All of the AA games have slightly different styles for their sprites. Which game's style do you prefer the most?

AA1 is probably the least cartoony (although feel free to disagree with me on this), while AA3 has several exaggerated and stylized sprites. AJ has the more detailed characters. Also, I'm lumping 1-5 with AA4 sprites, since they're in the same style.

Personally, I like AA1 best. Yeah, the sprites don't look as good as some of the later ones, but I prefer having the characters all look largely like they were drawn from the same mold rather than throwing in some suddenly bizarre-looking people. And for some reason the AJ sprites just don't click with me - I think the greater detail throws some of the more unusual design aspects into relief, e.g. I find Ema and Trucy's eyes to be uncomfortably far apart, even though other characters in the earlier games have the same amount of space between their eyes.

Also, just for kicks - do you like the face forward look of the AA series or the "conversational" direction of Investigations? (no GK spoilers, please - I don't know anything but what I've seen in screenshots!)
I like the "face foward" look myself. It's a little more unique. A number of JRPGs have the conversation thing going on, but I can't think of many other games that have character designs like the front-facing ones in AA.

Well... as far I can see...

AA1: Most sprites are "dirty". The courtroom view ones are "blocky" as well. To know what it means, see Yogi's swaying sprites and Sawhit's courtroom view one. Very much probably because it was the first game.

AA1 (1-5): They are very detailed, hue and more colours, great anti-alias... still, they are about the same size as AA 1 to 3 ones.

AA2: The sprites are cleaner and brighter... but the colours are weak... except Regina's.

AA3: The sprites has now contrasting colours. The cleanliness is great... Except for Dahlia and Iris.

AJ: See AA1 (1-5). BUT! They are relativately bigger.
This is a sig. Don't you believe me?

Same here.

AJ styled and AAI sprites all seem too...dark, if you know what I mean.
All characters from AA, JFA and T&T were more brighter.
Or something like dat.

Yap, yap..

I'm not sure how I feel about the style of the GK&AJ sprites.
I'd say I like the AA1 sprites the best. They have a certain...feel to them (?) that I enjoy.
