If they were trainers. Not "what pokemon would they BE" (that's for the sprite editors :P) but which would they have with them?
- Growlithe. It's fierce and loyal like a certain detective (though possibly less clumsy). Also, Edgey has Pesu, so we know he likes dogs :P
- Buneary. It's cute and small. Also, it's a Klutz and can't hold items. >.>
- Gardevoir. Psychic! Also, is sort of... elegant. Mia seems like she'd have an elegant Pokemon.
- Lopunny. Just... look at the damn thing. If only it were pink.
- Skitty! It's small, pink, cute, and... uh... well, she'd just have a damn Skitty, okay?Daian would have a Skuntank. Look at its sprite.
- Mewtwo, or any "Ultimate" Pokémon - Mr. Perfection here wouldn't settle for any less.
Venusaur - Two words: Vine Whip
Ludicolo, or Farfetch'd - Eccentric, just like him.
Moltres - In the Pokémon TCG, a card named Rocket's Moltres had a Pokémon power where it revived whenever it was knocked out (it was called Phoenix in the Japanese Version, but I think it got translated as Rebirth, damn it was a long time ago.)
Magikarp - I don't know how he would crush rookies with a Magikarp, but it's worthless, like him.
Alakazam - With an IQ of over 5000, why wouldn't Ema use one?

Goldeen. It fits her personality?
- Dewgong. Beutiful Pokemon, lives in sub-zero waters. Kinda fitting.
- Sableye. LOOK AT IT!
- Cacturne. 'Nuff said.
- Phanphy. Little tykes who don't know their own power.
A Roselia, because it's pretty and can use poisonous attacks.
A Zapdos, because it can use electricity (tasering, anyone?) and is legendary so it might be 'perfect' enough for him.
A Skitty like Pearl. Because it's like Shoe.
A Mew because it's psychic and I can mostly see her liking cute pokemon.
So totally a Persian, that way his precious pet can also steal your money.
Altaria, it's pretty and graceful and mine can kill just about any other monster with one blow. Kinda like how Shelly can beat-up three cops all alone with his bare hands. Altaria is a total badass.
Meowth, it's a cute little kitten like Shoe.

Arceus. Damon looks like Zeus, a Greek god... and Arcues's classifcation in the game is 'creation or god' pokemon.... I dunno, it's just Damon's look and Arceus' name. :P

- Arcanine & Luxray. Because Arcanine has tiger stripes (even though it's a dog) and Luxray looks like a lion.
- Hypno. She could use it to hypnotize guys into going out with her.
