I assume pretty much everyone around here have already seen the Tokyo Game Show 2005 trailer of Ace Attorney, you know the one where Maya is suspected of stealing Gumshoe's lunch ?
Well it seems that back in March 2006, Capcom France did plan to translate this very same trailer to promote the incoming French version of Phoenix Wright and somehow, it got canned.
You can now see, one year later, their almost completed work, only the music seems to be missing.
I can pretty much understand why it was cancelled though, since the voices in this version are absolutely godawful. Not only that, but some translation are downright hilarous, like what says Gumshoe in his entrance :
"Une petite affaire ?! Vous vous foutez de moi ou quoi ?!" which basically means "A petty matter ?! You must be shiting me or something ?!"

So ejoy it, or least, try to do !

French voice actor (I mean from France, Quebec voice actors are usually way better...) typically aren't very good, and not only are they showed at there worst in this video, and the translation is quite bad too. Its a shame that we will never see an official translation of this video... Thats of good quality, at least!

I suppose it really wouldn't have been so bad if they had kept the music, or at very least the sound effects. Without those, Phoenix Wright just isn't Phoenix Wright.


Probably not, considering we're far past the first game at this point. I suppose there's always hope of getting it translated (either subtitled or otherwise) if we ever get the GS Encyclopedia.
