I've just thought - what if the game's story was the other way round and it was Miles Edgeworth: Ace Attorney? Edgey really had decided to follow his father and become an ace attorney, and Phoenix becomes a prosecutor - maybe to make the story work - Spoiler: What do you think? Would it have worked? Because in a way, Nick is the prosecution in 2-4. |

It'd be the same except without the sarcasim Phoenix provides and the dullness of Edgeworth. So basically I don't really think it would work out well unless Capcom changed Edgeworths personality a bit more too. |

I agree. I love Edgeworth to death, and Spoiler: case 3-5 But I don't think the series would have been any fun if it'd started out playing as a prissy, rich, perfect guy. Edgeworth is too perfect, while Phoenix feels a lot more human. |

I agree.. I love Edgeworth but he's pretty one-note compared to Phoenix. He doesn't have many facets to his personality, other than his social awkwardness and uptight demeanor. So if they were going to do a game about him, they'd have to expand on his personality. Spoiler: case 3-5 |

If this game somehow ended up in the PTKFGS universe... - I'd be an Edgeworth/Maya shipper - Phoenix would be as rich as fuck - Phoenix would have an entirely different reason to become a prosecutor - Phoenix would get all the fangirls. |

He probably grows and changes more throughout the series than anyone. The problem is that if not for DL-6, that kind of growth wouldn't be possible. I honestly find it kind of hard to imagine what Edgeworth would be like if not for everything he went through. As for Phoenix...I think Phoenix is actually a better detective than he is a lawyer. If he was on the side of the law (and assuming he wasn't corrupt or something) he would probably get the culprit right every time. Which prevent the game from existing, really. Spoiler: "GS3" |

If Edgeworth had become a defense attorney, one would assume he wasn't raised by von Karma, meaning his father never died. This changes everything. He wouldn't dress in his fabulous magenta suits with cravats. He'd probably still be running around in short trousers and a bow tie... He wouldn't be striving for perfection because it wouldn't have been beaten into him from age 9 onward that perfect is the only acceptable way to be. He probably wouldn't be as socially awkward. Phoenix as a prosecutor? No way. The only reason he became a defense attorney was to "save Edgeworth". So he would've been an artist or whatever it was he was studying at Ivy University. Phoenix would be Edgeworth's Larry. Which means Larry would just be even more of a failure at living than the Larry we've come to know. |

I agree about Phoenix, he's a really "human" character, he gets nervous, he goofs up etc, and that's why I like him. Edgey starts out as an annoying prick really, and we're supposed to hate him, at least in the beginning. That's why I like the humanizing of his character, DL-6 is a great case for the character of Edgey. What does PTKFGS mean? In that case I'm a Phoenix/Maya shipper :D |

PTKFGS = Punch the keys for God's sake. It's an alternate universe to YTMND/You're the man now dog. Basically Black is White and Up is down. |

In 1-4, after you win, Phoenix says (jokingly): "Death to all of you! I should have become a prosecutor!" and Edgey muses "The same goes for me, only the other way round..." |
