Is Elise Deauxnim's hair actually black or brown? She is shown with both black and brown hair. (Depending on where you see her) :elise:

Spoiler: Trials and Tribulations Spoilers

In both her Misty Fey and Elise Deauxnim character portraits, she has black hair.

Image
She has black hair in her in game sprite.

She has black hair in her HD sprite.

What's this? She has brown hair in her official artwork.

Image
She also has brown hair in the in game photo of her.

Image
Larry also drew her with brown hair.

I have always wondered why they didn't just decide on one color when they put her into the game. This is definitely the one of the most confusing things that I have encountered in an Ace Attorney game.

EDIT:
I thought of another one. Why did Frank Sahwit's toupee turn black when it hit Phoenix?

Have fun with this one: Ema Skye's eye color. In game, it's ALWAYS the same color as her shirt.

If you look at Edgeworth and his father, you'll see that they have gray/silver hair in-game, but some official art shows them with brown hair, too. Now, I only recently was told this by somebody who is studying art in college and she explained it to me like this.

Artistically, you never use the colors black, gray or white. Black and gray are very bleak colors, so putting highlights into it makes the color look very boring at that point. White leaves the paper, which is white itself, blank and makes it seem empty.
Which is why, when somebody has black hair, the highlights are often done in other colors - sometimes green, but very often blue or maybe even purple. It looks more dynamic. Gray fits for older people, but even then, the shadows and/or highlights are done with a slight color in them - again, like a very pale blue. And white haired characters often end up with platinum blond hair or the blond color used to indicate shadows.

Spoiler: Prince from 1/2 Prince - Described and originally depicted with white hair, in color artwork, generally drawn with blond hair
Image

Spoiler: Same Character - Here, his hair remains white, but the highlights and shadows are mostly done in a slightly reddish tone, to fit with the image
Image

Spoiler: Final Example - A character with white hair, but the shadows are indicated in green, blue-gray or purple, depending on where the light hits it
Image

In short, it's an artistic thing to do.

More like the power of different colored contacts.

(That's all I can think of. I dunno.)

As for Misty's hair...perhaps it's a really dark brown? That would explain why it looks black in game (you don't mean Misty anywhere but inside a temple, where there probably isn't much light since it only uses candles), but Larry's original drawing has it being brown (the picture was drawn outside). He probably based his drawing at the end of the game off of his original, explaining why the hair color is brown again.

And the official artwork...meh...those aren't really canon, so...

Also, what color is Franziska's hair? In some art it appears a silvery color, in other art it appears blueish, and in some other art it appears green.

Askaceattorney says Franzy's hair is platinum, and that site probably knows AA canon better than the author himself (despite not knowing GK2), so I say it's platinum.

Given Maya, Mia, and Morgan, I'm guessing Misty's hair is black.

I'll gladly point out to my previous post a bit higher on the page.
It's an artistic thing. Perhaps her hair is a very light color, almost white, but shadows are done in blue or green.
