I always figured the stuttering was added in there to imply a character's nervousness or the awkwardness of a situation.. but yeah, I see what you mean.

I can understand an occasional stutter, but when I see things like: W-w-w-w-w-WHAAAAAAAAAAAATTTTTTTTTT??!?!?!?! all the time throughout the series, it makes me wonder. I mean, I don't know anyone who stutters like that, do you? Can anybody without a speech impediment honestly stutter that many times in one word, and do it multiple times per trial? Maybe I am misinterpreting the dashes? I'm not trying to find fault (the stutters are pretty funny), but it certainly strikes me as odd. Any thoughts? By the way, this is my first post here, been lurking for a while, and thought I'd actually join in. So, hi. |

I was wondering about that. I was playing through PW2 and Phoenix's seemed pretty consistent. |

I suppose it's just a nervousness thing, to help show an emotion. I do this in roleplaying too, characters who don't really stutter do so in a tight spot, to help get the message across... |

Since the characters don't "speak" aloud in the game, they really can't do tones for nervousness and whatnot. |

I always thought the dashes/stutter was used to show a character is nervous. I don't blame Nick for getting nervous in court. |
