No matter how you look at it, Phoenix Wright is a truly addicting game. Once you start playing, you just cant stop... But why? What makes this game just so much fun? Is it the pointing, and desk slamming, what is it? My guess is the game is packed with drugs... What do you think? :godot:

Funnily enough i was going to make a topic about the appeal of these games...seems like i was beaten to it.

I think that the main reason the game is good, may be down to the fact that it shouldn't be good. How many decent lawyer games truly exist after all?

And with that the player has entered the game with a perked brow, wondering what's in store. And in doing so you get completely knocked off of your feet within the first two cases.

The cases are always enjoyable to go through because of the characters you've been given. I think that we most probably feel as though we know these people we're playing with now. And like i've said countless times since joining here...it's very much like a television show.

it's appeal is the stories, and characters. You want to see what's going to happen to them in their next adventure. And you'll pay for it too.

This is just my theory, of course. All be it a rather blatant and obvious theory. But I still stand by it.

Ya I love the characters too, but theres just something about the game that makes it so if you put it down, you feel Physical payne (I made a pun!) untill you pick it back up again, I have yet to find a game like PW, where If im not playing, Im dead or passed out from Exhaustion...

And the text speed is fast so it's not annoying when it goes too slow. And you can yell "Objection!" and other stuff. And it's not too kid-ish and not too gore-ish. It's just pure genius.

And I like it because they are those Cheat-Free games. Like if you cheat it makes it not fun anymore. So you don't cheat. And I like the drawing and the variety of the characters. And the evidence list thing.

Everytime we laugh at the comical dialogue the Phoenix drug as I like to call it is released from the screen of the DS into the mind of the player. This drug becomes more severe as the player is able to interact with the game using the microphone on the DS in certain scenes. Thus the Phoenix drug is addictive. When the drug has fully developed in the brain of the player, they begin to think and focus more logically. However the drug is worse than crystal meth. Even when I stopped playig for a few months I got back into the game. YES! The Phoenix drug lasts forever inside the human system!

Also, the main plot isnt Repetitive sure, somethings repeat them selves, but till the end you never know who's done it!

I don't believe there is any particular part of the game that makes it good. I believe it is just the whole package.

Let's start with the characters. This game is chop full of colorful characters. Many of them we love. Another crutial piece is the music. In order to create a game, you need to have music that fits the scene. In this game, the music does. And of course, we cannot forget the cases. These cases are intriguing, juicy, and addicting.

These are just some qualities of the game. As I said before, what makes the game isn't just one particular quality. It is the whole thing. I stand firm by my statement.

I'd say the Drama, The exitement, the humor, the characters, What's not to love about PW?

I mean when you hear about the game you think its boring because its about lawyers but when you play it your hooked!

It could be the thought put into every case or the whole idea of it. It's just so perfect!

I love the script! What keeps me playing is just the multitude of hilarious things that the characters say!

(Plus, it makes for very entertaining inside jokes between me and my fellow crazy friends XD)

It isn't so much the gameplay (which is awesome but that's beside the point) as it is the plot and characters. The characters are better developed than in most video games and the plot just sucks you in.
