I read through the PW manga and the first volume of the ME manga and really enjoyed them. (It was a little more violent than the games, though.) But I had a couple questions to them:

1. What's the Canon status of these? I'm sure they're technically "non-canon" but they actually work quite well in the canon itself so I'm not sure.

2. Assuming they are canon/meant to be written as if they were canon, where do they fit? the PW manga could happen anytime after Case 2-2, but hints in the story and the fact that it takes place in August-September suggest that it took place after T&T. I also know the August-September thing seems to clash with Apollo Justice, although you can't be really sure that the May case where Wright lost was 2019 or 2020, due to the loose usage of "x years later" in the games. Also, the manga has Eldoon's father in it, suggesting the writers factored AJ into their plans. As for the Edgeworth Manga, there's no dates but Edgeworth could still be working during AJ for all we know.

3. Was there ever an Apollo Justice manga? Too bad if not, it would be good to have some new adventures with that cast.

Thanks!
I used to have Sam Waterston as my avatar but photobucket added a watermark and also Law & Order has been cancelled for 10 years so it's time for me to move on.

If it's the casebooks they ain't canon. I always envisioned them as everyday stories from the life of Phoenix Wright and Miles Edgeworth. They are written as if they happen in the same universe and may relate to various events in the canon but as it is they are a collection of short stories which are written as if they could happen at any point in the storyline pre-AJ.

No I'm talking about the Official Manga just released in the last year. The ones that had real cases.

I wan't a fan of the casebooks. I was expecting real cases but just got, like you said, little daily life things. The Official manga is really good though.

I'm personally of the party of 'cannon until proven otherwise', but that's my personal take. It's not like they harm anything, provided there are no contradictions. (And it's not like the games didn't have their own version of those see GS1-5 and GS2 for instance). And they're as relivant to the over arching story as that cannon fan fiction that's AAI. So I don't see any precident why they wouldn't.

But again that's my take, and I haven't really read much beyond what I was involved in Scanlating back in the day, so take my opinion with a grain of salt.

I don't think this issue has ever come up before. Curious.

That's generally my opinion. They (with the exception of the bloody violence) really feel like the games themselves (unlike the awful casebook) and "F.C. Wright" was the best court joke in a long time.

I'm more concerned about the placement on the timeline, since I also consider it unofficially canon.
