Okay, something never got cleared up for me, so let's see if you guys know
Spoiler:
Y'know that photo of Lana in the parking garage looking at the open trunk? In my original playthrough, I noticed that the white coat she's wearing not only is the same style of coat that Bruce Goodman wears, but has bloodstains in the EXACT SAME PLACES that "Bruce" (Jake Marshall) got blood on during the video recording of him and Meekins fighting in the locker room.

Now, it's been awhile so my memory isn't THAT clear, but I don't believe that the coat Lana wearing was ever explained, much less the bloodstains. Did anyone else notice this/have an explanation for this?

Hmm... It HAS to be a coincidence... There's no way Lana could be wearing the same coat Jake used...

Spoiler:
I was looking back at the pics from throughout the case--In the picture where Lana is holding Ema in the office after Neil was killed, Ema is wearing a coat exactly like the one Lana/Goodman has, so my guess is that they (as in Lana and Goodman) have similar coats--even identical.

Either coincidence or they all shop at the same coat store. :jake: Good find.

Too lazy... hur hur.

Spoiler:
Well, it obviously wasn't THE coat because Jake's coat was sticking out of the locker when you examined the evidence room in the second day. I'm assuming Lana put it on because she was supposed to be getting rid of a bloody body and she didn't want her normal clothes to be soiled...and the blood on the coat must have been made when she cut her hand? But then why would it be on the part of her jacket that it was and splattered the way it was? :/

Exactly... What I've kinda assumed is that there was some other twist that was originally planned when they had the artist make that picture, but ended up going in a different direction... Does someone have a screenshot of the Marshall-Meekins fight that shows where the blood on the coat is?

Well, I don't have a picture, but I'm sure the blood was splattered up his right shoulder (which would be our left) in the general location of Lana's. That was the only part of him that was shown from behind the Blue Badger, though, so I don't know if there was blood on other parts of the coat as well, though a cut on Meekins hand shouldn't have bled TOO much. And I thought the blood on Lana's coat was just to cast suspicion on her and the coat itself was something she put on for the job of transfering the body, but I guess it could have been to tie it together with the evidence room incident like you say. Another thing to consider is that they were already drawing a lot of paralels with the two incidents, like the cuts on Lana and Meekin's hands, so maybe they did it on purpose for another similarity.

I had been wondering the exact same thing. At first, before I finished the case, I had thought that Lana had pinned her hair up and disguised herself as Goodman. But then I found out it was Jake. On Jake's coat, I'm pretty sure the blood was on the right shoulder area. As someone else had said, that was pretty much the only area we could see. Honestly, it still has me confused.

The case takes place in February. In the Northern Hemisphere, that's wintertime. So it was probably cold out.

Spoiler: Brrrrr.
Therefore it's not unlikely that Lana was just wearing an overcoat.

You can compare the two jackets heres. They are quite similar, but not identical. Goodman's coat has a series of buttons on the front that are absent on Lana's overcoat. Additionally, there are buttons on the shoulders of Lana's overcoat that are not present on Goodman's.

The blood on Jake's coat came from Meekins' hand. The blood on Lana's coat came from either the corpse (during the knife switch) or her own hand. The right-shoulder thing is either a coincidence or another intentional "link" between the Evidence Room murder and the Parking Lot- they were designed to be uncannily similar, after all.

Sticks and stones may break my bones...
But a giant mallet will break them faster.
