Since the first game I rushed through all the investigations in JFA, T&T and AJ. I didn't examinine the irrelevant objects because I just wanted to get to the trial because it is funnerer.
Despite the fact that Maya's many stomachs was one of my favourite moments from the first game.

I mean I only just found out about the ladders last night!

Woe! What have I done?! What have I missed?!

If you only found about the ladders last night, then I agree with the post above me. I try to examine everything that I can. You'll get more (laughs) out of the game that way.

It's hard to list EVERYTHING you missed, but you really should examine the whole scenery. I did it because I suck at the investigation parts and didn't find all the important clues otherwise, but it was in any case very funny and refreshing to have some commentary and character interaction through the annoying investigation *g*

I was young (it was a month ago) and impatient!

I didn't have time to wait for the text to scroll and it seemed like the majority of stuff you can examine didn't lead to any funny dialogue or characterisation.

You win the topic.

Like others said.
Try presenting everything to everyone (including profiles), investigate everything and so on.
Just rushing makes you lose the game ;D

EDIT: Also...Since you confess it; you kinda lose the internet :will:
No offence intended here! Only a joke.

If you only found out about ladders yesterday, you've really been deprived =\

Well I needed multiple page essays to explain to me the ladder thing.

Though I usually rush through the games first, and then settle down and examine the unnecessary stuff when I get bored.

There's only one thing left to do for you...
Replay every game! ^^ Don't forget to examinate Charley, he's like the most awesome plant ever!

Yep. He's the best and most famous office plant in video games ever.

Trucy: I'm sorry, Mr. Charley. He was raised by a tribe of heathens.

Apollo: (She's saying something to the plant as she waters it...)

Trucy: Mr. Charley forgives you. This time.

Apollo: ...Is there anything else I might do to please His High Leafiness?

I did the same thing as you but to a lesser extent. I wanted to see what happened next in the storyline on my first playthrough and only examined the suspicous looking things. Then on the second playthrough I examined a little more and found heaps more funny dialouge and stuff. Also about half way through i started presenting everything to everyone. Now Im just finishing my 3rd Playthrough and I examine EVERYTHING and present everything to EVERYONE! Im still discovering new dialouge and i intend to do the AAI countdown so that will be my 4th time. XD

Based on what I read on the Ace Attorney wiki, I missed a number of references to Maya too.

just replay the games xD they're already awesome without all the referances and such but it also makes the games so much funnier too! and don't I didn't catch all the humour the first time around too.

The two best ways to get jokes in PW:
-Examine the crime scene: as you already know. You really do miss some fantastic quotes.
-Present unneeded, not-very-useful evidence to people: I find his badge is great to present, but sometimes, rather than the phrase they say when you present something useless (along the lines of "I don't know anythin about it" but normally in far more words) if you present a cirtain character with some evidence you get some hilarious stuff. (when you present a murder wepon to pearly maya gets angry, for example, or a HILARIOUS inteaction when you show mr wright trucy's magic panties!)

Spoiler: possible spoilers
Yeah, i love that detail in JFA and T&T. Presentig profiles was funny. everyone had something diferent and funny to say about the profile. :will:
Why this wasn't included in AJ?

Totally. For example; this one is from JFA

CASE: Turnabout Big Top
EXAMINE: Snack stand
AT: Circus Entrance

:phoenix: - It's a snack stand. They have hot fogs, hamburgers, and drinks... Not to mention...
:maya: - Candy and popcorn... They've even got snow cones!!
:phoenix: - (Who would eat snow cones in the middle of winter?)
:maya: - Nick... Do you think we can buy some snow cones?
:phoenix: - Look around... There's tons of snow pilled up all around here!
:maya: - YAY!! Wait a second... There's no syrup though! I want syrup!
:phoenix: - (Hopefully she doesn't notice that discolored snow in the corner. That's not syrup!)

In order to not get the feeling I'm playing the whole game through trial-and-error, what I did was I first examined only what seemed suspicious to me.
Then, before the game is about to pass on to a new phase, I examine all the seemingly pointless things.

By doing this, not only do I get all the fun dialogues (or monologues when Phoenix is alone), but I also get more satisfaction at the end because I feel that I did something with my own skill and didn't merely keep trying everything until I got it right.
Not to mention I don't have to replay the cases. :garyuu:

I miss a lot of things too, so I just pass my DS over to one of my friends who has a habit of examining everything, and she shows me the funniest things.

Also don't forget to press every statement, however unnecessarily, or you could miss some golden lines. Actually, I suppose to fully get the whole experience you would have to die at every single possible point in the game... or read the script.
