Spoiler: I suppose it's mild spoilers, really
Adjective

fey (comparative more fey, superlative most fey)
archaic: "doomed, fated to die", often ascribed to supernatural causes, and evidenced by abnormal behavior (cognate to Old Norse féigr, German feige)

I dunno, this one jumps out at me more.

Quote:
3. supernatural; unreal; enchanted: elves, fairies, and other fey creatures.

Either way it still seems to come from Morgan la Fey from the Arthurian legends.

It's fitting that Mia's aunt is called Morgan (le) Fey then ;)

It works! Everyone with a "Fey" in their name always seems to die off in some supernatural, abnormal way or has contact with the supernatural on a daily basis.

The only phrase that comes to my mind is "Burn the Witch!"
On April 3, 2016, Court Records Forums experienced a miracle upon that day.

That's an interesting fact, you can say.

Very much so. In several translations and iterations of the Arthurian legend, the name "Morgan Fey" is used. And considering that all 3 games were out in Japan before they started translating the first one (I believe), I wouldn't be surprised if they named Morgan first and extrapolated the family names outward from that. Just a thought.

Also, etymologically, Fey comes from "Fay" which means "magic user," apparently. The same root as the word "fairy" comes from.

Hooray for Wikipedia.

I also recently noticed a pun that hasn't been explained at Maya's or Mia's profile.

The reason why their names are so alike? Simple. When Phoenix adresses them in court, other people don't seem to really notice he's refering to Maya as 'Mia'. So the fact that the names are this could be because the names are actively made to be similar to each other.

(slightly off topic, but meh.)

I always figured Mia was pronounced "Mee-yuh" and Maya "Mah-yuh" rather than both being "Mie-uh".

Yeah, and morgan le fey was trying to kill arthur, because although she was set to get the throne, he managed to get it instead. Makes sense, no?
