Obviously we're all fans of Ace Attorney.
But, as in every game, there are moments that irk you. They aren't game breakers or anything, but boy do they get on your nerves.

So, list them here and/or rant. :D

This has been on my mind ever since I started 3-2:
Spoiler: 3-2, just to be safe
How could anyone even think for a moment that Luke Atmey could be Mask*deMasque? There's no frigging way he could squeeze his nose in that mask!

Unless of course the nose is fake. :yuusaku:

My one biggest gripe is a doozy: the inability to speed up the text display the first time through.

This is the giant flaw in the games. Forget the linearity, because that's not really a flaw. Forget the over-the-top silliness, because that's a plus. But I absolutely hate having to slow down my reading and wait and wait and wait while I know the contradiction, and am just pressing until I find the place the game wants me to present, and it punishes me every time I try to step ahead to make the horrible slow text stop...

I didn't realize how bad this was until I tried playing a non-used copy. My advice to players: BUY THEM USED, SO YOU CAN READ AT A SANE PACE.

On the slow text note....
When you present the wrong evidence and you cant speed up the text when the judge talks!!
soo annoying when you're used to reading fast!

Sometimes it's annoying when you present profiles of people to somebody who CLEARLY KNOWS THOSE PEOPLE, and they're all, "Sorry, I don't know who that is." I'm not talking about Larry and his 'beautiful women only' policy, I'm talking about when that person is right in the room. For example:

Spoiler: 3-2
I presented Maya's profile to Adrian while we were all in the Lordly Tailor basement, while Maya was standing right there, and Adrian had nothing to say. To be fair, yes, later in the case, the profile opened up a conversation between the two, but it's still kind of annoying. It's like, c'mon, dude! Even a couple of traded lines would suffice.

You know how when you clear any given case in PW, you get some cool case artwork? Well, I don't like the fact that there is no case artwork for 1-5 or for any case in AJ. I just hope that when Ace Attorney Investigations comes out, it will contain case artwork.

I really hated the moment that I found out there would be no 3 day trials in JFA. I hated thesame moment even more in T&T but by AJ i knew what to expect. If their is at least one 3 day trial in GS5 it will be the best thing ever.

Annoying slow speech patterns that persist through the game that you can do nothing about during the first playthrough. The first couple of people that come to mind are Ini and her "likes" and Moe and his "AHA!" For some reason, Ini has caused me to get annoyed everytime I hear Investigation-Opening 2002.

I can't remember the first time I played through the games, but when GS5 comes out I will inform you how annoying I found the speed of the text.

That annoys me too! Another ridiculous one is in 2-4 when you present Pearl's profile to Matt in jail, he says "This person looks like someone in my fan club. I'll call the fan club president and find out." and Pearl is IN THE FUCKING ROOM STANDING RIGHT NEXT TO YOU.

The Profile problem is bad, and unsolvable by design unless the writers were prepared to write scads more dialogue - or, you know, use really generic responses like "I've nothing to say about them right now" every single time.

But I think that case with Matt and Pearl is totally in-character for him.

It is the name of the famous gangster who used the Hydeout to do his "business".

Anyway, my biggest gripe is the lack of attorney-client interaction in AJ. Apart from case 2, there is hardly any interaction between Apollo and his client at all in this game (I'll let this slide for case 1, due to it being the tutorial case and all).

That bothered me too. The investigations, which is obviously when most attorney-client interaction takes place, were always my absolute favorite parts of the game, and they were so short in AJ...

The linear way of presenting evidence. Why can't there be an alternate way to a Not Guilty verdict!

Too complicated. The game does offer alternate evidence 1 or 2 times, though.

The text is fine. I do admit that I read faster than average, so it is irritating, but if you're playing the first time, you shouldn't have to skip through the texts. It prevents accidentally missing an important line.

Anyway: 4-3. Why were the characters so great, but the actual case written by a 4-year old with no grasp of logic? Eh.

The case was just too complicated. Capcom just wanted to hold the player by the balls. Even though how obvious the real killer was after 4-2-2. Also, those alternate pieces of evidence you're talking about, you don't mean the ones at the Psycho-Locks? It wouldn't be complicated, if court cases was like that too, I mean, the game would still follow its linear plot, but different pieces can be presented to get there. Sorta like the Psych Lock scenes.

I disliked the fact that they overplayed old songs in JFA and T&T. For example, JFA had its own Search ~ Core theme, but the only time they actually played it was during 2-4.

I hated the fact that they didn't rewrite the DS release of JFA's script to make reference to 1-5. I mean, it wouldn't have been too difficult would it?

That's like the number 1 gripe of PW. It's really the other way about, 1-5 was written to fit the JFA Story.

IIRC...
at some point, when you present Pearl's profile to Gumshoe, he says he cant remember who that person is and then PEARL says "I guess that person didn't make much of an impression on Gumshoe". Or somthing like that. (In JFA somewhere??)

The first investigation of 1-5 (I spent two days trying to find what to do next. And like any other sane person, I assumed the boot was just part of the car)
And then the first investigation of 4-3 (Only five hours this time, but it gets tiring presenting evidence over and over again...)
