What happens when a female spirit medium channels a male spirit? All of the channling that's ever been on camera has been female channeling female. Would the spirit medium appear to change sex with clothes on? And if so, would the spirit medium pass for a man with the clothes off as well? |

Well, nobody knows since it's never happened. Perhaps there's a channeling technique somewhere that has male spirit mediums? |

I think they keep some traits EG. hair and clothes but if a female channelled a male it would look like a male but still be a female. I think |

Well, from what channeling we have seen, what happens is the living tissue of the body actually transforms completely, with only hair (and possibly nails) remaining the same. If it's tied up like Pearl's, then it remains tied up. (as seen when Pearl channels Mia and keeps the pretzel do) Otherwise, the hairstyle shifts to match the person being channeled. (Maya channeling Dahlia, and looking EXACTLY like Iris) Presumably a dna test of the hair would confirm that the person is being channeled thru a spirit medium, and not the real deal. I'm not sure what results a blood test would have. There's quite a few other things i wonder, but they are decidedly not family friendly topics, so I will remain silent on them. :) |

Yet the hair goes back to normal with not nearly enough time to have fixed it as soon as she leaves Maya's body. And how did she do her hair up while trapped in the cavern? And well, lets just say that I can easily see men wanting their dead wives/girlfriends to be channeled by a spirit medium with the same hair color. Sweet innocent Pearl transforming from a child into a woman when she channels is pretty spooky itself, though fortunately the series completely ignores the possibilities raised by that. (though i have to wonder if some of the fanfictions have went there...) |

The Case Files has a male channeling more than once and as far as I can tell the persons defining traits are what are seen, in Mia's case it is her mammary glands eh? IN other peoples maybe it would be say, their scruffy appearance? mustache? wrinkles? Who knows, I would scan the pages from The Case Files but they are not really 'canon' but funny plus I'd be very late for work if I did.

When Dahlia left Maya's body, Maya's hair was down, it didn't go back to her top knot thing. I don't know how the hair unpinned itself though.. |
