Am upgrading my phone soon; was slightly reluctant to go with an Android vs. an iPhone due to the lack of Ace Attorney/Ghost Trick/The World Ends With You-ness, but this makes that hesitation disappear completely. Now I'm looking forward to getting an android!
Now the question is will I get an S4 or a Nexus 5? Decisions, decisions...

The sheer number of games that one can play with this is absolutely staggering, and there's no doubt in my mind that my phone could be used just as much or more then any gaming console with all that potential
And that's without even getting into the customizations that you can apparently do... man, I'm getting pumped for this
In any case, it would be MAJORLY annoying if I came across some bug while I'm playing that couldn't be fixed because I couldn't update the app, so this will both support the creators and prevent that future frusturation, essentially killing two birds with one stone
The only reason I can afford either of these phones is that I'm renewing my phone contract with Rogers, so they're letting me upgrade my phone to one of those two for free with a 2 year contract. If it wasn't for that, there'd be no way I could currently afford either phone
That said, I'd still support it if you have the money, if only to support the series and experience it for yourself. But hey... just my opinion; you may like the HD version better, so take my opinion with a grain of salt

I mean, if one's not supporting the industry AT ALL and ONLY acquiring games and the like through emulators, then I don't think it's quite right; it's not illegal, but it's not really good for the industry
However, if one buys games to support the developers ANYWAYS and uses emulators to either play games they otherwise couldn't (such as the AAI2 fan translation
) or replay titles on a more convenient medium, I don't really see that there should be any problem with it. I mean like you said, used games don't really garner too much profit anyways, so it's not killing the industry or anything dramatic like that to emulate; anyone who says otherwise is probably just looking for an argument, in my opinion
I definitely wouldn't have found about it otherwise, or at least not for some time; I had an android phone ages ago, but the specs weren't GREAT and the only existing DS emulator was crappy at best, so I wouldn't have bothered checking for one again in any hurry
Thanks; I look forward to my upcoming mobile emulation!
I mean, while to some degree it CAN be okay to pay full price for a phone itself if the phone bill itself is cheaper, paying that much money at once for something that's not necessairly top the line still would feel a bit painful I imagine

My reason for buying a 3DS version is twofold: one, they're likely to have done a better job on this port then the IOS version; two, I want to continuing supporting the series however I can. I mean, Capcom hasn't localized a game in the past because they felt like (quite incorrectly I might add) the game didn't have enough of an audience in the west, so I don't want to give them any more reason to stop making it officially available
Wasn't a bad purchase- it gave me my AA fix when I left my 3DS behind accidently on a trip a couple of times- and it does support the series, but isn't my favorite way of playing the games
