Post subject:  Gyakuten Saiban 5 to come out in 2011.
Relax, i'm kidding there in the title, i was just thinking about something.
Gyakuten Saiban came out in 2001 if i'm not wrong, Saiban 2 came out after one year, Saiban 3 two years after Saiban 2 and Saiban 4... well, 3 years after Saiban 3.
So every title comes out with "one more year" and that explains the title, if Saiban 5 was to follow this rule it would come out 4 years after Saiban 4.
Obviously, that's a fictional rule, i'm just kidding here.

But there's a point to this thread: I think Saiban 5 will come out in one year, just like Saiban 2 did. And that's where we got a problem. Why? Because Saiban 2 is the worst, or better said, the "less beautiful" game in the series, compared to the others.
With just one year to work on it, what will they do? :uramidn:

Oh and by the way i made this thread here because it involves the 3 main titles aswell, and the "Gyaku 4" board is full of spoilers, i think. Want to avoid those.

Hmm.... What I think:

JFA being "less beautiful" is a matter of opinion.

What you have stated is quite logical and is what most people are expecting from Capcom.

Yeah, it all revolves about opinions, you're right... but Saiban 1 is the first one and we all got nice memories about it... and it got "Case 2-3-4-5" that are all simply wonderful. Saiban 2 got that "bleah" Case 3 [imo] that kinda ruins it :uramidn:
I still have to finish Saiban 3 but it's the best game in the series... i can safely say that already.

GS3 is a really good game but I get stuck every five minutes....
I'm stuck on one of the case 5 testimonies right now(check spoiler tag).

JFA is really undermined by people (probably because of Case 3)
but what makes me love it is the music. Beautiful.

Gyakuten Saiban 3: 01/23/04
Gyakuten Saiban 1 DS: 09/15/05
Gyakuten Saiban 2 DS: 10/26/06
Gyakuten Saiban 4: 04/12/07
Gyakuten Saiban 3 DS: 08/23/07

With no system to remake GS4 on, they'll probably release 4 sometime in 2008.

No offense, but you're forgetting that the PW team was working on several other things between GS3 and 4. They made the extra case for the DS release, localized GS2 to JFA... GS4 came out about a year and a half after they announced it was being made (when those original concept sketches were released...none of which ended up being used).

Also, assuming they're making the second installation of Odoroki's story and not a whole new character (like they had to do with 4) it might not take as long.

I have a feeling GS5 will be talked about at the TGS this year, and be released somewhere between late 2008 and early 2009.

Maybe we should start placing bets. :shoe:

Well....Saiban 5, it's probably coming? The series is nowadays so popular that it probably makes a lots of cash for Capcom, right? Anyway, let's at least hope that we don't have wait many, many years for Saiban 4 to come out in the USA (thoguh I'm from Europe, I can always import. ;D) , it seems like an very, very interesting game, with the DS things and all...

Ive made my peace with 2-3. And saying that JFA is the least beautiful is completely opinionated. Every game has its strengths and weaknesses.

If it does come out in 2011, it will mark the 10th anniversary for Gyakuten Saiban's franchise. Not a bad idea if you think about it.

Talking about the first three games, in their DS versions, you will see that's - yes - an opinion but very common.

In that case, they should have GS6 come out in 2011. Then they can wrap up Odoroki's story with a huge anniversary blowout!

Someone posted sales figures for the games a while back... GS4 is the clear winner in terms of number of units sold. But that doesn't always translate to how well the game was liked, as there was a lot of hype for the game which boosted its marketability. I don't think GS5 will sell as well (unless they announce Edgeworth coming back or something :yuusaku: )

Personally I liked GS2 the best, and honestly...GS3 the least. I love 3-2 and the characters in 3-3, but there wasn't anything new gameplay wise, and some of the contradictions (especially in 3-3 and 3-5) felt tedious or just plain silly. It's still a fun game but not my favorite.

I hope that GS5 DOES resemble GS2 somewhat, in being a bit darker. I'd really love to see Odoroki deal with some serious personal issues.

There first is the one that got a lot of people to fall in love with the series. Me included. Im not gonna go attacking it. But the third? A masterpiece? I dont really agree, but I would like to hear your reasoning before saying so.

I dont think that a case is better merely because of more interactive puzzles. The puzzles can complicate things, but having a bad case with great features dosent make it a good case.

I'm not done with T&T, but JFA was my favorite. It had that great kind of ending, you know?

I liked JFA more than the first one.
2-2 and 2-4 decided it for me, I love that 2 cases so much.

I actualy wouldn't be surprised to see GS6 in late 2009 or early 2010, whit GS5 in early 2008. GS4 had totally amazing sales in Japan, and I have a feeling Capcom will be pussing for a sequel to be released as soon as possible for GS5 and 6. For the better or the worst (lets all hope GS doesn't become the next MegaMan...).

I thought JFA was overall inferior to AA, especially the 3rd case, that one was abysmal. Having said that, JFA is home to my fave case so far (the final one - biggest... storyline... twist... EVER!) and I'm glad people seem to think T&T is even better!

...then again I have a history of liking the characters/things everyone else in a fandom hates, so... :yuusaku:

I like the idea of GS6 coming out in the 10th anniversary year. Of course, if that did happen, I'd expect something special in the game as well. I dunno what, but something out of the ordinary (but good) that made it feel like an anniversary celebration, along with the game?

maybe like a SUPER PREORDER BONUS.

That would be pretty epic. And you get free Phoenix/Hobo Phoenix/every main character EXCEPT Apollo plushies for pre-ordering early.

... actually, Apollo plushies would be kinda cool. Just as long as it's not as nerdy as the Apollo in the games.
